My Kingdom Building Done Right!
Chapter 351: Tianna’s Womanly Intuition
"Leone, Natalia requested a private audience with you." Aria went to find Leone an hour after he had finished installing the Forgotten Temple in the City of Soleil. "She said it’s very important."
"Natalia wants to talk to me?" Leone rubbed his chin. "Very well, then. Lead her to my house."
The City of Soleil was a secret that only a few could enter. Leone usually didn’t stay there, preferring to live in the upper layers.
With that, the majority who lived in the city were the miners who were busy digging a tunnel through the mountain.
It was also the home of the Aslan Tribe’s blacksmiths, who had learned the Art of Crafting through a skill book shared within the Aslan Tribe.
A few Orcs, who wished to learn the craft, were also permitted to gain access to this skill book.
Daedalus had shared the recipes to craft the Rare Weapons and Armors Leone had bought from the Arcane Shop.
As for the method to craft Sand Steel weapons, they had also mastered it.
Leone thought about it early on. They couldn’t rely on Daedalus to craft things for them forever, so he didn’t hesitate to invest in the necessary skill books and blueprints that would allow his people to forge their own weapons and armors.
Nearly half an hour later, Tianna entered Leone’s house.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit, Natalia?" Leone asked after offering his guest a glass of water.
Tianna shed away her disguise. It didn’t matter what form she took, for Leone already knew about her identity. Since they were going to have a serious talk, she believed it best to appear as the Oracle of the Warclaw Tribe rather than Natalia, the daughter of a merchant from the White Falcon Merchant Guild.
From her actions, Leone sensed that the upcoming topic was a serious matter.
"Leone, I want you to make Vlad your vassal," Tianna said calmly.
"...You want me to make your brother my vassal?" Leone asked back. "Why?"
Truth be told, Leone had already considered making Vlad, who idolized him, his vassal.
Daedalus also confirmed that the teenager was qualified to become one.
Still, he didn’t make his move. If it could be helped, he didn’t want his relationship with the Warclaw Tribe to veer in the wrong direction.
If anything, his original plan was to let Jason and Tianna marry each other first. That way, he could open up the talks of Vlad serving as his vassal since his sister was already going to live in the Aslan Tribe.
"It’s because..." Tianna hesitated.
She wasn’t sure whether Leone would believe her even if she told him the truth. After all, her decision was based on nothing more than a strange feeling.
It was her "woman’s intuition" telling her that Vlad must become Leone’s vassal before he attended the Tribal Gathering.
Although she couldn’t explain the feeling...
For some reason, Tianna couldn’t shake the thought that this was something of utmost importance.
Something that should be prioritized before Leone headed to Eden for the Tribal Gathering.
"Did you receive a vision from the Earth Mother?" Leone asked after seeing her hesitation.
He knew that Tianna was the Goddess’ oracle. If the Goddess asked her to pass this message to Leone, he would definitely take this matter seriously.
"No." Tianna shook her head. "It’s just... a hunch. I think Vlad could keep you safe if he becomes your vassal."
Leone stared back at the beautiful lady in front of him in response. Even though Tianna didn’t receive a prophecy or vision from the Earth Mother, he believed that she wouldn’t do anything to harm him in any way.
Not to mention, she was asking for her own little brother to become Leone’s vassal.
As the jewel of the Warclaw Tribe, letting her own brother pledge loyalty to another chieftain was not a light matter.
"Let’s say that I agree to your proposal," Leone said after a few minutes had passed. "How do you think your father will react to this news?"
"...He’ll probably be shocked," Tianna admitted. "And when the shock disappears, anger will take its place."
"Tianna, you do realize that this might lead to war, right?" Leone asked her in a serious tone. "The last thing I want to happen is to make the Warclaw Tribe my enemy. Hagen is already giving me mixed signals. If the Grimhowl Tribe and the Warclaw Tribe decide to declare war upon us at the same time, it will be a bloodbath."
Tianna lowered her head. She understood that this was highly likely to happen.
Although her father, Godwin, had a good impression of Leone, that could easily change if his own son became the retainer of another chieftain.
And while Godwin knew that Vlad idolized Leone, there was a bottom line that must not be crossed no matter what.
"Tianna, are you telling me this because you’re worried about me going to Eden?" Leone inquired.
"Yes," Tianna replied in a heartbeat. "I really have a bad feeling about this upcoming Tribal Gathering. You should consider sending a representative for the Aslan Tribe instead of going there yourself."
Leone understood Tianna’s worry. Besides, she was not the first one to warn him. Even Troy, whom Leone had just faced as an enemy, told him that he should be careful.
"Don’t worry, Tianna," Leone said with a smile. "I assure you that I will be very safe in the Tribal Gathering. I may not look like it, but I am somewhat of a scaredy cat, you know? I will definitely ensure that nothing will happen to me during the Tribal Gathering."
Tianna smiled wryly after Leone called himself a scaredy-cat.
A chieftain who charged into the battlefield to save the chieftain of the Darkmane Tribe was definitely anything but a scaredy cat.
Seeing that she still looked worried, Leone decided to share his plans for his trip to Eden. After hearing what he planned to do, the young lady’s eyes widened in shock.
"Is that possible?" Tianna asked doubtfully.
"Only if Vlad helps," Leone replied. "He is the key to making this work."
"So you’re making him your vassal?"
"Not now."
"Not now... does that mean you plan to make him a vassal in the future?"
Leone knew that lying to Tianna was something that he would feel guilty about, so he decided to come clean.
"I plan to make Vlad my vassal once the right conditions are met," Leone explained. "But at the end of the day, I will need to get your father’s permission first. Also, be honest with me. There’s something that you’re not telling me about this tournament, right?"
"What do you mean?" Tianna frowned in response.
"I’m talking about the representative of the Warclaw Tribe," Leone replied. "If he won the tournament, what would be his wish?"
"He... wishes to marry me," Tianna answered.
"Does Jason know?" Leone asked in a teasing tone.
"No." Tianna shook her head.
Leone nodded. "I will tell him then. That way, he will become more motivated to win the tournament."
The young lady blushed at those words, which let her know of Leone’s sincere resolve about playing matchmaker between her and Jason.
Of course, this made her a little happy. If Leone was serious about winning this tournament, she could expect him to do his best to increase Jason’s chances of winning.
