My Crazy Upgrade System
Chapter 691 - 690: Marry Me
Chapter 691: Chapter 690: Marry Me
For a long time, Shi Xueyun lay in Yi Tianyun’s embrace, her face flushed. She never imagined Yi Tianyun would be so bold. She no longer looked like an aunt in the slightest; she was like a young girl nestled in his arms, looking utterly devoted.
"Xueyun, do you have any idea how worried I was when I came back and found out you’d been taken away?" Yi Tianyun squeezed her small hand, inhaling the fragrance of her hair. Everything felt so right.
It had been so long since he’d felt this way. In the past, he could always return from a great battle and spend time with her, sharing a moment of tenderness. Ever since she came to the Celestial Realm, the days had felt unbearably long.
Shi Xueyun was his harbor, a safe haven for him to return to. But who would have thought that this harbor would suddenly vanish?
"When the Celestial Plum Divine Clan came to take me away, I was very hesitant. But I thought that I could grow stronger and, more importantly, come to the Celestial Realm to find your parents, so I agreed. I really didn’t want to come to the Celestial Realm at the time..." Shi Xueyun’s beautiful eyes gazed at the distant blue sky, a faint smile gracing her lips.
It wasn’t that the scenery was beautiful, but because of who was by her side.
"Don’t ever leave my side again, okay?" Yi Tianyun murmured in her ear.
"Mmm..." Shi Xueyun nodded gently, reaching out to caress Yi Tianyun’s cheek. She smiled faintly. "From the very beginning, I never wanted to leave you, my little man."
Her face blossomed into a smile, as beautiful and captivating as a blooming begonia.
After gazing at her for a long moment, Yi Tianyun smiled gently. "Xueyun, when we go back... let’s get married, shall we?"
Shi Xueyun froze, her cheeks instantly flushing crimson. Her eyes began to redden as well. She didn’t answer immediately, instead leaning her head on his shoulder and saying softly, "Tianyun, you don’t mind? That I’m older than you."
"Older than me? You’re only seven or eight years older. How is that a big deal? There are plenty of Cultivators whose partners are hundreds of years apart in age. What’s our small gap in comparison?" Yi Tianyun said, completely unconcerned.
"Then why are all the women you bring back younger..."
"..."
Yi Tianyun was momentarily speechless, then he quickly explained, "Xueyun, I only brought them here because I felt they had Potential. What does that have to do with age? It’s just a coincidence that they happen to be younger. It’s not like I only bring back younger women."
"Is that so? It seems I was overthinking it..." Shi Xueyun leaned against his chest and whispered, "Then... I’m willing to marry you."
Yi Tianyun gently tilted her chin up. Reflected in his sight were her beautiful eyes, shimmering like ripples on water. He didn’t say a word either, simply kissing her deeply once more.
...
After another long moment, they parted again, and Yi Tianyun held her even tighter. ’Was he surprised? Not really.’ Everything felt so natural, so inevitable.
He had decided long ago that he would marry Shi Xueyun. Now that she had agreed, his heart was filled less with surprise and more with a profound, indescribable emotion.
The only way he could express his feelings now was to hold Shi Xueyun tightly in his arms, as if he were afraid she would run away.
He recalled the past, how difficult everything had been before he activated his system. No matter how much others mocked or ridiculed him, Shi Xueyun had always been there to shield him, constantly searching for Elixir Pills to replenish his Blood Qi.
If it weren’t for her daring attempt, he never would have been able to activate the system. It required a high-grade pill like the Dragon Blood Divine Pill to activate—or rather, a pill of a similarly high grade would have also worked.
When his body had been weak before, Shi Xueyun wouldn’t have dared to give him such a precious Elixir Pill. It wasn’t that she was afraid of wasting it, but that she feared his body wouldn’t be able to withstand it.
The Dragon Blood Divine Pill was relatively gentle, but she had still waited until Yi Tianyun’s condition had stabilized before she brought it to him.
Everything before that had been so bleak, but he had never despaired, never given up. He believed that one day, he would be the one protecting Shi Xueyun, not the other way around!
Now, he finally had the power to protect Shi Xueyun and to strike back at all those who had looked down on him.
After another moment of tenderness, Shi Xueyun looked into the distance and said softly, "I wonder how my sister is doing now..."
Yi Tianyun’s heart sank. He now had to face the issue of his parents.
"Xueyun, what’s the situation with my parents? Have you managed to find any news about them?" Yi Tianyun asked.
"I haven’t been able to find a single clue. I haven’t been able to leave. My original plan was to continue raising my cultivation and then go out to investigate." Shi Xueyun smiled faintly. "Who knew things would turn out this way? In the end, I’ll be investigating with you after all."
"Xueyun, to be honest, I’m not really interested in that." Yi Tianyun’s expression was impassive. He had no interest whatsoever in these so-called parents of his.
First of all, he had no impression of them. Secondly, he had no memories of them. How could he have any feelings for them? To say he missed them dearly would be a lie. He’d never even met them, so how could he possibly miss them?
Even if he did find them, it was unlikely he would be able to treat them with much reverence. It wasn’t that he was disrespectful to his elders, but abandoning him so carelessly was just too irresponsible.
Even if they had their reasons, it didn’t matter anymore. By all rights, he should have died long ago. What did these parents have to do with him now?
"I know you resent them, but they are your parents, after all." Shi Xueyun’s eyes flickered. "The main thing is, I want to see how my sister is doing. She threw everything away to leave back then. I want to see if her choice was the right one! If it was, I won’t say another word. But if it wasn’t, I’ll slap her awake myself and drag her back to the Mortal Realm!"
"More than that, I want to know if your father took responsibility in the end. The main reason I came to the Celestial Realm was to find an answer."
Her eyes shimmered. She had come here seeking an answer. Back then, her attempts to stop her sister had been useless. Her sister had insisted on going to find Yi Tianyun’s father, and because Shi Xueyun knew it was a path of no return, she had tried desperately to hold her back.
Almost twenty years had passed now, and she had no idea what had become of her. For a Cultivator, that was but the blink of an eye. But in terms of what could happen in that time, a great deal could change.
"Alright, then. I’ll go with you, Xueyun. Do you remember anything about the faction he belonged to?" Yi Tianyun asked.
If they knew the name, it would be easy to find. The problem was not knowing the name. It was just like with the Celestial Plum Divine Clan; if he hadn’t found a few of their defining features, he never would have located them.
This place was simply too remote; finding it had been incredibly difficult. Of course, for him, as long as he could gather three million Madness Value, nothing was a problem.
