In the instant the mist was dispelled, the squad got a clear look at the Fog Demon’s true form.

Unlike the juvenile ones, this Fog Demon was undoubtedly a true adult!

Stronger, more terrifying, and more cunning!

The Fog Demon stood nearly four meters tall, its limbs and torso incredibly thick and powerful.

It could integrate the bodies of its victims to strengthen itself, one by one. And so, the squad witnessed a horrifying sight.

Gnarled vines twisted and pierced through its dark, reddish-black flesh, emerging from both within and without.

Goblins, Minotaurs, Withered Wood Guards—traces of these Demons were visible all over the Fog Demon’s body, like some grotesque stew.

But the most nauseating sight of all was another type of body embedded within it... human!

Four or five twisted, deformed human corpses in tattered Armor were fused into the Fog Demon’s body!

They were like flies trapped in amber, fused to the Fog Demon’s chest, shoulders, and arms.

One corpse was just a torso, its arm jutting out from the Fog Demon’s shoulder and swaying slightly with the monster’s movements.

And a human head was embedded right in the center of the Fog Demon’s chest.

Most of the flesh on the face had been ripped away, leaving empty eye sockets and a gaping mouth, perfectly preserving the man’s expression from the moment of his horrific death.

’It looks like some unlucky Adventurers have already run into this thing...’

The moment they spotted the Fog Demon, Marcus didn’t hesitate.

’The window of opportunity is fleeting. We can’t let it hide itself again!’

Marcus barked.

"Attack!"

The Fog Demon had been about to use the thick fog as cover for a sneak attack on a member of the squad. But before it could even pick a target, the mist was abruptly lit up by Fractal Fire.

Its sudden exposure clearly stunned it for a moment.

An Arrow shot out like a viper striking from its den!

The first attack to slam into the Fog Demon after Zelir dispelled the mist was Valles’s Thunder Arrow.

A direct hit!

A blast of lightning erupted!

As expected, the Arrow’s powerful kinetic energy was completely neutralized. The Energy Barrier rippled, deflecting and dissipating the force.

The physical attack was completely ineffective.

But the Thunder Fighting Qi infused into it was another story!

Blue light erupted. A fine web of lightning crackled across the Fog Demon’s surface, spreading over its entire body in an instant with a sizzle of CRACKLING static.

The Fighting Qi reacted violently with the Energy Barrier. The distorted Force Field surrounding the Fog Demon’s body faded significantly.

But it was still there, not completely destroyed.

Clearly, the adult Fog Demon’s Energy Barrier was several times stronger than that of a juvenile one!

Zelir had previously been able to shatter the Energy Barrier with just two Fireball Skills.

The Fog Demon let out an enraged roar and charged forward, raising a giant fist studded with several Bone Spikes!

Marcus leaped in front of it to block!

The force of the blow sent Marcus stumbling back several steps, the corner of his eye twitching.

The Fog Demon’s heavy blow wasn’t just a simple physical attack; it was mixed with a strange Magic Power that felt like swirling mist!

’That strange, cold, and damp Magic Power had somehow passed right through the Shield and struck him directly.’

A cyan figure flashed past behind Marcus!

Gray dropped low, almost skimming the ground as he burst forward!

Wind Fighting Qi coiled around his blade, compressing tightly to further enhance its power.

Slash!

A cyan arc of light flashed. An upward slash struck viciously at the Fog Demon’s right wrist, which was as thick as a man’s thigh!

The Wind Fighting Qi erupted forth!

The Energy Barrier, already weakened by the Thunder Arrow, finally dissipated completely.

However, because the Energy Barrier had absorbed some of the slash’s power...

...Gray’s upward slash only cut halfway into the wrist before his blade got stuck fast in the dense muscle and bone!

Gray used the opening to leap away from the Fog Demon’s front. He began circling toward its flank and rear, searching for his next chance to strike.

Marcus took two steps back, using the momentum to dissipate the force.

After taking two heavy blows in a row, his arm was already starting to go numb.

’A few more hits like that, and forget the Shield breaking—I’d be shaken apart from the inside.’
