My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 498 Wherever The Storm Blows

As soon as Leone returned to Aslan City, he went straight to Grimjaw Mountain to sort out his thoughts.

He was dead tired, so he wanted nothing more than sleep. Unfortunately, he still had urgent matters to deal with.

When his grandfather, Andreas, and the butler, Jeeves, heard that Leone and the united tribes had achieved overwhelming victory against the Aurelion Empire, they couldn’t help but feel proud.

Why?

Because Leone was still part of the Helion Family by blood.

They had been ready to congratulate him when they noticed the displeased look on the young man’s face. He looked so solemn, one would think the war hadn’t ended yet.

"Grandpa, I’m glad you’re here," Leone said. "Please accompany me to the Helion Duchy. I need to talk to my mother right away."

As they walked, the young man explained what happened during the war, including the fact that Samuel, the Guardian of the Kingdom of Britannia, had recognized him.

The Kingdom of Britannia was still dealing with the allied Barbarians of the west and the Beastkins, but Leone still had to relay this information to his mother as soon as possible.

"I understand." Andreas nodded.

Helen had already been warned to be extra careful, but this information needed more than just carefulness.

Leone even had the thought of asking his mother to flee the Kingdom of Britannia and head to the Borderlands.

She could also seek asylum in the Helion Family first and teleport to Grimjaw Mountain from there.

Knowing time was of the essence, the three teleported to the Helion Duchy right away through the Forgotten Temple.

But just as soon as they arrived, Lugh came running toward them with a grim expression on his face.

"Leone, this is bad," Lugh said. "Your father was taken away by the soldiers of the kingdom for the crime of treason. Helen reached out to me just a while ago to inform me that your father has been captured."

"W-What?" Leone staggered as the news of his father’s capture reached his ears.

He was still very exhausted from the battle and could barely stay conscious through sheer willpower.

But hearing that the man he loved and respected the most, his father, had hit him when he was already at his weakest.

Andreas hurriedly supported his grandson’s body, which felt as heavy as lead. Leone was still conscious, but it seemed that he had lost all the remaining strength in his body.

"What about Mother?" Leone tried to support his own body, but he could no longer muster any strength. "What about my family?"

"They are currently fleeing the viscounty as we speak," Lugh answered in a serious tone. "I have sent capable individuals to protect your family, so they should be safe. However, I have no news of your elder brother, Edward. According to my spy in the Kingdom of Britannia, he managed to escape before the army got hold of him."

Just like Leone, Lugh also treated his brothers, Edward and Alphonse, as his great-grandsons.

The first second he heard the news, he was very tempted to look for them. He would’ve done it if he weren’t sanctioned to house arrest for the recent incident that he had caused.

Moreover, he believed he should be the one to tell Leone about what happened to Marco and the rest of his family. If it weren’t for waiting for Andreas and Leone, he might’ve escaped from his sanction.

"I understand," Leone said hoarsely.

Using all the reserves that remained in his body, he forced himself to return to the Dragon’s Nest as fast as he could.

Andreas and Jeeves accompanied him, while Lugh remained in the duchy. That way, he could act right away if Helen were to ask for his help.

The moment Leone returned to the Forgotten Temple, he almost collapsed once more.

Fortunately, Andreas and Jeeves were there to support him at a moment’s notice.

Kael, who had been waiting, looked at his Great Chieftain with alarm. Leone’s face was now devoid of all color.

"What happened?!" Kael hurriedly moved to support Leone’s body.

"My... Father," Leone said through gritted teeth. "Those bastards from Britannia took him prisoner. Kael, gather everyone. We will march to the north!"

Kael nodded. "Understood. Please return to your quarters first. I’ll gather everyone and think of a plan. For now, please drink this. It will help calm your nerves, Great Chieftain."

The shaman helped Leone drink a potion, and the latter didn’t resist.

He trusted Kael, believing that his vassal wouldn’t betray him.

But just a few seconds after drinking the potion, Leone felt his eyes grow heavy.

"Kael... you..." Leone grabbed hold of the shaman’s robes, clenching his fists as hard as he could to grab hold of him.

"Sleep for now, Great Chieftain," Kael said softly. "I promise you. When you open your eyes, we will be on Britannian soil."

Leone tried to hold on to his consciousness, but he no longer had the strength to fight the effects of the potion.

Soon, his body grew slack, and Kael held him firmly in his arms.

"Ulric, you heard our Great Chieftain," Kael said. "Gather every able-bodied warrior you can find and prepare to march toward Stoneguard Fortress."

"Understood!" Ulric replied and left to gather the rest of Leone’s vassals, as well as the chieftains of the Borderlands.

The battle of Eden had just ended, and yet, they still couldn’t find time to lay down their weapons and close their eyes.

But since their Great Chieftain wished to save his father, the tribes would answer and heed his call!

Andreas and Jeeves looked at each other with anxious looks on their faces.

Soon, the horn from Grimjaw Mountain spread across Aslan City.

Troy, Malik, Godwin, Hagen, Duncan, Oswald, and Garen all looked towards the fortress of the Aslan Tribe.

This didn’t sound like a horn meant to celebrate their victorious return.

If anything, it sounded more like the horn of war, which made them all frown at the same time.

High above the mountain, Astravor, Boris, and Blitz all sensed that another storm was coming.

And wherever that storm would blow, they and the Aslan Tribe would follow.
