My Days Building A Harem At A Japanese Girls' High School

Chapter 49: Norika Harada, Who Loves to Get Angry

  • Next Chapter

With Ruri Hosokawa egging her on, Haruka Himuro was starting to get tempted as well.

"But..."

Haruka hummed with a slight pout, "Ruri-chan, as you can see, I still have a lot of housework to do!"

"Why should you be the only one doing all these things?!" Ruri complained unhappily. "Haruka-chan, do you really consider yourself that bastard’s maid?"

"If not, what else?"

Haruka smiled faintly, though a thought remained hidden in her heart: Otherwise, by what right do I get to stay by his side?

"Honestly!" Ruri looked at Haruka with a helpless expression. Thinking it over, she realized that given Haruka’s personality, convincing her to change her mind would probably be quite difficult. So she sighed helplessly, "Fine! Haruka-chan, I’ll help you. Let’s speed things up together to finish all the housework, and then we’ll secretly trail that bastard!"

And so, the two girls began working together with full energy. Haruka was responsible for washing the dishes in the kitchen, while Ruri grabbed the vacuum cleaner to clean the floor—though there wasn’t really any dust on the floor to begin with, so Ruri was mostly just going through the motions.

Before long, Quillan finished showering and stepped out of the bathroom. Dressed in his suit, he actually looked quite sharp, though because of his young age, despite the mature attire, anyone could still tell at a single glance that he was just a tender teenage boy.

After bidding farewell to Haruka, Quillan stepped out the door.

The moment Quillan left, Ruri immediately tossed aside the vacuum cleaner and, without taking no for an answer, dragged Haruka out of the kitchen to secretly tail behind Quillan.

Reaching the entrance of the residential complex, Quillan initially felt that the distance to Norika Harada’s home wasn’t very far, just a ten-minute walk. However, to keep his suit in good condition, he still flagged down a taxi by the roadside.

"Hello."

Once Quillan got in, the driver asked politely, "Where to?"

As the driver spoke, the car started rolling forward. Just as Quillan was about to answer, his phone rang, so he pulled it out. It was right at this moment that Quillan missed seeing Ruri and Haruka emerge from the residential area and flag down a taxi of their own by the curb.

"Hello, Miss Harada." Unaware of his stalkers, Quillan spoke into his phone after connecting the call. "I’ve already set off and just left the complex. Did something come up?"

Norika Harada’s voice came through the phone: "Quillan, here’s the situation. My father just called saying they’ve already arrived at the bullet train station. Quillan, I want you to go to a hotel with me before we meet them!"

Quillan was immediately stunned. "A hotel? What for? Is your family staying there?"

"No," Norika replied. "There’s something I need to talk to you about. We need somewhere private."

"Is that so?" Quillan thought for a moment and said, "Alright, where should we meet up?"

"Of course I’ll drive over to pick you up." Norika said over the phone, "Just wait for me at the intersection of the commercial street!"

With a beep, the call was cut off. Quillan smacked his lips, then said to the driver, "Just drop me off at the commercial street intersection..."

"Uh?"

The driver was left speechless, quickly slamming on the brakes. He looked at Quillan with an innocent expression and said, "I’m sorry, but we’ve already passed the intersection... looks like we’re about a hundred meters past it!"

"Alright..."

The residential area was right next to the commercial street to begin with, so it was extremely close to the main intersection. In the brief time they were talking, they had already driven past it. Strictly speaking, it would have only taken a few minutes on foot, yet Quillan had taken a cab!

And right when he was strapped for cash, too...

After paying the fare, Quillan stared at the taxi receipt in his hand, feeling rather speechless and a bit pained over the wasted money!

If he had known earlier, he would have called Norika first!

Meanwhile, inside the taxi following behind, Ruri and Haruka were bewildered to see Quillan suddenly step out of his cab. The driver asked them, "Young ladies, as you requested... do I still need to follow that car ahead?"

"Uh..."

Ruri snapped back to her senses and said hurriedly, "Of course not! Can’t you see that bastard already got out? Honestly, taking a taxi for just a few steps... this Quillan really is a pervert!"

Haruka immediately spoke up in Quillan’s defense: "Ruri-chan, look at Master—it seems like he’s waiting for someone by the roadside. He probably had to get out due to an unexpected situation!"

"That makes sense too!" Ruri pondered for a moment. "So what should we do now?"

The driver was also getting a bit impatient and asked them, "So excuse me, should we drive ahead or stop here? I’m sorry, young ladies, but we can’t park right in front of the intersection!"

"Then just pull up a bit further ahead." Ruri thought for a moment and said, "Pardon me, driver, but we’re chartering your car for today! So from now on, please follow my orders!"

"Alright..." The driver shook his head, thinking to himself: Looks like I’ve run into a rich family’s young lady!

As long as there was money to be made, the driver was in no hurry, pulling over to the side as Ruri instructed.

Meanwhile, Quillan, who was standing by the curb, dialed Norika Harada’s phone: "Miss Harada, I..."

"Quillan, I’ve arrived!" Norika asked rather unhappily on the other end, "Where are you? Didn’t you say you left early?"

Quillan rolled his eyes and said, "Of course I left early, I’m just a little bit ahead of the intersection... What? What did you say?"

Norika had already hung up on the other end, and then Quillan heard the honk of a car horn. Turning around, he saw that it was indeed Norika’s car.

It turned out Norika had hung up because she had already spotted Quillan, so she drove straight over to his side.

When the car window rolled down and Quillan saw Norika’s face, he began getting into her car. Her cheeks were faintly flushed, and a subtle scent of alcohol lingered around her. Had she been drinking before coming to pick him up? Naturally, Norika’s expression at this moment was far from pleasant.

It was as if Quillan owed her money, so after getting into the car, Quillan asked her, "Miss Harada, I don’t think I did anything heinous, did I? What’s with that stony face of yours?"

"Didn’t I tell you to wait at the intersection?" Norika glared at Quillan in annoyance and said, "Yet you went way past the intersection, making me look for you for so long! Quillan, do you dare say you didn’t do that on purpose?"

Sigh, this short-tempered Norika and her knack for getting angry.

Quillan threw an annoyed glance at Norika, thinking to himself: Has early menopause officially kicked in for her?
