My Magic Has No Upper Limit

Chapter 148 - 147: Massive Experience

Chapter 148: Chapter 147: Massive Experience

A torrent of green blood spurted out!

The One-Eyed Giant cried out in pain, instinctively swinging its arm in a sweeping motion. But Rivaya, his strike having found its mark, had already retreated to a safe distance.

The One-Eyed Giant’s attack hit nothing but air.

Gray, watching from the side, thought for a moment but decided against joining the fray.

He didn’t have Rivaya’s speed or reflexes.

If he got hit even once, the team’s entire offensive rhythm would be thrown into chaos.

"Cough... Ugh..."

Having been sent flying, Marcus couldn’t stop himself from spitting out a mouthful of blood. He wiped the stain from the corner of his mouth and struggled to his feet.

In his entire adventuring career, this was the first time he had faced an attack of such ferocity from a Demon.

Thank goodness for the Constitution boost. If he had relied purely on his own strength, he would have been smashed into a meat paste.

’As I thought... When facing a Demon of this Level, my own abilities are still not enough...’

A sense of powerlessness washed over Marcus.

A soft green light enveloped Marcus.

Manlin, who had a clear grasp of the battle, waved her Magic Wand and began Casting, providing him with a heal.

Healing Skill!

Warm Life Energy surged into his body. Marcus could feel his injuries mending at a rapid pace.

The pain swiftly faded, his condition improved in a flash, and his body was once again filled with Power!

Seeing the rest of his team struggling to hold the One-Eyed Giant’s attention, Marcus didn’t hesitate for a second.

He raised his Shield once more and let out a taunting Battle Cry!

"Come at me!"

He had to draw the One-Eyed Giant’s attention and lock it onto himself, creating an opportunity for his teammates!

Marcus’s roar assaulted the One-Eyed Giant’s mind, forcing it to redirect its attention to the human.

Pulled in different directions by one person after another, the One-Eyed Giant’s fury ignited, and it became utterly enraged.

’These humans, damn them all!’

It abandoned the thought of hunting down the others and focused all its murderous intent on Marcus.

’I’ll kill this human first! Then no one will be left to stand in my way!’

The One-Eyed Giant opened its eye again, and a blinding purple light began to coalesce!

At this range, there was simply nowhere to dodge!

Marcus understood this as well. He unreservedly gathered all the Fighting Qi in his body, forming a tangible Combat Qi Shield!

"BOOM...! FZZZZZZZT!"

The purple ray and the white bulwark slammed into each other!

The two energies annihilated each other on contact, but Marcus was clearly at a disadvantage. His Fighting Energy Barrier was rapidly melting away under the beam.

Marcus felt like he was trying to face down an erupting volcano; every bone in his body groaned under the overwhelming Power.

In just two short seconds, the Fighting Energy Barrier shattered!

But Marcus had used those two seconds to just barely twist his body aside.

The beam grazed past his body and blasted the area behind him.

"Now!"

Of course, Zelir and Valles weren’t about to let this golden opportunity slip by.

Just as the One-Eyed Giant opened its eyelid to attack, an Arcane Missile and a Thunder Arrow slammed into it, detonating squarely on the surface of its eyeball!

"AWOOO!!!"

The One-Eyed Giant let out an agonized shriek.

Its eye, already injured once, now took another grievous blow. It was nearly blasted into a mangled pulp, and the purple light within it dimmed considerably.

But the One-Eyed Giant forced itself to endure the pain, raised its fist, and brought it crashing down on Marcus once more!

"CRACK!!!"

A sickening crunch echoed!

The Composite Shield was shattered by the immense force, sending splinters of wood and fragments of metal flying in all directions.

Marcus clearly heard the sharp crack of his own forearm bone as his body was sent flying.

He coughed up a mouthful of viscous blood.

Instructor Manlin’s green light covered him again in the nick of time, instantly staunching his wounds and calming the roiling blood in his veins.

Still, he wouldn’t be rejoining the battle anytime soon.

After taking two heavy injuries in a row, he would need to rest for a while, even with an Upper Level Empowerment Mage watching over him.

The One-Eyed Giant was finally free of Marcus’s control. It immediately began a frenzied charge toward Zelir!

"Over here...!"

Rivaya moved to fill the gap left by Marcus, intending to harass the One-Eyed Giant with a surprise attack to divert its attention, just as he had before.

But the One-Eyed Giant was prepared this time. It twisted violently and swung its arm in a vicious smash!

It was too fast!

Rivaya had no time to dodge; he could only watch helplessly as he met the One-Eyed Giant’s attack head-on!

"BAM!!!"

Rivaya was swatted away like a fly. His eyes nearly bulged from their sockets, and it felt as though all his internal organs had been violently rearranged.

Where the One-Eyed Giant’s blow had landed squarely on his chest, a good number of his ribs must have been broken.

Manlin’s green light enveloped him once more, immediately alleviating his injuries.

Lena’s heart leaped into her throat.

Now, there was no one left to stop the One-Eyed Giant. It had reached Zelir!

"ROAR...!"

’A Human Mage who just hides behind Warriors and casts spells? I can kill him with a single slap!’

The One-Eyed Giant roared internally as it brought its fist smashing down!

However, the expected scene—the Human Mage panicking before being smashed to a pulp—did not occur.

Zelir crouched slightly, displaying astonishing agility.

He sidestepped.

As he dodged the One-Eyed Giant’s fist, the Longsword at his hip was unsheathed in the same fluid motion.

A clear light flashed, and the ring of steel echoed across the battlefield!

’Wha...t?’

The One-Eyed Giant had no time to react before a searing pain shot through the wrist of its swinging right arm!

A horizontal slash!

A cold light flashed. The Fine Steel Longsword sliced into flesh, cut through muscle, and emerged on the other side!

A great splash of green blood arced through the air, following the perfect trajectory of the cut!

The blow nearly severed the tendons in the One-Eyed Giant’s wrist!

With the blessing of his Strength and Agility Body, amplified by his Magic Contract, Zelir’s current physical prowess had completely surpassed that of a Junior Warrior. He was approaching the level of a Middle Level Class Warrior!

’You think I’m some frail Mage who can’t even withstand a gust of wind? You couldn’t be more wrong!’

After slicing its wrist, Zelir’s assault continued without pause.

His Longsword swung again!

This time, he targeted the knee of the One-Eyed Giant’s right leg.

Given the One-Eyed Giant’s height, Zelir didn’t even need to crouch to reach his target.

A shattering strike!

An agonizing pain of shattering bone shot from the One-Eyed Giant’s right knee.

Zelir’s current melee damage was in no way inferior to the Magic he unleashed!

With most of its right kneecap shattered, the One-Eyed Giant stumbled, dropping to one knee with a roar of defiance.

But it simultaneously launched a ferocious counterattack, its barrel-sized left fist smashing straight toward Zelir!

’I’ll grind you to dust...!’

"THUD...!"

A muffled thud.

No effect!

Zelir hadn’t dodged at all. The hazy light of Fog Flowing Gauze shimmered around him.

The One-Eyed Giant’s terrifying Power was completely ineffective against him.

The force of the punch was deflected and dispersed, sliding harmlessly to the side. Zelir seized the opportunity, stepping onto the One-Eyed Giant’s left fist and using it as a springboard to leap straight toward its eye!

In mid-air, Zelir changed his grip on the sword.

He gripped the unsharpened part of the blade just above the hilt with his left hand, both hands now in a reverse grip as if holding a paddle.

This grip allowed Zelir to put his full force behind the blow in the most effective way.

A piercing thrust!

Carrying the full weight of his body, the sharp blade plunged through the thick eyelid and deep into the ocular tissue within.

"This versatile fighting style, effective at any range, is truly a sight to behold..."

Lena remarked with sincere admiration as she watched Zelir ferociously hack away at the One-Eyed Giant in close combat.

She figured the One-Eyed Giant had never seen this coming.

After being bombarded by an Arcane Missile and a Thunder Arrow, and then being viciously stabbed by Zelir, the Giant’s single eye finally reached its breaking point.

The chaotic Magic Power roiling within it erupted in a violent outward explosion!

"BOOM!"

It blew away half of the One-Eyed Giant’s head, spraying a viscous mixture of ocular fluid and blood everywhere.

It was a point-blank explosion. Zelir had no time to get away.

In an instant, the torrent of purple Magic Power engulfed him.

Fog Flowing Gauze offered no protection against a pure energy attack like this; the hazy mist melted away like snow in the sun the moment it touched the purple Magic Power.

"BANG!"

Zelir was blown back, landing hard on the ground.

An unbearable, searing pain instantly shot through his entire body.

Zelir felt as if he’d been thrown into a vat of boiling oil as the purple Magic Power ceaselessly burned his body.

But Instructor Manlin’s soft green light immediately enveloped him, greatly soothing his wounds.

Clutching his chest, he managed to sit up.

"AARRRGGGHHH!!!"

A pain-filled roar echoed throughout the valley!

Having lost its eye, the Giant was now completely berserk.

It thrashed about aimlessly like a headless chicken, its fists hammering deep craters into the ground.

The One-Eyed Giant’s greatest weapon was finally destroyed. Wracked with excruciating pain, it had fallen into a frenzy and was completely unable to lock onto a target.

Seizing the opportunity, Gray finally entered the fray from the rear, targeting the back of the One-Eyed Giant’s left knee.

He brought his sword down. While the blow wasn’t powerful enough to completely destroy the knee like Zelir’s had, it still successfully hampered the One-Eyed Giant’s mobility.

The One-Eyed Giant cried out in pain and swung its fist in a reflexive counterattack.

But Gray managed to avoid it with a last-second roll.

Valles fired one Thunder Arrow after another, bombarding the Giant’s half-destroyed head and sending shattered bone and brain matter flying everywhere. The scene was pure chaos.

Under the soothing effects of Instructor Manlin’s healing, Zelir finally recovered his strength.

The One-Eyed Giant was on its last legs.

Magic Power circulated as he began to gather energy.

A shimmering, sky-blue Water Blade appeared and slashed horizontally across the One-Eyed Giant’s neck!

The Water Blade demonstrated its formidable cutting power as it made contact with the Giant’s tough skin and muscle.

Flesh was torn asunder, and even its hard cervical vertebrae were like rotted wood before the blade, severed without the slightest resistance!

Before everyone’s shocked eyes, the One-Eyed Giant’s ruined head was finally lopped off and sent flying!

The killing blow was delivered by Zelir.

One-Eyed Giant, successfully defeated!

It felt like an explosion went off in Zelir’s mind. On his status panel, the experience bar was shooting up at a frantic pace!

Level 14 (298/425) -> Level 16 (233/475). He had leveled up twice in a row!
