My Enemy Became My Cultivation Companion

Chapter 1488 - 804: Tai Sha Sword (Double Update Combined)

Master Yunzhou realized he couldn't use Divine Realm Communication to make the White Lotus Saint Mother avoid this sword, so he suddenly appeared behind Chen Yi, attempting to outflank by rescuing Zhao. He held the long sword taken from the Inspection Department spy, wielding it with his right hand as he snapped his left fingers into a Thunder Technique gesture, releasing a black lightning bolt that followed closely.

Yet, in the instant just over ten zhang away from Chen Yi's back.

A splash of red light flashed by, instantly shattering the long sword and dispersing the black lightning.

Master Yunzhou was puzzled, but when he clearly saw the outline he'd only encountered in ancient texts before, his eyes involuntarily trembled.

Tai Sha Sword...

The Mountain Guardian Sword, the ancestral weapon of Dragon and Tiger Mountain.

Capable of slaying Evil Immortals!

Elsewhere, as Chen Yi approached, the White Lotus Saint Mother's hand did not relax; instead, her wrist twisted inward as if she was turning an invisible valve.

Chen Yi's charging figure slightly slowed.

In the void ahead, without warning, seven or eight bowl-sized gray-white lotuses blossomed. These lotuses were not tangible; their petal edges shimmered with an unsettling gray hue. Upon appearing, they spun dizzily, charging at Chen Yi.

The air emitted a corrosive sizzle wherever the gray-white lotuses passed, emanating an eerie chill that directly pierced the Divine Soul, causing one's blood to stagnate and the Spirit Platform to dull.

Chen Yi swung arcs of impenetrable darkness with his Hou Kang Sword, like a black dragon's tail, slicing toward the gray-white lotuses.

Sword Gang clashed with the lotuses, but slicing into them felt like striking water; the lotuses dissolved upon meeting the sword, becoming denser clusters of gray-white deathly aura, clinging to the sword like marrow bones, attempting to corrode the Hou Kang Sword and the Sword Intent World.

Chen Yi's brow furrowed slightly, his mind spurred into action. Sword Intent World suddenly contracted inward, then explosively expanded outward, trying to forcibly disperse the persistent deathly aura with Sword Gang.

However, sweeping Sword Gang across didn't scatter the gray-white deathly aura; instead, it seemed enraged, growing thicker and denser. It stopped clashing with Sword Intent, shifting to countless tiny tendrils slipping through the gaps in Sword Intent and the ripples of Gang Wind, permeating relentlessly.

Chen Yi felt as if his Sword Intent had fallen into a boundless gray swamp, resistance increasing with each swing, the struggle only deepening entrapment.

The White Lotus Saint Mother's beautiful face revealed an icy smile; her re-extended fingers plucked as if strumming invisible strings.

As her finger moved, the gray-white deathly aura around Chen Yi subtly transformed, no longer merely corroding but interweaving into a mysterious sinister network.

The air grew unusually heavy, light dimmed further, and from the ground within ten zhang of Chen Yi's center, clusters of phantom lotus leaves sprouted without origin. They appeared vivid, with dull white light flowing across the leaves, connecting edge to edge, layering upwards to form a bowl-like silhouette.

Simultaneously, dust from the sky, plant ashes, and shattered stone debris from earlier battles were drawn by an invisible force field, revolving and settling around Chen Yi, merging into the network woven by the gray-white lotus leaf shadows.

Like a cage.

Enveloped within, Chen Yi felt the pressure around him suddenly increase as if burdened by an invisible mountain, his Sword Intent World's operation severely suppressed, contact with the outside becoming obscure, even breathing felt stifled, air inhaled only carried the scent of decaying dust.

Even more troubling, he sensed his Sword Intent being extracted strand by strand, nourishing the cage itself.

The White Lotus Saint Mother intended to exhaust him within this cage.

Elsewhere, the battle remained tense.

After shattering the sword cast by Master Yunzhou and dispersing the black lightning, the Tai Sha Sword didn't return to Chen Yi but paused in mid-air, emitting a sharp sword cry.

The sword vibrated continuously, blood-red light flickering, pervading an intensely fierce sword intent, locking onto the shocked Master Yunzhou nearby.

Having awaited this day during its long dormancy in the Sword Box, now facing an enemy half-steeped in the Demon Path, a confirmed Evil Immortal, it savored exactly the taste it craved.

Master Yunzhou's eye twitched uncontrollably at the sight of the menacing red ancient sword.

"Tai Sha... in this boy's hand..."

His heart was filled with doubt and surprise, yet this moment left him no time to ponder, for that furious sword moved once more.

Without needing Chen Yi's command, the Tai Sha Sword twisted its body, transforming into a bloodline aimed directly at Master Yunzhou's face.

The chilling sword intent gave Master Yunzhou a sense of frost between his brows, and he uttered a low cry, not daring to delay. He activated Divine Realm Communication, disappearing from where he stood and reappearing on a roof ridge three zhang away.

However, as soon as he appeared, the bloodline curved impossibly in mid-air, following him closely, with the sword tip flashing dark red cold light, targeting his throat.

Master Yunzhou's pupils contracted in shock; this sword seemed to predict his landing spot.

No longer relying solely on evasion, he formed his right hand into a sword gesture, gathering a mass of Primordial Qi at his fingertips, thrusting swiftly at the piercing sword tip.

Clang!

The collision flooded the air with the sound of clashing gold stones, Qi Force exploded, and Master Yunzhou felt an incomparable sharp and fierce sword intent through his fingertips. His entire arm became instantly numb, forcing him to slide back several steps, shattering tiles beneath his feet.

The Tai Sha Sword was also jolted back several feet yet rapidly stabilized its position, its sword body humming even more intensely, seemingly incited to higher ferocity by the collision.

Rather than hastening to stab, it flew in loops, forming a blood-red veil, weaving through and around Master Yunzhou, its sword Qi shredding nearby roofs' eaves and beams into fragments, smoke and dust billowing.

Master Yunzhou's face grew stern, compelled to devote the majority of his focus to dealing with this highly spirited yet overwhelmingly fierce Flying Sword.

One man and sword fought tirelessly within the sky above these rooftops.

Chen Yi was caught in an increasingly solid gray-white cage, pressure building, yet he spared a strand of consciousness on Tai Sha Sword's battle, seeing the sword indeed tying down Master Yunzhou, providing some relief; at least he needn't face a two-pronged attack temporarily.

But the immediate predicament, he still must break it quickly.

His gaze swept across the ever-growing phantom gray-white lotus leaves around him, feeling the stronger suppressive force.

"Trying to trap me to death here?"

Chen Yi murmured to himself, holding the Hou Kang Sword, its black sheen restrained, extracting from Heart Lake a singularly unusual glow to attach to the sword,

"Sorry, I can bend reality to my will."
