’’HAAAAA!!!’’

The two armies let out battle cries, charging towards each other at full speed.

BOOOOM!

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

They collided with one another.

The shield-bearing soldiers and knights at the front of Whitemane’s formation desperately held their ground.

But within moments, several sections began to collapse.

Deres knights broke through the positions defended by ordinary soldiers, sending the surrounding formations into chaos.

Screams and shouts immediately filled the air as weapons clashed and blood splattered across the ground.

Having made his way to the front, John was amongst the first to engage.

SWISH!

His spear shot forward, piercing through a soldier’s throat.

Without hesitation, he pulled it free and sliced horizontally through the air.

PUCHI! PUCHI! PUCHI!

The aura-covered spearhead carved through the bodies of several soldiers.

But there was no time to celebrate.

With the formation broken, soldiers had started coming from his sides as well.

’That’s not good,’ he thought, his expression shifting.

John almost couldn’t believe it.

Even while the number of enemies charging in was severely limited by the entrance’s size, they’d somehow made the scene this chaotic within moments.

Kicking back, he swiftly swung his spear through the air.

SWISH! SWISH!

Blood burst through the air instantly.

’’ARGH!’’

’’FUCK!’’

The two who’d come for his sides stumbled forward.

One desperately held his stomach, blood slowly seeping through.

The other had already collapsed, his innards covering the floor like a bed.

John quickly glanced around.

’Did their knights mix in with the soldiers?’ he thought, his brows furrowing.

With dozens of soldiers running around, he simply couldn’t find them!

And he didn’t get much time to search either.

Having seen his strength, a dozen soldiers had gathered and started charging towards him.

John’s expression shifted slightly.

’The spear isn’t suited for this,’ he thought. ’I need something that can clear more space.’

’Time to change weapons.’

Without hesitation, John returned his spear to his back.

Then, he reached for another weapon.

CLINK!

Two curved sickles connected by a long chain appeared in his hands.

’’Come on then!’’ he roared.

SWOOOSH!

John swung out his arm.

The chain immediately shot out, covering nearly ten meters in range.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

One of the aura-covered sickles carved straight through the approaching soldiers’ weapons.

The other quickly followed up, sweeping across the necks of the same men.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Five men collapsed in one go.

But John wasn’t finished.

He jumped forward and twisted his body, redirecting the chain’s momentum towards the remainder of the group.

SWISH!

A soldier’s body was cut in half from shoulder to waist.

THUD!

John’s chain slammed into the ground.

Without hesitation, he used it to pull himself forward.

Twisting his body at the same time, the second sickle shot out horizontally with far more length than usual.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Halfway through his swing, nearly fifteen bodies had already hit the floor.

CLANG!

His sickle suddenly came to a stop.

Not too far away, it had plunged into a Deres knight’s shield.

For a moment, the two stared at each other.

’Finally,’ John thought. ’A knight.’

But before he could even take a step, a reflection of light suddenly appeared above the man.

CRTCH!

A large scythe covered in dark red aura plunged into the knight’s skull.

The man instantly lost all signs of life, collapsing to the floor.

’Huh?’

BOOOOM!

A large explosion rang out only a moment later.

Several small, dark red arcs shot through the air at random.

They cut into soldiers left and right, slicing off their heads, drilling large holes through their chests, and more.

At the center of it all stood Paul, still excitedly swinging his large scythe around.

’’HAHAHAHA!’’

With a wild laugh, he jumped into another group of soldiers.

SWOOOSH!

The tip of his scythe plunged into the ground.

A large wave of dark red aura burst from the floor in every direction.

The soldiers surrounding him felt their legs explode in an instant.

Their blood didn’t splatter on the ground, though.

It floated back towards Paul, disappearing into his body.

Only after that did he jump away to another group, vanishing from John’s sight.

’What the fuck... did I just witness?’

John didn’t even want to think about it.

Instead, now that he finally had space, he wanted to see the situation around him.

With one clean motion, he took his spear off his back and drove its tip into the ground.

Then, using the shaft as a foothold, he leaped onto its end and balanced above the battlefield.

’What the...’ he thought, looking around. ’How did I advance this deep into enemy lines?’

Quickly shaking his head, he focused back on his goal.

It didn’t take long before he spotted Frederic, fighting against a two-seal knight in a large circle devoid of other soldiers.

Aura enveloped both their weapons as they exchanged blow after blow.

The enemy knight suddenly raised his sword, a violent surge of aura gathering around its blade.

Frederic immediately brought up his shield.

BAAAAANG!

The impact sent cracks spreading across the ground.

Yet Frederic stepped forward.

An almost-orange aura erupted around his shield.

BOOOM!

With a powerful shield slam, he pushed the enemy knight back.

The man’s body slammed into a thick wooden post, his aura already flaring up.

But before he could fight back, another figure appeared beside him.

WHOOSH!

Peter’s spear shot forward repeatedly.

The knight managed to block the first few strikes, but his awkward position left him exposed.

SWISH!

The spearhead slipped past his defense and pierced straight through his throat.

As the man collapsed, Peter and Frederic exchanged a nod before rushing toward their next target.

John smiled slightly.

’As expected,’ he thought, feeling a little relief. ’They’ll hold their own.’

BOOOOM!!!

A deafening explosion suddenly rang out on the wall.

John instantly looked up.

Far to the left, Roderic, George, and Henry stood around a cloud of dust.

As the dust began to clear, Baron Aldric’s figure appeared, his longsword plunged into the ground.

Within moments, they began exchanging attacks once more.

It truly looked like a struggle, with neither side managing to gain a decisive advantage.

’The young lord will be fine,’ he thought.

Then, his gaze shifted towards the other two battles on the wall.

His expression immediately grew solemn.

Arthur was fighting Baldwin.

And unlike Roderic’s battle, the situation was clearly worsening.

CLANG!

Baldwin’s greatsword collided with Arthur’s longsword.

Despite having blocked the attack, strands of almost invisible aura swept across Arthur’s shoulder.

Tiny cuts appeared one after another, spraying blood into the air.

And by the looks of Arthur’s body, it clearly hadn’t been the first time.

Arthur gritted his teeth and pushed forward with all his might.

WHOOSH!

Baldwin jumped back several steps.

With a ferocious grin, he immediately counterattacked.

SWISH! SWISH!

Several more tiny cuts appeared across Arthur’s armor before penetrating his skin.

Watching the fight, John couldn’t help but swallow hard.

With each exchange, Arthur’s movements seemed to be growing slower.

’Not good,’ he thought, gritting his teeth.

Desperation flashed across his face.

There was one way to turn this around.

But as his gaze shifted to the final fight, his expression changed completely.

BOOM!

Harris was sent stumbling back, barely managing to remain standing.

Blood seeped from his armor, dripping onto the ground below.

Several deep cuts stretched across his arms and shoulders, while his breathing was visibly difficult.

Standing opposite him was Barressa.

The three-seal knight appeared almost completely unharmed.

Barressa’s mouth moved as he approached Harris, a cruel smile stretching across his face.

Although John couldn’t hear his words, the man’s mocking expression made his intentions obvious.

Harris remained silent, though, forcing himself to raise his sword.

But even from this distance, John could see his arm trembling.

CRACK!

Barressa suddenly lunged forward.

CLANG!

Harris barely managed to block his attack.

Barressa instantly twisted around and swung his leg out.

BOOM!

The kick slammed into Harris’s stomach, sending him staggering back.

Barressa walked after him slowly, hurling insult after insult.

John swallowed hard as his heart sank.

’He’s going to lose,’ he thought.

His gaze flickered toward Arthur, who was still desperately defending against Baldwin.

Then toward Roderic, who remained occupied with Aldric.

Nobody could help Harris.

And if Barressa defeated him, there would be nothing stopping the three-seal knight from joining another battlefield.

The consequences of that... spoke for themselves.

’It’s early,’ he thought, clenching his fists. ’But I have to.’

’If I don’t step in now, Captain Harris will die.’

And then they’d all lose.

Without another moment of hesitation, he jumped off his spear.

Reaching behind his back, he retrieved his chain sickles and swung one toward a large wooden post.

CLINK!

The chain wrapped tightly around it.

John immediately kicked off the ground.

Using the chain’s momentum, he launched himself over the soldiers below.

THUD!

Landing back on the ground, he let go of his weapon and raised his head.

His gaze instantly locked onto a familiar cloth-covered wagon.

’Young lord,’ John thought, burning with determination. ’I won’t disappoint you!’
