My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 409: Blood, Honor, And Glory [Part 2]

As soon as Gundar declared the start of the battle, Kargan charged at Zorren with his weapon raised high.

No member of the Grimfang Tribe would take being called a loser lying down, especially when it came from the Grimhowl Tribe.

While the Grimhowl Tribe didn’t think much of the Grimfang Tribe, the latter had one-sidedly formed a rivalry against the high-ranking tribe they were once part of.

Zorren yawned and casually dodged the cleaving strike Kargan had unleashed with fury. He made it look so effortless, that it made his opponent grit his teeth in anger.

The representative of the Grimfang Tribe then unleashed a flurry of blows, hoping one of them would be able to land on his target.

But Zorren dodged them all easily while yawning.

"Boring, so boring," Zorren said. "How can a turtle like you hit me? If you have any trump cards, use them now while you still have the chance."

"Die!" Kargan roared as his speed increased ever so slightly, which took his opponent by surprise... or at least, that was what he thought.

Instead of dodging to the side like he normally did, Zorren actually took a step forward to meet Kargan’s blow, dodging the attack by a hair’s breadth.

Then, he did something that made the spectators gasp in shock.

He thrust his hand inside Kargan’s mouth, then pulled out his tongue until it snapped.

Blood spurted from Kargan’s mouth.

That was only the beginning of his ordeal.

Zorren grabbed hold of his opponent’s left arm, then tore it apart from his body using brute strength.

Kargan screamed, but only the gurgling sound of blood reached everyone’s ears.

"Stop it!" Oswald shouted. "Enough! He can no longer fight! I concede!"

Zorren paid no mind to the chieftain and grabbed hold of Kargan’s right arm before tearing it off his body as well.

This bloody spectacle made the warriors of the Grimhowl Tribe cheer, while those from the Grimfang Tribe began to shout in anger and indignation.

Some of them even wanted to jump into the arena and put a stop to the fight on their own.

However, a spell had been cast on the arena beforehand, forming a spiritual barrier that prevented anyone from interfering.

The chieftains of the high-ranking tribes looked at this scene calmly, while the faces of Duncan and Garen turned grim.

They had already expected the representatives of the high-ranking tribes to not show them any mercy, but this... this wasn’t something any honorable warrior would do.

A warrior could die, yes, but not in this manner.

This show of brutality was something that never happened in the past!

Zorren grabbed hold of Kargan’s hair and spun him around until the hair he grabbed was torn off its roots.

The bloody warrior then slammed into the barrier of the arena and fell on the ground with a loud thud, uncertain whether he was dead or alive.

"Zorren wins!" Gundar declared.

The thunderous cheer from the warriors of the Grimhowl Tribe shook the arena, to which Zorren raised his clenched fist in triumph, basking in the afterglow of his victory.

"Leone, please!" Oswald pleaded to the only person that he believed had the power to save Kargan’s life.

"Understood." Leone rode on Jason’s familiar, Fenn, who leapt into the arena and ran toward the fallen warrior in the distance.

Leone hurriedly used his healing ability to stop the bleeding of the young man, who suffered such brutality under Zorren’s hand.

A gentle golden light soon enveloped Kargan’s body as Leone poured his healing power into the young warrior.

The young warrior’s wounds were severe.

His tongue had been torn apart, while both of his arms had been ripped from his body. On top of that, he had suffered numerous internal injuries from being slammed against the barrier.

Had Leone arrived even a few seconds later, Kargan would have died.

But, looking at his current state, the spectators thought death would have been a more merciful ending to the young man.

Even if he survived, without his arms and his tongue, the warrior’s life was already over.

What awaited him was only despair. There was even a high chance that Kargan would commit suicide to put an end to his suffering.

Several minutes passed as Leone continued to use his healing ability to stabilize the young man.

When his treatment was done, he helped the young man drink a potion that would make him numb to pain before putting him to sleep.

"You shouldn’t have bothered," Zorren said as he walked up behind Leone. "He would have embraced death willingly after what happened to him."

Truth be told, Zorren was very tempted to snap Leone’s neck then and there.

How glorious would it be to end the life of a chieftain with his own hands?

However, he also understood that it wasn’t possible.

After all, killing Leone would disqualify him from the tournament, and all the glory that should belong to him after he became the champion would vanish without a trace.

Not only would he die because of it, but he would also not be able to have his way with the beautiful Oracle whom every young warrior wished to bed.

"You’re so lucky," Zorren muttered. "You get to live another day."

Those who were near them thought that Zorren was referring to Kargan. However, the one he was speaking to was none other than Leone.

Fenn was more sensitive than humans and felt the killing intent Zorren had directed towards Leone.

The white wolf growled at the arrogant bastard, ready to attack the moment he made a move against its Great Chieftain.

"Calm down, Fenn," Leone said after he finally finished his treatment.

Ulric then arrived shortly to help pick up the fallen warrior and take him out of the arena.

Leone told him to take Kargan to the fortress to ensure his safety. He then returned to the VIP area.

But before he could sit down, Oswald held his hand and thanked him repeatedly for saving Kargan’s life.

However, in the eyes of the high-ranking tribes, there was nothing to thank for. This was just the fate of those who dared to fight against them and failed to realize just how futile their attempt was.

"Next fighters, go to the arena," Gundar declared.

This time, the representatives of the Darkmane Tribe and the Sandreaver Tribe walked toward the arena.

Two high-ranking tribes were about to fight, but nearly everyone was cheering for the Sandreaver Tribe’s representative.

Why?

It was because of Troy’s second son, Byron.

The chubby young man didn’t look like a warrior.

If anything, he looked like someone who had been left in the kitchen for a week and had nothing to do but eat.

But, despite all that, the chubby young man was all smiles.

He didn’t seem to feel any tension, and he even greeted his opponent politely.

"Well, since they are both from high-ranking tribes, that chubby guy won’t have to die," one of the spectators commented.

"Indeed." Another agreed. "Look. He isn’t even carrying any weapons. What is he going to do? Will he use his fat belly to slap his opponent?"

At that, the men laughed out loud. Clearly, they already believed that the Sandreaver Tribe already had this match in the bag.

However, there was someone in the VIP seats that was looking at this scene calmly.

’A pig eating a tiger,’ Leone mused. ’Now this is a match that I would like to see.’

’Indeed.’ Daedalus chuckled. ’This will be an entertaining match.’

Byron looked up at the VIP area until he met his father’s gaze.

The chubby boy gave his father a wave, and Troy, who everyone knew to be an arrogant man, actually waved back, causing eyebrows to rise.

Gundar asked if the two fighters were ready, to which both nodded at the same time.

"Fight!" Gundar shouted.

The representative of the Sandreaver Tribe took a fighting stance. But just as he was about to make his move, he almost faltered because his opponent actually ran!

Not toward him, but instead toward the edge of the arena as if his life depended on it.

The spectators laughed out loud and cheered after seeing this amusing scene.

Byron’s fat belly jiggled as he ran, making his brothers, Cain and Travis, cover their eyes in embarrassment because of their brother’s cowardly action.
