Chapter 133: Chapter 110: Level 3 Mixed Element Skill, Strength Surges, Battling the Blood Saber Sect
He only needed to elevate the Mixed Element Skill by two more levels to completely fuse the five streams of power into one. When that time came, he could use his power freely without any risk of internal conflict.
"I received twenty Qi Blood Pills from He Yuan," he thought. "Added to the eighteen I already had, that makes thirty-eight. I’ve used ten so far, leaving twenty-eight. I can continue downing pills to level up the Mixed Element Skill. Since that’s the case, I’ll do it!"
Originally, the remaining Qi Blood Pills would have been enough to upgrade the Iron Cloth Shirt by a level, but with only twenty-eight left, it was no longer sufficient. He decided to use them all to elevate the Mixed Element Skill instead.
"Top up and activate Easy Mode!" Su Chen chanted in his mind.
The system panel’s friendly voice chimed in: [Easy Mode activated. Breathe four hundred times to train the Mixed Element Skill to the third level.]
Forty-five minutes later, the third stream of Mixed Yuan Power emerged. Su Chen forcefully guided it, merging the smaller stream into the larger one.
From then on, only two streams of power remained within his body. However, the might of that larger stream was in no way inferior to the combined strength of the previous five scattered streams; it even faintly surpassed them.
As for the final stream of power, it belonged to the Spirit Head Skill. He would probably have to find another opportunity to fuse it next time!
For the rest of the day, Su Chen stayed in his room. While waiting for the appointed hour, he tested the might of the newly fused power and adapted to it.
After a period of testing, Su Chen discovered that, unlike the five separate streams from before, this fused power could thoroughly temper his five internal organs without causing them any discomfort.
Clearly, the fusion effect of the Mixed Element Skill was flawless. The four streams of power had truly become one.
As a result, Su Chen could freely channel the fused power to temper his internal organs. This process was far more efficient than before!
Previously, due to the conflict between his different powers, his organ-tempering speed had lagged behind Martial Artists who single-mindedly practiced only one Cultivation Technique. Now, however, with the same quantity of power, his quality and density far exceeded those of Martial Artists at the same rank. Others would exhaust their power after tempering their organs just once. He, on the other hand, could temper his organs three or four times before his power ran dry, effectively increasing his efficiency by three or four times!
However, it wasn’t all advantageous; there was still one minor flaw. Because the power had become so heavy and dense, its circulation speed had slowed down slightly. Fortunately, with the augmentation of the Profound Yuan Technique, the two effects canceled each other out. The circulation speed of the fused power became almost identical to what it had been before he practiced the Profound Yuan Technique, returning to a normal rate.
Test, adapt, rest. Test, adapt, rest. This cycle continued until the sun began to set in the west. It was only then that He Chong sent someone to invite Su Chen to dinner.
After dinner, He Yuan dismissed the only elderly servant in the house. The three of them sat in the main hall, waiting for night to fall.
Night fell.
He Yuan stood up slowly. His gaze landed on Su Chen and He Chong as he said calmly, "We can head out now."
He Chong nodded and grabbed his bundle, following closely behind his father. Both traveled light, not daring to carry too much luggage.
The three men walked out the main gate to find a carriage already waiting for them. Su Chen and He Chong climbed inside, while He Yuan took the reins, slowly driving the carriage toward the city gates.
Su Chen kept his eyes closed. He had already sensed the hidden gazes observing them from the shadows, but he paid them no mind, his expression remaining perfectly normal. He Chong’s face was etched with worry, but seeing Su Chen’s calm and composed posture helped him relax quite a bit.
A quarter of an hour later, the carriage rolled out of the city gates.
"Hiyah!" He Yuan shouted softly, accelerating in an attempt to shake off their pursuers.
"Watch out!" Suddenly, Su Chen’s eyes snapped open. Having heard the terrifying whistle of something tearing through the air, he yelled at He Chong. Before He Chong could even react, Su Chen delivered a sharp kick to knock him down and pinned his body to the floorboards.
CRASH! A sharp arrow struck like a bolt of lightning, piercing through the carriage window in an instant. In the nick of time, Su Chen suddenly reached out and snatched it from the air.
HUMMM! The sharp arrow vibrated violently, seemingly trying to break free from Su Chen’s grip. With a slight exertion of force, Su Chen snapped it in half.
"Whoa!" At the same time, He Yuan, who was driving the carriage, screamed, "Get out of the carriage!"
Hearing this, Su Chen immediately sensed that something was wrong. He grabbed He Chong, pushed off with his legs, and smashed through the carriage window, leaping out.
"Father!" Landing steadily on his feet, He Chong cried out when he saw He Yuan take a heavy fall. He immediately rushed over to his father.
"Again?" Su Chen’s eyes flashed as he spotted another hidden arrow fired from not too far away. He casually snapped a branch off a roadside tree, gathered his body’s strength, and hurled it.
CRACK! In the fleeting moment that the arrow and the branch collided, the arrow suddenly shattered inch by inch. The fragments rained down onto the ground, landing right in front of He Yuan and his son. The two men stared at the scene, their hearts pounding with lingering fear. If Su Chen hadn’t intervened just now, He Yuan would undoubtedly be dead.
"Hiding in the shadows like a coward—what kind of skill is that? Get out here!" Su Chen shouted coldly, his gaze as sharp as lightning. Using his body as a bow, his arm as the bowstring, and another tree branch as an arrow, he launched the makeshift projectile through the air. It shot forward like a beam of light, erupting with astonishing speed.
THUD! Even from a distance of over a hundred meters, it stirred up a powerful gust of wind. The branch struck a tree, causing the trunk to shake violently as leaves detached and drifted down in a chaotic shower.
"Impressive!" The person hiding in the dark gasped in admiration before revealing himself. The man was dressed in a crimson robe and looked at Su Chen with surprise. "No wonder the people of the Mixed Element Sect dared to flee. So you invited such an expert."
The crimson-robed man approached slowly, holding a bow and arrow. A large broadsword was strapped to his waist, proudly displaying his other identity.
