My Ex-Husband Always Knew That I Had Cheated on Him
Chapter 443 - 418: Truly Ironic
Ha, Alexander Johnson.
Her heart, like being pricked by needles, ached a little.
Did she really have no other choice?
In the following days, Chloe Simpson racked her brains, but going round and round, this truly seemed to be the fastest way.
How ironic!
She was sent to Alexander Johnson’s bed by her own husband.
Entangled with this man for so long.
When about to give up, she realized he was her young love.
But reality stood between them, being under house arrest by the Johnson Family, driven to the last straw, she could only leave.
Yet in the end, for the sake of avenging her mother, she’d have to go back to him.
The autumn wind blew through the window in bursts, carrying a chill that swept down the falling leaves from the trees.
Chloe Simpson watched the yellowed leaves fluttering down.
All that had happened before flashed through her mind.
She didn’t know what she was feeling.
It wasn’t pain, nor was it uncomfortable.
But rather a numbness.
As if nearing one’s death, their heart being excavated.
Stuffed with so much cotton.
Blood couldn’t flow, nor was there any sensation of pain.
She just stood there, not knowing how long she had been standing by the window.
She only snapped back to reality when the voice of Alan Johnson came from behind.
"The doctor just said, you can be discharged tomorrow."
Alan Johnson spoke while setting the table.
"Okay."
Chloe Simpson nodded.
Turning back, she looked at Alan Johnson thoughtfully.
Even though she exhausted her mind, she couldn’t figure out what Alan Johnson’s intentions were, why he treated her so well.
If it was truly just because Emily Sterling saved his mother, did he need to treat her like this?
After dinner, lying in the hospital bed.
In the darkness, Chloe Simpson looked at Alan Johnson.
Recollecting the events that happened during this time in the hospital.
Alan Johnson hadn’t left her side for half a month.
Doesn’t he need to work?
Most of the time, even in the hospital, they were each on their own phone.
Alan Johnson would sometimes use a computer.
But the second master of the Johnson Family, with Alexander as the future heir, returned.
Still staying in the hospital taking care of her, the woman rumored to have an affair with his nephew and constantly in the news.
It couldn’t be as simple as it appeared on the surface.
The entire night, even in her sleep, her mind was filled with Alexander Johnson and Alan Johnson.
In the end, she even dreamed of Alexander and Alan fighting over her.
Alexander Johnson pointed a gun to her head, asking her who she would choose.
He said she only had three seconds.
Then, "bang," a gunshot rang out.
She woke up drenched in cold sweat.
Opened her eyes to see she was in the hospital, remembered she was being discharged today, and let out a long breath.
"What’s wrong? Did you have a nightmare? Dreams are usually the opposite."
Alan Johnson noticed Chloe Simpson sweating, handed her a tissue.
"!"
Chloe Simpson didn’t take the tissue from Alan Johnson’s hand.
Instinctively, she followed up on what Alan Johnson said.
Dreams are the opposite.
So, Alexander Johnson and Alan Johnson would have nothing to do with her in the end.
And her dream of avenging her mom was just that—a dream.
Just as she was dazed, her phone buzzed in her hand.
Chloe Simpson came back to her senses, glanced at it; a message from a mysterious man.
She opened it, saw the content.
Instantly, she was shocked.
The message was a photo, showing a figure covered in blood and flesh.
Chloe Simpson enlarged it, carefully looking at that face.
"Clang," the phone fell to the ground.
No!
Impossible!
Mom... Mom!
