My Kaiju Parasite Revived Me, But a Yandere Bought My Streaming Rights
Chapter 384: No One Holds The Diversion
Boro Tann answered the Woman without asking Kiri to answer with him.
"Ash Quarter will not buy a corridor with her forty-three people."
Kiri kept her hands behind her back.
"Far trench will not buy one with his twenty-eight."
The carrier load entered the firebreak again. Ash Quarter’s tram body slid across its buried wheels. Kiri’s bent Ridge rail drove deeper beneath the cooking shelter. The Woman’s five-segment corridor stayed open beside them, fast enough to save either group and unable to carry both.
Her injured host lost her footing. The two people supporting her lowered her onto a chair without closing any keeper’s segment.
"Then my offer remains unused," the Woman said. "Name the equipment you want measured."
Elara put four damaged diagrams beside each other at Mercy. The exposed joint had closed. Caleb had no landing. Ash Quarter’s left collar still opened into red soil, and the storage building still had nineteen rack cuts wide enough for a person.
Kestrel compared the soil on both sides. The grains shared carrier residue but no verified route.
"We can test one empty tram wheel," Boro said.
Mevi Durr released a wheel from the carriage. Boro rolled it through the left collar. It vanished into red soil and struck the storage floor beneath Rack Eleven.
The wheel stayed current.
"One object relation," Farah said. "No body route yet."
They sent a sandbag with an Ash Quarter keeper line tied around it. The bag reached Rack Eleven without changing weight. A live beetle in a vented jar crossed next and kept moving. Boro asked for a human volunteer.
He received three answers.
The first resident withdrew after seeing the collar narrow. The second had a dependent child and refused the unoccupied test. Tram worker Jessa Vull accepted after Mevi showed both releases and the storage crew added a hand-held return rope.
Jessa crossed feet first. Rack Eleven put her onto storage concrete with a dislocated thumb and red cuts across both ankles. She answered her name, employer, current injury, and withdrawal choice. Then she refused a return test.
"Route takes people one direction," she said. "That is enough for me."
Twenty-seven Ash Quarter residents formed separate travel answers. Mevi chose to cross last because the right collar had to remain open until the tram roof passed to Kiri’s side. Boro stayed beside the left release.
Kiri rejected the whole tram roof as one support.
"Cut it into four pieces. Four row keepers."
The eleven tram workers split roof braces with hand saws while the carrier pressed on their wheels. Sparks were forbidden near the broken water line. Each piece took longer than a powered cut and kept its own bolts.
Kiri assigned one piece to the treatment shelter, one to the cooking roof, one to the fractured water feed, and one to open ground. Each row could release without dropping all forty-three people.
The Woman offered two empty corridor panels as temporary work floors. Their keepers named twelve-second limits. Kiri accepted one under the water-feed crew. Boro accepted the other beneath the tram saws. Neither panel carried a person or joined the withdrawals.
The carrier hit again.
Rack Eleven narrowed around the fourth Ash Quarter traveler. Storage worker Veki Orl put an evidence trolley under the upper edge. The trolley folded. Veki pulled her arm out with a broken wrist before the rack cut closed on it.
Daro Quill moved Mira’s Ward stops without a ward sequence. Tower Three released its empty east plate. Orin kept both lift gears. Tower Nine turned its western stop three degrees after the local pump cleared the flooded basement. Their different movements pulled one carrier leg away from the storage foundation.
Rack Eleven reopened.
The products still protected buildings. Their separate changes bought forty-one seconds instead of producing one stable answer.
Ash Quarter residents crossed in groups chosen by the people at the collar. Jessa’s dependent child went fifth. Two injured workers went before Boro. The seventeen tunnel residents carried their own food sacks and left the Stone Table ballot screens behind.
At the right collar, Kiri received the first tram-roof piece. It struck her plate hard enough to break a row keeper’s left forearm. The keeper, Meli Rusk, retained the cooking-roof line until a neighbor took its physical handle. Meli released before medics moved her.
The second piece braced the treatment shelter. The third gave the fractured water feed a separate hanging support. The fourth remained on open ground with no occupied load.
Kiri’s plate stopped sinking.
The old Asha booth slot was gone. One oven hook was gone. In their place, four tram sections now carried four named loads under four releases. The support was uglier and stronger.
Nine Ash Quarter residents remained.
Mevi checked their names against a grease-stained maintenance card. She had held the depot’s right collar for nine years and had used it twice before the crossing: once to isolate a tram fire and once when floodwater reached the tunnel batteries.
Her card still carried the meal order from the fire shift because no one had issued her a clean replacement.
She put the card through Rack Eleven in Boro’s coat pocket.
"You keep losing these," she said.
"You keep writing lunch beside release tests."
"Both happen on my shift."
Boro asked her to cross before him. Mevi tapped the final roof bolt under her boot.
"Right collar closes after that bolt. You know the job."
The carrier bent the firebreak collar toward its closing joint. Boro sent the next five through Rack Eleven. He followed after the remaining three crossed. Mevi stayed at the right release with the final roof bolt under her boot.
"Roof is through," Kiri told her. "Release right and cross left."
Mevi lifted her foot. The right collar began closing away from Kiri’s plate.
The carrier drove the apartment floor into the firebreak.
Metal caught Mevi across the hips. Boro reached through the left collar and caught her wrist. The route pulled toward storage while the right collar pulled toward the carrier.
Mevi looked at his hand.
"Release left or it takes Rack Eleven."
Boro did not move.
At storage, the rack cut split one concrete column. Forty-nine Basalt residents and twenty-seven Ash Quarter arrivals stood inside the collapse zone.
Mevi struck Boro’s release wrist with the heel of her hand.
His fingers opened.
The left collar shut. Mevi disappeared with the firebreak metal. Her body struck the red soil below the carrier and remained visible through Kiri’s closing line. There was no current response, pulse, or movement. Kiri’s medics could not reach her before the right collar sealed.
Farah kept the death statement to what the cameras held.
Mevi Durr died after releasing Ash Quarter’s route. Her body remained unrecovered under the carrier.
Twenty-seven Ash Quarter residents were alive on storage concrete. Kiri’s forty-three remained alive under four new tram supports. Neither group had held the other’s diversion.
The Woman withdrew both temporary work panels when their twelve seconds expired. Her five corridor keepers retained their releases. Her offer had worked as described and had not been used to assign a sacrifice.
The carrier’s district plate pulled free of Mira’s Ward. Tower Six lost its basement wall and all three heating pipes. Tower Nine kept sixty-one residents and a flooded laundry. Orin’s lift stayed above thirty-three residents. South Bank’s sedated patient and two treatment workers remained inside the carried clinic. Three apartment residents remained on the floor around the closed joint.
The twenty-four storage rack cuts stopped widening.
Every local screen sent a different refusal. Some named people. Some named equipment. Four stayed blank under current keepers who had no useful statement left.
The red soil opened anyway.
A body climbed through without a plate, room, readiness check, or visible release. It had six arms, no head, and a long empty socket down its left side.
It crossed every refusal without slowing.
