Chapter 415 - 415: Invasion
Just as the claw condensed from pink fog was about to kill the Sage, the skies above them were suddenly torn open.
From the torn space, hundreds and thousands of figures could be seen, causing everyone's hair to stand on end, whether they were human mages or magic beasts.
These thousands of people radiated immense pressure. The weakest among them had the cultivation of peak Senior Mages, while the stronger ones were all at the Great Mage Rank.
To this date, the Savage Beast Realm has only had three Great Mages. Two were born naturally in the realm, and one of them only appeared due to mysterious circumstances.
However, this fleet of people actually had thousands of Great Mages, which was simply overkill. Just dozens of Great Mages alone were already more than enough to level the entire realm, leaving the natives with no ability to resist.
"Hmm, this realm is only a low-level third rank. It can barely produce three Great Mages. They are still meat."
The leading person, the peak Great Mage Rank Captain, spoke. His eyes scanned the realm, completely disregarding the realm's natives.
In his eyes, all these people did not have much difference, whether they were humans or magic beasts. The only difference was their selling point.
The stronger and more beautiful they were, the more expensive they could be sold for. The opposite was also true. The weaker and uglier they were, the less they could be sold for.
In the Captain's eyes, they were not living beings but mere commodities. He did not even need his subordinates to dominate this realm.
A single peak Great Mage could easily erase the existence of mere low-cycle Great Mages.
The only reason why he brought his subordinates with him was that the realms are large. He could not possibly control the whole realm and ensure that all natives were rounded up on his own.
He needed enough manpower to cover the whole realm. Only then would 'packing' the items be fast.
"Capture the natives," the Captain ordered, and several Great Mages made their move.
Their disdain was evident. After all, using several Great Mages with higher cultivation realms was more than enough to deal with a few low-level Great Mages.
"W-who are you?"
As the language used by the slave traders was the common tongue of the universe, which was different from the language of the people in the Savage Beast Realm, they could not understand what they were saying.
However, mages have excellent learning abilities. From the way these people looked at them while speaking, they still knew that they were not here for a good reason.
"Tsk, they don't even know the universe's common tongue. How backward," the Captain said in disdain. He could not even be bothered to make a move personally. He thought that it was beneath him.
"They are slave traders. They are here to invade the Savage Beast Realm and sell the natives," Elder Priss explained, and the Guardian was stunned.
Slave traders? Sell the natives?
He could understand these words, but the Guardian did not know how to interpret them.
Elder Priss did not bother speaking more, as she knew that this was not a good thing. If no miracle appeared, the whole realm would definitely be enslaved.
While she could summon enough power to kill all of the slave traders, doing so would result in grave consequences, and the things she had worked hard for would be wasted.
There was only one choice moving forward, and that was to flee. Using the broken mirror, Elder Priss could send Headmaster Triss and Treen outside of the realm.
If luck was on their side, Treen and Triss could land in a civilized and safe realm, which would give them a high chance of surviving.
With a wave of her hand, Elder Priss threw the Sage towards the Great Mages approaching them.
"Hmph, what can throwing a beast even do?" one of the slave traders scoffed. He was a mid-cycle Great Mage. As such, he naturally looked down on these natives. He alone could defeat and kill all three of them.
His guard was at its lowest, and he even proactively approached the turtle that was thrown out, intending to slap it to death.
However, as soon as he touched the turtle, its mana suddenly went berserk, and in less than a second, the turtle exploded.
Bang!
Just like that, the so-called Sage of the magic beasts died miserably without even leaving an intact corpse.
It was forced to self-destruct by Elder Priss!
The fragile space of the Savage Beast Realm stood no chance against such power. Fragments of space were blown away, and the surroundings became a complete mess.
Unfortunately, even after self-destructing, the mid-cycle Great Mage still did not die, though he looked even more miserable than before.
He was able to erect a barrier that saved his life, but he was still injured, which made him feel disgusted and humiliated.
How dare mere slaves make a fool of him like this!
"Hahaha, Suno, you look really miserable!"
"You shot yourself in the foot, hahaha!"
"That's what you get for being careless!"
The other slave traders laughed while pointing their fingers at Suno. Their words deepened his sense of humiliation, and he wanted nothing more than to kill the woman who threw the turtle at him.
"Tsk, what a disgrace," the fat Captain clicked his tongue in annoyance. Who would have thought that the first exchange with the backward natives would end in such a disgrace?
"I will kill you!" Suno shouted angrily, his mana gathering in his fist, intending to kill Elder Priss with a single punch to wash away his humiliation.
However, what they did not expect was that Elder Priss would actually explode with an overwhelming level of power.
"Freeze!" she muttered as pink fog suddenly enveloped all the slave traders, and the pink fog rendered them unable to move.
Whether they were Senior Mages or Great Mages, all of them actually froze in place, even if it was just for a split second.
In that split second, Elder Priss flew towards the direction where Triss and Treen were located.
Her originally cold eyes had become several degrees colder. The little bit of emotion she possessed was seemingly erased.
Whether it was her eyes or face, no part of her exhibited the essence of a human with feelings and emotions. It was as if she had become an emotionless machine with only one goal in mind.
Her power outburst only stalled the slave traders for a split second, and they immediately regained their ability to move.
"What the hell was that? Capture that woman and take her to me. She must be hiding some secret!" the Captain roared. His voice shook the realm, and his henchmen did his bidding.
They immediately flew in the direction that the audacious woman had fled. There were also some of them who decided to 'take care' of the Guardian and bound him with magic.
This was not because they did not dare to kill him. It was just that killing a Great Mage, even though he was already in his twilight years, was such a shame.
If they sold him, he could still fetch some cash.
However, the Guardian spent his whole life ensuring humanity's survival. That was his life's only purpose.
He might not understand these people's language, but their actions spoke louder than words.
They were not friendly visitors, and at worst, Elder Priss might even be correct. These invaders might be here to capture and sell the living beings of the Savage Beast Realm.
The Guardian would rather die than watch such a thing happen!
As such, despite being bound, he tried his best to get close to as many invaders as possible before deciding to self-destruct as well.
Boom!
Once again, space was shattered, and a massive explosion of energy occurred. The Senior Mages who were not able to react in time were directly blown into pieces.
There were also a couple of early-cycle Great Mages who went down with him.
Just like that, the era of the magic beasts' Sage and humanity's Guardian came to an end. Their fates were similar; they both self-destructed, although one was willing and the other was forced.
The realm itself might have had a design for what the era was meant to become, but it was not the Heavens of the whole universe. Its power was limited to the limits of the realm itself.
With these invaders, the will of the realm did not stand a chance and could only let the tragedy happen.
For a realm that could only support the birth of two Great Mages on its own, even if it were to give birth to a Heaven's Chosen, how could the Heaven's Chosen fight enemies who were beyond the capability of the realm itself?
There was simply no chance of winning, and the only fate for all the beings of this realm was to be sold like commodities, leaving behind only a few sparks of life to allow the realm to continue giving birth to even more commodities.
