My Days Building A Harem At A Japanese Girls' High School
Chapter 70: Unreliable Older Sister
“Miyuki, how can you speak to your dear sister in that tone?”
Miyuki Sakurai’s older sister, Mika Sakurai, wore a look of fake distress. As she scolded Miyuki with a pouting voice, she sized up Quillan. Seeing that Quillan made no move to come over and greet her, Mika felt a bit displeased. She deliberately walked up to Miyuki’s side, linked her arm with hers, and led her forward, initiating a question: “Miyuki, is this handsome guy your friend? Ah, Miyuki, why are you blushing? Don’t tell me… the two of you are actually dating?”
Walking alongside the sister pair, Quillan was at a complete loss for words.
Was it written across both of their faces that they were dating? Why did almost everyone misunderstand them like this?
What proved most tragic to Quillan was that this cute girl, Miyuki, made no attempt whatsoever to explain their relationship to others. Instead, her face turned bright red, and she lapsed into silent embarrassment!
Wasn’t that as good as tacitly admitting it?
Quillan felt a surge of frustration. Although he had previously told Miyuki not to bother explaining, back then they were facing Kaoru Amatsuki—a complete stranger—so there had been no need to clarify anything.
But now they were facing Miyuki’s sister! This was not just someone Miyuki knew well, but her own flesh and blood—did she really not need to explain this time either?
“Sister!”
Miyuki caught a glimpse of Quillan’s expression and assumed he was irritated by her sister’s intrusion. Truth be told, Miyuki also felt Mika was crossing the line. She had finally summoned the courage to call Quillan and ask him to come over, intending to spend some quiet time alone with him. Now that a third person had crashed their walk, Miyuki was naturally unhappy and snapped at Mika, “Stop asking such strange questions, alright? Besides, you said yourself you were just going to the convenience store to grab a few things and head back—why are you following me? I’m going to work!”
“Going to work?”
Mika seemed completely oblivious to the annoyance in Miyuki’s voice. Instead, she flashed a warm smile and said, “I actually want to take a look at where you work, Miyuki! Sigh, now that I’ve dropped out of school, I plan to come back and start my own career. As you know, Father is extremely dissatisfied with my decision, and Mother doesn’t support me either. But even so, I will never give up on my dream!”
Then, Mika lowered her voice and said, “I’m definitely going to become a successful idol!”
“Sister!” Miyuki sighed helplessly, pouting her lips. “That dream of yours is completely unrealistic! To become an artist, a star—do you know how far-fetched that is? Besides… just the day before yesterday, I clearly overheard Father saying you were going to open an agency…”
“That was just an excuse I used! How could I have the money to start an agency?” Mika said stubbornly. “I don’t care how far-fetched it is; I believe in myself and know I will become a successful idol!”
“Sister, you… you actually lied to Father and Mother, keeping your real dream hidden all this time?” Miyuki was utterly stunned.
Becoming a successful artist/idol?
That dream…
It had to be said, Mika’s ambition was indeed quite grand.
Overhearing their conversation, Quillan took a closer look at Mika. Truth be told, with her voluptuous figure and striking features, being an artist was by no means out of her reach. What’s more, Mika knew how to apply makeup and dress up well; even though she was wearing simple loungewear, her light makeup gave her a polished, eye-catching, and effortless beauty.
The topic successfully shifted to Mika’s grand “dream.” In Miyuki’s eyes, Mika deceiving their parents just to hide her true ambition was practically unforgivable. Yet her older sister felt that lying to their parents for the sake of her dream was no big deal!
The two sisters argued back and forth the entire way, leaving Quillan with nothing to do as he trailed quietly behind the lovely duo.
“Honestly, even deceiving our parents… sister, how can you act like it’s nothing?” Miyuki continued her relentless lecturing, eventually pressing Mika directly, “Then, Sister, since you’ve worked so hard, may I ask if you’ve already found a talent agency willing to sign you?”
“Not yet!”
Mika declared without a hint of shame or blushing. “However, a few agencies have already reached out to me. They said they’ll arrange an audition for me in a few days. When the time comes, if you want to come watch, Miyuki, I’ll take you along. How about that?”
“No way…” Miyuki turned her head away, rejecting the offer without a second thought.
Mika gave a sly smirk, leaning into Miyuki’s ear to whisper in a voice only they could hear, “When the time comes, you can invite your handsome friend to tag along for fun! Wouldn’t that be a rare and wonderful opportunity for you, Miyuki?”
“Go with Quillan… really?”
At the mention of Quillan, Miyuki’s face suddenly flushed red. Her attention had been entirely consumed by scolding her unreliable sister, causing her to forget that Quillan was walking right behind them!
My naggy, relentless behavior just now… Quillan must have seen all of it! What should I do?
Miyuki grew anxious, while simultaneously imagining the possibility of using her sister’s audition as an excuse to invite Quillan out together…
At that moment, Mika leaned in closer once more, dangling another temptation in Miyuki’s ear in a whisper meant strictly for the two of them: “Really! Besides, once I enter the agency, I’ll be busy with makeup and auditions, so I definitely won’t interrupt your date with your precious Quillan! Tell me, isn’t your older sister being super thoughtful for you?”
Mika Sakurai’s suggestion was deeply tempting to Miyuki Sakurai; almost without a second thought, Miyuki nodded in compromise.
Then, turning back to look at Quillan, Miyuki’s face flushed red.
Carrying a mix of bashfulness and subtle excitement, Miyuki refrained from arguing with Mika for the rest of the walk.
Instead, after just a few sentences, she was completely coaxed over by Mika. Now, Miyuki no longer found her older sister unreliable; on the contrary, she felt immensely grateful to Mika for coming up with such an idea!
