Chapter 151: Chapter 113: The Fused Iron Cloth Shirt, An Eye-Opener

"Benefactor," Zhu Yan gave an awkward smile.

"Benefactor!" Cai Xiaoyue appeared much more poised and natural.

"Are you reading a medical book?" Zhu Yan walked in. Seeing the medical book on the stone table, his eyes lit up slightly as he asked with a smile.

"Mhm." Su Chen nodded, gesturing for the two to sit down. "Have a seat."

The two sat down. Zhu Yan made casual small talk with Su Chen, while Cai Xiaoyue showed no urgency, quietly listening from the side. Su Chen noticed the underlying tension, so he asked, "Speak. What did you come to see me for?"

Suddenly having his rhythm disrupted, Zhu Yan panicked for a moment before smiling bitterly. "It’s like this, Benefactor. I want to ask you for a favor."

"What kind of favor?"

"I’d like to borrow the Medical Secret Manual from you."

"Huh?"

"Benefactor, please don’t misunderstand. I only want to borrow it for a while. I will return it to you afterward."

Su Chen had wondered what Zhu Yan could possibly want. Seeing his flustered expression, he smiled and said, "This was yours to begin with, so there’s no need to talk about borrowing. Wait a moment, I’ll go get it for you."

Saying that, Su Chen stood up, retrieved the Medical Secret Manual from his room, and placed it in front of Zhu Yan.

Looking at the perfectly preserved Medical Secret Manual, Zhu Yan’s expression shifted slightly. He said with some excitement, "Thank you, Benefactor."

"It’s nothing. If you don’t mind me asking, what do you need it for?" Su Chen asked, somewhat curious.

Zhu Yan opened his mouth to speak, but remembering Cai Lihe’s instructions, he found himself caught in a dilemma.

Su Chen noticed Zhu Yan’s embarrassment and chuckled softly. "It’s fine, I was just asking."

At this time, Cai Xiaoyue spoke up from the side, "Please don’t take offense, Benefactor. There’s no harm in telling you. Brother Zhu is borrowing this book because he intends to treat an important figure in the gang."

Hearing this, a look of realization dawned on Su Chen’s face, and he thought no more of it.

Afterward, Zhu Yan wanted to compensate Su Chen, but Su Chen refused, telling him that preparing more medical books for him would be enough.

Zhu Yan patted his chest and declared that once Su Chen finished reading the current medical books, he could come to the Cai Mansion to find him anytime. He might lack other things, but he definitely had enough medical books.

After the two left, Su Chen returned to the courtyard and continued studying his medical book.

Three days later, after Su Chen consumed a Qi Blood Pill, the progress of the Mixed Element Skill maxed out, and the Easy Mode activated.

[Easy Mode Activated: Breathe five hundred times to train the Mixed Element Skill to the fourth level.]

Su Chen didn’t even need to breathe deliberately. The task was completed automatically in about twenty minutes, naturally generating a surge of Mixed Yuan Power within his body.

Overjoyed, Su Chen controlled this Mixed Yuan Power, using it to build a bridge between the Spirit Head Skill power and the Iron Cloth Shirt power. The two forces, one large and one small, logically underwent an unconventional fusion, merging into an even more vigorous power.

From then on, the five distinct streams of power originating from the Iron Cloth Shirt completely consolidated into a single force.

There were no obvious external changes. Aside from the strengthening of his power, the refinement of his lungs had become faster.

The impurities in his lungs were rapidly being expelled from his body. Although he hadn’t yet reached a flawless state, if he kept this up, he would achieve it sooner or later.

For now, he was only expelling the residual impurities in his lungs. Once his power advanced further, not only would the impurities in his lungs be completely eliminated, but no new impurities would be generated when he breathed. Only then would his internal organs be truly flawless, tough as iron, and impervious to ordinary physical forces.

During the following days, Su Chen basically stayed at home reading and rarely went out. He read continuously for three days, stopping only when he had nearly finished all the medical books he had brought back.

After this systematic study, Su Chen finally felt he had stepped through the door of becoming a Physician, gaining a much more thorough understanding of medicinal herbs and medical texts.

However, with the consumption over these past few days, Su Chen had exhausted all his Qi Blood Pills. He originally had forty-one Qi Blood Pills; he used thirty to elevate the Mixed Element Skill, and the remaining eleven only lasted him about three days.

He thought, "I should return these medical books to Zhu Yan first and borrow some others while I’m at it. Then, I’ll figure out a way to find more Qi Blood Pills!"

In the inner courtyard of the Cai Mansion.

Cai Xiaoyue walked into the room carrying a bowl of tremella and lotus seed soup. "Brother Zhu, I made you a bowl of lotus seed soup," she said softly. "Drink it while it’s hot."

"Mhm," Zhu Yan replied absentmindedly, continuing to flip through a medical book without raising his head.

Looking at the table full of medical books in front of Zhu Yan, a pained look of heartache crossed Cai Xiaoyue’s face. She sighed softly but didn’t say anything.

A maid walked toward them. Seeing her, Cai Xiaoyue quickly stepped outside and gestured for her to be quiet.

"Miss, a friend of Young Master Zhu has come to visit. It’s Young Master Su," the maid said in a lowered voice.

"Wait here," Cai Xiaoyue said to the maid after glancing back at Zhu Yan.

"Yes!"

Arriving at the front courtyard, Cai Xiaoyue saw Su Chen and bowed. "Benefactor."

"Why did you come alone? Where’s Zhu Yan?" Su Chen asked in confusion upon seeing her.

Hearing this, Cai Xiaoyue couldn’t help but smile bitterly. "Brother Zhu is currently studying his medical books. He doesn’t know that you’ve arrived, Benefactor."

"Is that so? Just tell him later. I came to grab a few medical books, and then I’ll leave," Su Chen said nonchalantly.

"No problem. Please follow me, Benefactor."

Cai Xiaoyue smiled and led Su Chen toward Zhu Yan’s small clinic.

Unexpectedly, just as the two stepped into the clinic, they saw Zhu Yan running over in a hurry, nearly colliding with them.

"Benefactor, when did you arrive?" Zhu Yan asked in surprise when he saw Su Chen.

Su Chen smiled. Looking at the slightly flustered Zhu Yan, he replied, "Not too long ago."

"Yue, why didn’t you tell me the benefactor was here?" Zhu Yan gave a bitter smile, immediately guessing the reason as he spoke.
