My Crazy Upgrade System
Chapter 663: Believe It or Not, I’ll Throw You Out?
“Tell me everything in detail!”
A delighted glint flashed in Yi Tianyun’s eyes. ‘I can’t believe I stumbled upon a lead like this by sheer chance.’ It was such a coincidence that He Rongkun had seen Shi Xueyun. Though many people in the world shared the same name, there was a high probability this was *the* Shi Xueyun!
“To be honest, I didn’t get a very clear look. The snow on Luoyu Mountain was too heavy. For them to be able to stand on the summit for so long, their cultivation must be quite high. We wouldn’t dare stare, and Master knew that, which is why he quickly pulled me away.” He Rongkun scratched his head. “That’s all I remember. I just heard someone shout ‘Celestial Cloud,’ which is just like your name, Yi. It’s mainly because the girl was so beautiful that I happened to remember…”
“Luoyu Mountain…”
A glint flashed in Yi Tianyun’s eyes. He had heard a little about this place from a street vendor, but he didn’t think Shi Xueyun was staying there. It was more likely that she was just passing through and stopping to rest.
He immediately took out a piece of paper and quickly sketched Shi Xueyun’s likeness on it, then showed it to He Rongkun. “The girl you saw, did she look like this?”
“Yes, yes, yes! That’s her. Yi, your drawing is amazing, it’s a perfect likeness. It seems you know that fairy-like girl?” He Rongkun said with envy.
“Yes. Do you know where she might be? Or what sect she belongs to? If you can tell me, I’ll reward you handsomely!” Yi Tianyun felt a surge of excitement, his normally calm heart now filled with a pleasant surprise.
Wei Feizhou, who was standing to the side, had been about to say something, but when he saw how skillfully Yi Tianyun drew the portrait, it was obvious he knew Shi Xueyun. His expression immediately grew solemn.
Wei Feizhou was no fool. He just always sought stability and preferred not to stir up trouble. That didn’t mean he was clueless; he could infer a lot from this situation.
‘This whole “no sect, no school” story was probably a fabrication.’
“I’m not too sure about that. I only saw that they looked like fairies. As for what sect they belong to, I have no idea…” He Rongkun said, embarrassed.
“Judging by their clothing, I’m fairly certain I’ve never seen it before. I can’t say I’ve been everywhere, but I’ve seen the attire of most major powers, and theirs was very unique—definitely a first for me. They are most likely from a Hidden Clan. The most distinguishing feature was on their clothes: a painted, light red plum blossom. It gave them a refined and otherworldly look…”
“I’m certain they are from a powerful Hidden Clan, at least on the level of an Empire-tier Hidden Clan. It’s only because they remain in seclusion that they are so rarely seen.”
Wei Feizhou shared his assessment. Unlike his disciple, who had only stared at their faces, he had observed every detail about them before making a judgment.
If they seemed like people you shouldn’t provoke, he would immediately drag his disciple away without so much as a second glance. If you ran into an arrogant type, just looking for a few seconds too long could get your eyes gouged out.
Yi Tianyun’s eyes shifted. He couldn’t help but look at Wei Feizhou with newfound respect. ‘He really is a good master.’ It wasn’t that he was too cold-blooded, but that the world was too harsh, which made him hesitant to perform random acts of kindness that could easily backfire.
“A Hidden Clan, huh…”
He had considered the possibility of a Hidden Clan before, but precisely because they were hidden, information about them was scarce. This new clue immediately ruled out the seven or eight powers he had previously suspected, saving him a lot of effort.
However, he now had a crucial piece of information: the engraved plum blossom. This was a very distinctive feature. If he asked around at the larger powers, he should be able to uncover some related news.
It was normal for Wei Feizhou, being from a small power, not to know. Only the larger powers had even heard rumors of some Hidden Clans. If any random person on the street knew about them, they wouldn’t be “hidden” anymore.
“It’s about to start! Rongkun, get in there, quickly!” Wei Feizhou urged his disciple to enter. The main gate was already opening slowly, and if they delayed any longer, all the good spots would be taken.
There were far too many eligible Cultivators, so they had to hurry.
He Rongkun nodded and hurriedly surged forward. Just as he was about to enter, he couldn’t help but turn to Yi Tianyun and say, “Yi, aren’t you coming? You can’t waste this opportunity!”
“No need. When I said I would give you a great opportunity, I meant it. I didn’t come here for the trial; I came here to give you that opportunity.” Yi Tianyun smiled faintly. His gains this time were excellent, far better than what he got from questioning those vendors.
This was extremely precise information, which made him feel inclined to look out for them a bit more.
Repaying every favor had always been his principle.
“Give me an opportunity?” He Rongkun waved his hand with a helpless expression. “Well, if you’re not going in, I’ll go in first then…”
With that, he rushed inside. Unfortunately, there were too many people, making it difficult to squeeze through. A moment later, he felt a force spread out from around him, forcibly parting a path for him and allowing him to walk in with ease.
Although he was confused, his eagerness to secure a good spot won out, and he hurried inside.
When Wei Feizhou saw his disciple get in so easily, he was baffled. With so many people, he should have had to slowly squeeze his way in. How could it have been so effortless?
“Let’s go inside and watch,” Yi Tianyun said nonchalantly. “Let’s see your disciple’s Potential, and how high he can climb.”
As he spoke, he clasped his hands behind his back and walked inside. Wei Feizhou was stunned for a moment, but then he followed. Just as he was about to say something, he felt the people pressing in around them suddenly get pushed away by an invisible force, not even managing to touch the corner of his robes.
“This…”
Wei Feizhou was utterly shocked. Although he could accomplish such a feat, he could never do it so smoothly. This meant one thing: the young man before him either had a higher cultivation level than him, or his control was far more astonishing!
Soon, Yi Tianyun led him inside. They weren’t participating in the trial, but they could watch from the side. Inside, there was, without a doubt, a massive staircase stretching upwards, with a full thousand steps.
They had only just entered when they heard the sound of arguing.
“Kid, this spot is mine. Scram if you know what’s good for you!” a handsome young man barked at He Rongkun.
“But I was clearly here first…” Thanks to Yi Tianyun’s help, He Rongkun had easily entered and chosen a good spot.
Although the area was spacious, most people chose a spot in the middle, as it was undoubtedly the best place from which to begin the climb. These central spots were relatively few, and therefore highly sought-after.
“Say ‘no’ one more time and see if I don’t throw you out of here!” the young man said coldly.
As he spoke, two Core Condensation Realm experts surged forward from the side, staring coldly at He Rongkun, trying to intimidate him into backing down.
“I… I…” Just as He Rongkun was about to say something, Yi Tianyun’s nonchalant voice reached his ears.
“If you keep making a fuss, see if I don’t throw *you* out of here.” Yi Tianyun walked over lazily. He had promised the kid a great opportunity, and he would certainly see it through to the end.
