My Crazy Upgrade System
Chapter 554 - 553: A Flash of Light
Chapter 554: Chapter 553: A Flash of Light
In the room filled with Divine Rune seals, someone suddenly appeared beside them, startling everyone. When Ren Liangchen and the others saw who it was, their faces lit up with pure joy.
"Boss!"
They cried out in delight. The heavy weight on their hearts was finally lifted. As long as Yi Tianyun was back, nothing else mattered.
Yi Tianyun nodded. He had just arrived in Guangyun City and was scanning the area for their whereabouts when he witnessed this scene. He immediately used Instant Teleportation to get here without even breaking the array, all so these two couldn’t escape.
"Who are you, and how did you get in?!"
They were shaken. They had no idea when Yi Tianyun had entered; he had just suddenly appeared beside them, giving them a huge fright. The crucial point was that the surrounding array hadn’t been broken. ’How did he get in?’
"You don’t need to know that. All you need to know is that I’m here to practice with my sword," Yi Tianyun said with a faint smile, gripping the high-grade Sacred Artifact Longsword in his hand as he walked toward them step by step.
"A high-grade Sacred Artifact!?" They gasped, their eyes filling with intense greed.
A high-grade Sacred Artifact was far more valuable than a low-grade one. Twenty low-grade Sacred Artifacts couldn’t even compare to a single high-grade Sacred Artifact!
"We don’t know how you got in, but since you’ve delivered a Treasure right to our door, we really have to thank you." They chuckled sinisterly, completely oblivious to the kind of person they were facing.
In a flash, the two of them surrounded Yi Tianyun, smirking maliciously as they said, "They called you ’Boss’ earlier? So you’re their leader. We didn’t expect them to have backup. But if you hand over that high-grade Sacred Artifact, we promise to let all of you leave. Otherwise..."
SWISH!
A flash of light from a sword streaked past. They didn’t even have time to react. It was so unbelievably fast that they couldn’t see a thing. When they looked back at Yi Tianyun, they saw that his hand hadn’t moved at all. He was still in the same posture, holding his Longsword and walking toward them.
"What was that?" they frowned, not feeling that anything was amiss.
The next moment, they felt a sharp pain in their arms. A jet of blood immediately spurted out. A deep gash had somehow appeared on their arms, though it hadn’t severed the limbs.
"AAAAAHHH..."
They let out a pained scream, clutching their arms as they hastily retreated. The bleeding stopped quickly, but a look of terror now filled their eyes. They had no idea when Yi Tianyun had struck. All they saw was a flash of light, and the next thing they knew, a deep wound was carved into their arms!
Ren Liangchen and the others gasped. They also hadn’t seen when Yi Tianyun attacked. ’To think his cultivation has soared again after just a few days!’ Two Void Spirit experts were being utterly dominated, unable to even see his attacks.
"I was already going slow, but you still couldn’t dodge. Come on, let’s keep practicing." Yi Tianyun smiled, but in their eyes, his smile was that of a terrifying demon.
"Kill him!"
Golden Peak and his companion roared. At this point, their only option was to go all out. They quickly grabbed their weapons with their uninjured hands and flanked Yi Tianyun, each erupting with their most powerful aura. The force of their Void Spirit cultivation base surged outward, slamming against the array and causing the entire formation to tremble.
Sword Auras flickered in the air, forming a Light Net that closed in on him. The furniture in its path was pulverized into dust. If not for the array reinforcing the room, the Sword Auras would have shot into the sky and blasted the inn apart.
They were still holding back, trying to keep their Sword Auras from becoming too overpowering. If they broke through the array, their presence would be exposed.
Yi Tianyun’s gaze turned cold. He swiftly slashed his sword forward. Again, a bright light flashed past. His opponents froze for a second, followed by a cold sensation on their arms. They then watched as their own arms fell off and dropped to the floor as if they were toy blocks.
SQUIRT!
A horrifying torrent of blood gushed from the stumps, staining a large patch of the floor red. As the searing pain washed over them, they screamed endlessly. But what they felt even more than pain was fear. A deep, profound fear!
If they had been careless before, this time they had been completely serious. And yet, they were still felled in a single strike, their arms severed. They could sense that Yi Tianyun was still holding back. Otherwise, that one strike would have surely pierced their hearts.
"You... just who in the world are you!?" they stammered, utterly terrified and panicked.
"I’m no one special. Just looking after my subordinates. You wanted to practice swordplay, didn’t you? I’ll be your partner. We’re not finished yet. Let’s take our time." Yi Tianyun smiled faintly. The Celestial Nether Divine Sword in his hand was not stained with a single drop of blood; it looked pristine.
"N-No, that won’t be necessary! We... we were just messing around with them! P-please, Senior, spare us..." they pleaded with miserable expressions. They never imagined they’d run into a steel wall, and an incredibly hard one at that!
"Y-Yes, that’s right! We... we were just messing around, just a simple sparring session, really! We had absolutely no intention of harming them. We were just borrowing their weapons and would have returned them soon... We’ve never used a Sacred Artifact before, so we wanted to borrow one for a bit. No ill intentions, really," Zhao Quan added with a forced smile. His bleeding had stopped, but his arm was ruined.
Their faces were pale, whether from fright or their injuries, it was hard to tell.
"Don’t worry, I’m also just here for a simple practice session. It’s just that my control isn’t very good. My apologies." Yi Tianyun smiled as the Celestial Nether Divine Sword in his hand twitched.
Another bright light flashed. The next moment, they collapsed to the ground. One of their legs had been severed!
Fear. A deep, bone-chilling fear! He was killing without a trace, dismantling their bodies piece by piece in the blink of an eye.
"AAAAAHHH... Milord, we were wrong, we were truly wrong! We shouldn’t have given in to greed! Please, we beg you, let us go!"
They screamed and begged for mercy. They couldn’t even run away now. All they could do was drag their bodies toward the wall, trying to escape Yi Tianyun’s relentless assault.
"I’m really just practicing with my sword. Truly." Yi Tianyun’s faint smile held a wicked charm.
Their eyes widened, filled with profound terror. It was the most terrifying smile they had ever seen in their lives, and the most terrifying "practice session" imaginable!
At this moment, their hearts were churning with regret. To think that they would end up forfeiting their own lives just to snatch three Sacred Artifacts. Their original plan was to kill their victims to silence them. Ren Liangchen’s group didn’t have high cultivation, yet possessed Sacred Artifacts, which likely meant they had a powerful background.
That was why they couldn’t let them go. Who knew that they would actually attract such a powerful enemy—and a terrifyingly strong one at that!
