Even though Anton spent several hours talking with Paul and Eric about Diablo II, he still wasn't tired. He spent the rest of the night watching a comedy sitcom.

The following morning, Anton checked out of the hotel and began gathering information about the two magical organizations based in Remuth.

He didn't even have to ask for directions since people everywhere were discussing them.

Anton found himself particularly interested in the organization known as Traveler's Haven. According to the local rumor mill, its specialty was exploring distant lands for adventure—including journeys into other dimensions.

He also liked that Traveler's Haven seemed to be a relatively neutral organization. The only thing he disliked was its name, which sounded more like a tavern than a prestigious magical institution. Still, he found it amusing when someone jokingly pointed that out in a tavern, and no one objected. Apparently, the organization didn't mind people poking fun at its name.

Another rumor caught his attention.

Traveler's Haven was said to be extremely tolerant of trivial matters, but anyone who harmed one of its members without just cause—or insulted the organization's honor—would quickly learn why its vengeance was feared throughout the continent.

Anton listened quietly while sipping a drink in a tavern, absorbing every story and rumor surrounding the various magical organizations.

He wasn't particularly surprised that no one seemed disturbed by Traveler's Haven's reputation for ruthless retaliation. From what he overheard, every major magical organization in Izmorta behaved similarly when their members were threatened.

Once he had gathered enough information, Anton set out to find Traveler's Haven himself.

After nearly three hours of walking through the sprawling city, he finally reached its territory.

Traveler's Haven occupied an enormous section of southern Remuth, and its grounds extended far beyond the city's walls. From a distance alone, it looked like a city within a city.

Curious, Anton cast Invisibility before quietly flying high into the air for a brief look.

He remained airborne for only a few seconds, unwilling to risk attracting the attention of powerful local wizards.

From above, he saw that Traveler's Haven was surrounded by a colossal wall.

Within its grounds stood numerous towering structures, many of which rivaled the skyscrapers of Earth's most advanced cities.

Even during his brief observation, Anton noticed countless people moving throughout the complex.

Initially, he had expected everyone to wear some form of uniform, but it quickly became obvious that Traveler's Haven wasn't a school in the conventional sense. Its members dressed however they pleased.

He also saw people of every age and race.

Elves.

Dwarves.

Halflings.

Humans.

And many others.

That single glimpse filled Anton with excitement.

His blood seemed to boil at the thought of learning the skills necessary to travel freely between worlds.

He also noticed where prospective applicants gathered.

However, he had no intention of applying just yet.

He was still waiting for Paul and Eric to complete their mission. Only after he was certain that the so-called rebirth process wouldn't affect his Diablo System would he submit his own application.

Since he expected to remain in Remuth for a while, Anton decided to purchase a permanent residence near Traveler's Haven.

His only concern was whether being a citizen from another continent would complicate the process.

After asking for directions, he located the nearest real estate agency.

The moment he introduced himself as a Supreme-rank wizard from Ormunda, the staff became exceptionally accommodating.

Anton explained that he wanted a property close to Traveler's Haven because a relative of his planned to apply there.

Even as he said it, he still couldn't help thinking that the organization's name sounded more like an inn than a magical institution.

After reviewing several listings, one property immediately caught his attention.

It was a charming two-story cottage located beside a public park.

Its secluded location appealed to him the most.

The agent personally escorted him to the property.

The moment Anton saw it, he fell in love with the place.

During the purchase process, however, he learned something unexpected.

Paying for the property didn't mean he actually owned the land.

Instead, all land within the Kingdom of Remuth belonged to the crown. Property owners merely leased the land beneath their buildings.

Lease terms ranged from a minimum of twenty years to a maximum of two hundred years.

After learning the rules, Anton paid three hundred thousand gold coins to lease the property for one hundred years.

It was an expensive purchase.

He had paid the same amount for Rose Manor and had obtained complete ownership of both the estate and the surrounding land. Compared to that enormous property, this modest cottage occupied far less space.

The difference made Anton realize just how expensive land in Remuth truly was.

Fortunately, money wasn't an issue.

His movie business with the elves of Meronoma had earned him a tremendous fortune.

Even after purchasing the cottage—known as the Librarian's Cottage—he still possessed more than enough wealth.

Nor was he worried about future income.

Remuth contained several dungeons, and if necessary, he could always delve into them to gather mana stones.

The real estate agent handling the sale was visibly delighted.

Few clients paid the entire amount upfront without attempting to negotiate.

After Anton received the official documents granting him the lease to the Librarian's Cottage, he felt deeply satisfied.

Curious, he asked why the property carried that name.

The agent explained that the original owner who built the cottage had worked as a librarian in one of Remuth's libraries.

With the transaction complete, Anton happily made his way to his new home.

He was pleased to discover that it came fully furnished.

The furniture appeared antique and exceptionally well-crafted, giving the cottage an elegant atmosphere.

He was also pleasantly surprised by how clean everything already was.

Even so, he spent the next several hours repeatedly casting the Cleaning spell until every corner of the house was spotless.

Once he finished inside, he stepped into the front courtyard.

The yard looked somewhat barren.

Not a single flower or shrub decorated it.

Anton briefly considered planting a garden but quickly dismissed the idea.

He knew he wouldn't have time to maintain one, nor did he want to hire a gardener or any other servant.

If he was accepted into Traveler's Haven, he expected to spend most of his time within the organization anyway, leaving the cottage empty for long periods.

Some people might have considered purchasing such a property a waste of money.

Anton disagreed.

He simply liked the idea of having a place he could truly call his own.

More importantly, the cottage would serve as the location where he established a permanent portal back to Rose Manor.

After cleaning the courtyard, Anton stood quietly and admired his new home.

He didn't mind that the yard lacked greenery.

Just beyond the front gate lay a beautiful public park.

Anyone who wanted to enjoy flowers and trees merely had to take a short walk outside.

Besides, the courtyard itself wasn't very large.

What Anton appreciated most was that nearly every window in the cottage overlooked the park, giving him peaceful views filled with trees instead of neighboring houses.

The nearby greenery also made the area pleasantly cool.

Anton found the slightly chilly atmosphere comfortable.

The only drawback was the location.

Whenever he wanted to visit restaurants, markets, or other establishments in the city, he would have to walk for more than fifteen minutes.

Even so, he considered the inconvenience a small price to pay for the privacy his new home provided.
