My Life with Narration

Chapter 905: Chapter 895: Long Time No See
August 5th, now less than a month away, there’s no denying that time is really tight.
However, the other family is quite understanding, they didn’t ask for much dowry, and were quite reasonable with the house situation. At least 100,000 as dowry isn’t much in Jiang City.
As for the three golds, that’s normal; you could say, both sets of parents are working hard for the fastest wedding, all pulling together. How could it not be fast?
"Can the price be reduced a bit more? If it’s suitable, we’ll pay today!" Su Qing said.
Hearing this, the broker gave a wry smile, "Sir, I understand you, but you should also know it’s not easy for us. As a broker, no one wants this house sold more than I do. That’s why, to close the deal, I always try to keep the price as low as possible. If it’s sold, I also get money, right?
This house is 7,950, which is the best I can do. If you don’t trust me, you can look elsewhere. If someone offers a lower price than mine, I’ll process the paperwork for free. How about it?"
His words had just fallen when a voiceover prompt popped into Su Qing’s mind:
[In the past week, four people have looked at this house, and the price has dropped from the initial 8,300 to the current 7,950. The owner won’t lower it anymore, and if the broker pushes for a lower price, the owner might list it with another broker.]
Hearing this, Su Qing took a deep breath and then nodded to Wang Xing, "You decide. If you’re okay with it, then buy it. If you think it’s overpriced or you don’t like the layout, we can look at others!"
Having known each other for many years, Wang Xing understood this meant the price was non-negotiable. Now it was up to him to decide.
The house was north-south facing with no exposed beams inside, which was relatively good. The only downside was the living room wasn’t very spacious, but that’s to be expected with a 105 square meters, small three-bedroom house, how spacious could it be?
"Forget it, I have too much going on recently, and don’t have much time to choose. Let’s go with this one, buy it and transfer it quickly, I still need to renovate!" Wang Xing said after a moment of silence, making a difficult decision.
"Then let’s prepare the contract, we’ll pay in full," Su Qing said to the broker, then turned to Wang Xing, "Ding Qiang brought you 100,000, see how much you have with what you and your family have, and I’ll cover the rest. Pay in full, get it transferred, and get busy with your stuff. Make sure you’re free on the fifteenth, Xiaogou and Xu Yuezhen are coming back, we’ll visit San together.
As for other matters, I won’t say much; I also have a pile of things going on. If you need anything, just come to me!" Su Qing said with a smile, patting Wang Xing on the shoulder.
When the broker heard this, he was overjoyed and hurried to prepare the contract after receiving Wang Xing’s nod.
"Alright, thanks Qingzi, if it weren’t for you, this wedding wouldn’t have gone so smoothly!"
"Stop it, let’s just get the house settled first, as for renovations, I won’t get involved, let’s go!"
Wang Xing nodded, knowing that saying thanks now was pointless. He needed to wait until Su Qing needed him to reciprocate this friendship.
The paperwork for Wang Xing’s house proceeded quickly. Hearing the house was sold in full, the owner rushed over from elsewhere, and with everyone’s support, Wang Xing bought the house in full, resulting in tens of thousands of debts.
Time flew by, and days went quickly by. Su Qing’s investments in two films released last month had already started paying off in the box office revenue.
That evening, Wen Jingqi treated them to a meal at the most famous Jiangjing Restaurant in Jiang City, while Shen Yi contacted staff back in the capital to begin segmenting the assets of Su Qing’s company.
They would legally avoid taxes through normal procedures, and secondly, demonstrate their charity work, which would benefit both sides. After all, the money is spent anyway, donating a portion could at least garner a good reputation.
Moreover, while Su Qing wasn’t flamboyant about his donations, he didn’t hide them either; he even promoted it on his video account once.
The first charity fund focused on local families in Jiang City facing financial difficulties but suffering from serious illnesses. Of course, this work wouldn’t be done by him but by someone Shen Yi arranged from the capital. In terms of channels, they sought out the Old Master Wen since the Wen Family was the city’s largest supporter of charity.
Having amassed a huge enterprise over the years, Old Master Wen was naturally a major taxpayer, possessing his own channels in this regard.
Su Qing started with a specialty fund of 10 million, managed by specialists and connected to the official side.
But what followed was the climax.
"Damn, Qingzi, I regret it. Had I known you would donate millions at a time, I should have asked you to buy me a villa!"
July 15th, Su Qing, Ding Qiang, and Wang Xing arrived at the high-speed rail station waiting for people.
The weather was the same as today last year, raining lightly, but the three weren’t dressed in the suits of last year’s battle armor, dressed much more casually now.
After all, last year was the third anniversary of San’s passing, still quite a special day.
At this point, Wang Xing held an umbrella, saying with regret.
This was because he’d seen online news of Su Qing’s 10 million donation, and that same day, several people had received help in Jiang City’s hospitals.
There were those with leukemia needing chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants, waiting for organ transplant surgery, and others who were young but recently diagnosed with cancer at an early stage.
The number wasn’t large, but at least some people had truly been helped.
"Come on, Qingzi’s donation can relieve part of the taxes. Strictly speaking, it’s still money; dream on!" Ding Qiang rolled his eyes at Wang Xing.
"Nonsense, of course I know that! I’m just saying, seeing that money, it makes my heart ache," Wang Xing said, patting his chest with a pained expression, as if it were his money being used.
"By the way, I heard from Miaomiao that Ning Tong joined the company? Qingzi, what are your thoughts?" Wang Xing asked, switching topics suddenly.
It turned out, after parting ways that night, Ning Tong somehow decided to go for an interview at Shen Yi’s company, and surprisingly, she passed.
Of course, you couldn’t blame HR, after all, they didn’t know the backstory.
"What can I think? I was baffled when I found out. Xiao Yi hasn’t smiled at me for two days now, so I’m avoiding the company, waiting to see what she plans. If nothing else, I’ll find a reason to dismiss her," Su Qing said, feeling a little frustrated about it.
"If you ask me, this matter shouldn’t be delayed. Qingzi, if you have a way, get her out soon. I don’t feel this woman has good intentions. It’s best for you to stay away from her!" Ding Qiang’s face darkened at the mention of Ning Tong.
In response, Su Qing nodded, "Don’t worry, I have a plan!"
While they were chatting, a large crowd emerged from the station, and soon they spotted two familiar figures.
"Xiaogou!"
"Dog!"
"Qingzi!"
"Old A, Big Qiang, I ... damn, I missed you guys so much!"
As they spoke, everyone went forward, someone grabbing luggage, others hugging.
"Long time no see!" Xu Yuezhen stood still, opening her arms with a smile. She wore a white dress, hair styled into a ponytail; her birthmark fully visible on her face.
Compared to last year, she was noticeably more confident this year.
"Long time no see, can’t believe you and Dog ended up on the same train!" Su Qing stepped forward, giving her a light hug.
"Just a coincidence. Oh, I saw online, congratulations on your engagement, wishing you a happy marriage and many children!"
After they parted, Xu Yuezhen smiled.
Su Qing just nodded in response, "Thanks."
Then Xu Yuezhen also hugged both Wang Xing and Ding Qiang briefly.
Though they only spent a day with Xu Yuezhen, it was interesting how she seamlessly fit into their little circle.
Perhaps "fit in" isn’t accurate; more like she replaced, she took the place of San, or rather, came to provide some comfort in his place.
