Bai Jie wouldn’t dare think that way. The guy had a stunning woman in his passenger seat. ’Hoping for a reconciliation? Are you out of your mind?’
He didn’t want to follow behind the white Mercedes-Benz, eating its exhaust. More importantly, he felt it carried a hidden meaning—a sign that he was just indulging in wishful thinking.
He stomped on the gas and passed them. Chen Xiao, of course, didn’t notice them. When Zhao Xiangjun was with him, he only had eyes for her.
When he was heading down to the parking garage, he had already spoken with Mother Chen. He told her he’d met the woman, that they weren’t a good match, and that they had agreed not to bother each other again. It seemed they weren’t even suited to be friends.
Mother Chen said she understood and that she would be making a trip to Jiangzhou this week. What for? To meet the girlfriend he’d mentioned, of course.
For one, her son finally had a girlfriend, and she wanted to meet her. For another, she was worried her son might be tricking her.
On the way, Chen Xiao told Zhao Xiangjun about this. When she learned that Mother Chen was coming to meet her, she actually got a little nervous.

"Chen Xiao, are your parents teachers?"
She had never asked before. But she had just overheard Hua Jiao mention that the Teacher Wang they were talking about was a colleague of Chen Xiao’s parents, so she could naturally deduce that his parents were also teachers.

The two arrived at the vehicle entrance of the residential complex and saw a Tiguan blocking the way. The driver was negotiating something with the security guard.
Let alone high-end residences, even some basic housing complexes didn’t allow outside vehicles. Chen Xiao wasn’t in a hurry, so he just sat in the car and waited.
Bai Jie was mortified. He had promised to bring Hua Jiao in to see the sights, but the security guard wouldn’t let them pass.

"Can you bend the rules a little? Let us in. We’ll just take a stroll by the lake!"
Even though he was a colleague’s relative, the guard didn’t dare break the rules. A complaint from one of the residents inside would cost him his job.
He refused outright. Seeing the white Mercedes-Benz behind them, he quickly told Bai Jie to move his car aside. Bai Jie also realized he was blocking the road and pulled over to one side.
Then, as the Mercedes-Benz behind them passed the Tiguan L and entered the complex through the gate, Bai Jie and Hua Jiao exchanged a look. They both saw the shock and bewilderment in each other’s eyes.
In the end, they didn’t get in. Just as Bai Jie had said, people exist in different social circles. Some places you just can’t force your way into.
On the way back, Bai Jie and Hua Jiao were each lost in their own thoughts. They only exchanged a few brief words the entire time until Hua Jiao was back at her rented apartment. Clearly, her mind was in turmoil today.
Chen Xiao and Zhao Xiangjun, of course, had no idea they had inadvertently caused someone so much distress.
They bickered playfully all the way home.
"Xiangjun, if you don’t practice driving soon, this car is going to start rusting." Chen Xiao was referring to the Wisdom Realm R7.

As they went upstairs, Zhao Xiangjun told him about what had happened at the company over the past two days. She mentioned Zhang Shijie’s amiability, Wu Ting’s gentle and pleasant nature, and how the store manager was now being exceptionally friendly to her.
Chen Xiao smiled. He could guess the reason why.
"There’s no such thing as unearned affection in this world. Haven’t you figured that out yet, Chairman Zhao?"
Hmph! He called her Chairman Zhao, and she assumed he was joking about her 200,000 yuan investment in the store.
Inside the elevator, Zhao Xiangjun asked him curiously, "Why are you holding a manila envelope again?"
The last time he’d held a manila envelope, it had contained her home purchase contract and receipts.
Chen Xiao smiled and handed it to her. "Here, it’s for you."
Zhao Xiangjun took it, surprised and suspicious. "What is it?" she asked.
"Open it and see for yourself." As he spoke, he opened the door to Zhao Xiangjun’s apartment, and they both went inside.
Chen Xiao had just flopped onto the sofa when he saw Zhao Xiangjun’s stunned expression. She was hurriedly reading through the share transfer agreement in her hands.
She asked urgently, "Chen Xiao, this is a fake contract, right?"
He said, "The business registration has been updated, due diligence is done, internal approvals have been made, and the financial settlement is complete. You tell me if it’s real or fake."
"No, I mean, what on earth have you been doing?"
She felt like she was going crazy. Their relationship wasn’t even official yet, and he’d already given her an apartment. That was already absurdly over the top.
Not even two days later, he was giving her 10% of Yino Company’s shares. She was afraid that in a few more days, he might give her a publicly listed company.
Such a heavy gift was putting her under a lot of pressure.
Seeing how flustered she was, Chen Xiao pulled her over. "Don’t overthink it. I have more than enough money right now. When I see a good asset, I buy it."
"This 10% stake in Yino was a great deal. I profited the moment I bought it. Plus, they’re about to pay out dividends. You’ll be a little rich woman in no time!"
Zhao Xiangjun said in a low voice, "I don’t want to be a little rich woman."
Chen Xiao laughed. "You said before that you wanted to support me. How can you afford to support me if you’re not a little rich woman?"
Zhao Xiangjun huffed, her voice coquettish. "You could just eat less!"
Chen Xiao just laughed. Holding her, he didn’t want to talk; he wanted to act.
His large hands slid up and down her back, occasionally dipping lower.
She let out a soft "Mmm," and instinctively tried to push him away.
Chen Xiao said playfully, "I already touched it!"
Feeling the exquisite sensation under his hand, his mind raced with desire. Unable to control himself, he whispered in her ear, "Baby, I want..."
She no longer resisted. When a man gives so much before their relationship is even official, what other explanation could there be, except that he was madly in love with her?

All the little details of their life together were vivid in her mind, filling her heart with sweetness every time she recalled them.
Chen Xiao was overcome with excitement. He swept her up into his arms and carried her into the bedroom.
She wrapped her arms around his head, responding to him with equal passion all the way.
