Mei Qingyuan closed his eyes in agony. Yi Tianyun’s words were perfectly clear: he would not be giving them a quick death. The reason was simple. If Mei Qingyuan had been the one to capture him, he wouldn’t have killed him quickly either. He would have made sure Yi Tianyun wished he were dead.

With his own son killed, how could Mei Qingyuan possibly have let Yi Tianyun die an easy death? Even if Mei Qingyuan had been willing, Elder Mei certainly would not have been. Mei Qingyuan was her son, after all. How could she possibly have let the matter drop so easily?

As it was, things were still manageable. Less than half of the palace halls were destroyed, so the overall situation wasn’t too disastrous. If Mei Wenshu had been any later, or if they had continued to resist, the result would have been total, merciless destruction.

Yi Tianyun truly wouldn’t have minded turning them all into a pile of experience points. He was in desperate need of experience right now, and killing a few Saint Kings would have been quite a nice gain.

Immediately after, Yi Tianyun’s gaze shifted to Elder Wan. Her legs gave out from under her, and she collapsed straight to the ground. Yi Tianyun hadn’t used even a sliver of his power; she simply crumpled to the floor, utterly terrified by him.

"Tianyun, there’s no need to punish her... She took good care of me while I was here," Shi Xueyun said, trying to dissuade him.

She no longer intended to call Elder Wan ’Master’. The woman had deceived her into coming to the Celestial Plum Divine Clan and made a mountain of false promises. When it came to ruthlessness, Shi Xueyun was in no way inferior to Yi Tianyun; she could even be more vicious.

If Yi Tianyun had been the one captured and tortured here, Shi Xueyun would likely have slaughtered everyone—even the ignorant bystanders would have been killed. There would have been no exceptions.

Back at Merak Palace, Shi Xueyun had long since earned the title of the "Slaughtering Palace Master." When she got ruthless, she would kill any enemy, and even eradicate those with the slightest connection to them, leaving no one behind!
