Chapter 397: Chapter 234: What If This Were Modified?

The two continued their conversation as they entered the lobby of the Doctor Feng Robot Technology Group.

Chang Wei had already brought his team over to greet them with great enthusiasm.

Although he was rather resentful about working on the weekend, he knew what was at stake. President Feng had personally arranged this visit. Even as a vice president, if anything went wrong, he’d be in for more than he could handle.

After the pleasantries were exchanged, Chang Wei beamed and said, "If you’ll both follow me, my colleague, Xiao Li, will give you a brief overview of our company."

The Doctor Feng Robot Technology Group’s showroom was enormous, spanning nearly 500 square meters. It was filled with displays about the company, its products, and most notably, its achievements in cutting-edge manufacturing and scientific research.

Xiao Li was the consummate professional. Her presentation was delivered with a captivating cadence, and her voice was incredibly engaging.

"The Doctor Feng Robot Technology Group is oriented toward the global technological frontier, major global demands, and the primary economic battlefield. We integrate superior domestic and international resources to create a world-class innovation platform in the field of advanced manufacturing science and technology."

"Our main research areas are artificial intelligence and high-end equipment manufacturing. Shortly, we will have a demonstration of our intelligent robots and advanced remote sensing equipment. In the future, we also plan to increase our investment in semiconductor technology and equipment, as well as new materials and new devices!"

Xiao Li gestured toward a large electronic screen as she gave a detailed explanation. Then, she walked to a display wall at the front and continued:

"We have our own academic committee, which includes three full-time academicians and seventeen with dual appointments!"

"We employ seventy-eight high-level researchers with doctoral and postdoctoral degrees, organized into sixty-two R&D teams. We have also been accredited as a doctoral workstation for Hanjiang Province and are in the process of applying for national postdoctoral workstation status!"

Xiao Qi listened with rapt attention to the profound yet simple explanation. ’The development at Doctor Feng Robot Technology Group is happening at an incredible pace,’ she thought. ’It’s like it undergoes a massive transformation every single day!’

Xiao Li went on to describe the company’s extensive intellectual property portfolio, highlighting specific technologies in the intelligent robotics sector where they had achieved a global lead.

It was all Greek to him, but it sounded impressive. Hassan was completely lost. To be honest, he couldn’t understand most of the jargon. He was no tech guru. He was a battle-hardened veteran, a rough-and-tumble hero at best, and knew absolutely nothing about high-tech.

But inside, he was just chanting, ’Badass! Fucking badass!’

His awe peaked during the product demonstration for the intelligent robots.

A robot dog stood in the demonstration area, while a large screen behind it displayed its various functions.

The level of its intelligence was simply outrageous!

This robot dog was rock-solid.

This dog-like machine was, in essence, a quadrupedal robot, just with the appearance of a dog.

The robot dog’s stability was incredible. In the video footage, a grown man kicked it from the side, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t knock it over.

It could walk on complex terrain and even do a backflip.

What’s more, the robot dog was small, and terrifyingly, also very quiet.

Hassan’s expression turned grim. His mind raced with the implications. If this thing could be used on a battlefield, it would not only reduce friendly casualties but would be an absolute nightmare for the enemy.

A machine is tireless, and its cost is far lower than that of a human life.

Xiao Li mentioned that this particular model could reach speeds of up to 15 kilometers per hour. ’Is this a robot dog or a bicycle?’ Hassan wondered.

And this was while traversing extremely complex terrain, like rugged mountain paths. The robot dog could even carry a load and operate continuously for six hours!

In the promotional video, the robot dog was carrying supplies. ’But what if that was a machine gun or explosives?’ Hassan mused. ’Even a squad of seasoned veterans like us would be helpless against something like that!’

’Unless you completely destroy it, it can just keep operating, even attacking. That’s terrifying!’

’What’s the cost of taking one out? Meanwhile, a single robot dog sells for less than 500,000. How could you possibly win a war of attrition!’

As he continued to watch, he saw the robot dog traverse slippery and extreme terrain as if it were level ground. Even when climbing, it maintained exceptional stability and balance.

If they were equipped with firearms and coordinated by AI... Hassan felt a chill on the back of his neck. ’Imagine a future battlefield. A pack of these things charging at you.’ The image alone was enough to send a shiver down his spine.

Later in the video, the robot dog lifted a full-grown man onto its back and still ran with astonishing speed!

It could leap from a three-meter-high wall and land perfectly stable.

’They’re just showing off,’ Hassan thought. ’Every single feature is a flex!’

When this part of the presentation concluded, Hassan was still staring, reluctant to look away. He quietly asked Xiao Qi, "Can this be modified for military use?"

Xiao Qi said, "Doctor Feng Robot Technology Group is a civilian high-tech enterprise; we don’t produce military-grade equipment. However, the line between civilian and military applications is very thin. It would only take a few modifications." Since she considered him an ally, she wasn’t holding anything back.

"Doctor Feng Robot Technology Group can provide all the necessary components. You can take them back to assemble and modify them yourself. Furthermore, Junxiao Capital will invest. You may run a security company, but who’s to say a security company can’t conduct its own research and development? What’s stopping you from assembling your own team of experts?"

Hassan grew excited. With this technology, the strength of his "security company" would skyrocket. It was like trading in a musket for a cannon—a leap from the Stone Age straight into the industrial era!

Chang Wei stood by, observing. He hadn’t spoken a word during Xiao Li’s presentation. He just watched as the international guest constantly whispered with the VIP, Chang Linlin—the very guest President Feng had personally entrusted to his care. They were conversing in a language he couldn’t understand, and he had no idea what it was.

For Chang Linlin was, in fact, Xiao Qi. Xiao Qi was her codename.
