My Mosquito Clones Are on a Killing Spree
Chapter 146 - 90: Corpse Fire
Chapter 146: Chapter 90: Corpse Fire
However.
Pressure-plate traps that triggered sinking sand, or tripwires that activated poisoned crossbow bolts—all of them were now useless displays!
The Mosquito Avatar floated lightly in the center of the passageway, a good half-foot off the ground, completely unable to touch any triggers on the floor or walls!
It was like an intangible Ghost, silently passing through the death-trap-filled ancient tomb passage.
The journey was startling but posed no real danger!
’Hiss! How can there be so many living things inside this tomb!’
Lin Yi couldn’t help but gasp inwardly.
On the crystal-clear Tracking map, more than twenty dots of light, varying in size and energy intensity, were clearly marked!
They were like fireflies in the night, scattered throughout the different corners of the deathly silent tomb!
One of these dots of light was exceptionally massive!
Its size far surpassed the others, occupying almost a corner of the map, and its color was a piercing, golden-red!
Not far from it was another dot of light, slightly smaller but by no means insignificant. Its color was a deep, pitch-black, like a black hole that could devour light, and it emitted a powerful aura.
The remaining dozen or so dots of light were all smaller and black.
’Holy shit! Don’t tell me the principal’s jinx actually came true? After being nourished by Spiritual Qi for three hundred years, have all the fucking corpses in this tomb reanimated and turned into zombies?!’
Lin Yi was shaken to his core. He couldn’t help but slow the Mosquito Avatar down even more, proceeding with greater caution through the dark tomb passage.
「Soon.」
The Mosquito Avatar flew to the entrance of a massive side chamber.
When it flew inside, the sight that greeted it made Lin Yi’s scalp tingle!
Packed together! Piled up like mountains!
This side chamber was extremely spacious.
But inside, neatly arranged in layers, were hundreds of pitch-black, decaying coffins!
Most of these coffins were faded and cracked, revealing the dark Wood within. Some were even covered in thick layers of dust and cobwebs.
They stood in silent rows, occupying the entire side chamber and forming a suffocating forest of coffins!
The rotten, cold aura in the air was at its most intense here!
’Is... is this the burial place for the disciples and followers of Wangwu Mountain’s master?’
Lin Yi thought to himself.
This was clearly a massive sacrificial burial pit.
Or perhaps, it was where the disciples of Wangwu Mountain’s master were centrally buried after their deaths.
A sorrowful yet eerie atmosphere enveloped the entire space.
Through the Mosquito Avatar’s Tracking ability, Lin Yi could see clearly.
Among the hundreds of silent coffins, the interiors of more than twenty of them were clearly flashing with black dots of energy on the Tracking map!
’As expected! They really fucking reanimated!’
Lin Yi’s heart couldn’t help but race.
The things inside these coffins weren’t dried bones, but zombies that had already undergone corpse transformation!
’This Wangwu Mountain lineage... is really something else!’
Amidst his shock, Lin Yi also felt a sense of disbelief.
For a corpse to defy fate, to turn from death to life and become a zombie—how difficult was that?
The right time, the right place, Spiritual Qi, and fortunate opportunities—not one could be missing!
Out of ten thousand corpses, having even one successfully transform was considered striking it rich with luck!
But look at the tomb of Wangwu Mountain’s master!
Out of a hundred coffins, more than twenty had already transformed!
This ratio was terrifyingly high!
This was definitely not a coincidence!
The legacy of this Wangwu Mountain lineage, or perhaps the feng shui of the tomb itself, must hold some astonishing secret that promotes corpse transformation!
Lin Yi held his breath, focusing intently. He controlled the Mosquito Avatar to retract its faint Demon Qi to the absolute minimum and reduced its flying speed to its lowest, silently gliding over this horrifying "zombie dormitory" like a true speck of dust.
Fortunately, the zombies sleeping in their coffins didn’t seem to have been awakened by the imperceptible disturbance.
Leaving the terrifying side chamber, the Mosquito Avatar continued deeper along the main passage.
Lin Yi had no need to search for the main chamber’s specific location. The enormous, golden-red dot of light on the Tracking map, as dazzling as a lighthouse, was the best guide!
「Soon.」
The Mosquito Avatar flew before the massive, heavy stone door of the main chamber.
However, right before this final barrier to the main chamber, something unexpected happened!
In the center of the passage, not far from the stone door, a huge stone coffin was conspicuously placed!
The material of this coffin was clearly different from the wooden ones in the side chamber. It was carved from a single piece of bluish-black Giant Stone, its lid sealed shut, and its surface was covered in profound and incomprehensible talisman patterns.
It was like a silent guardian.
Faithfully guarding the critical path to the main chamber!
What made Lin Yi’s heart pound in fear was what the Tracking map displayed!
’Hiss... The thing inside this coffin... what a powerful energy fluctuation!’
On the Tracking map, the dot of light inside the stone coffin—its brightness, the intensity of the energy it contained—was actually several times more dazzling than Chen Zhenguo’s!
What did this mean?
Chen Zhenguo was a genuine Fourth Grade expert!
For the Tracking ability to show it as several times stronger than Chen Zhenguo... the zombie in this stone coffin had definitely reached the terrifying Fifth Grade Realm!
It might even be stronger!
’Fuck! A gatekeeping tomb-guardian zombie is a fucking Fifth Grade at minimum?!’
A storm raged in Lin Yi’s mind, and a chill shot up from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.
’Then in the main chamber, if Wangwu Mountain’s master also reanimated... just how powerful would it be?!’
He didn’t dare to linger for a second, let alone startle this terrifying door god.
The Mosquito Avatar retracted all of its aura to the absolute limit, becoming like a truly inanimate object. It clung to the cold rock of the passage ceiling and, at the slowest, steadiest pace, carefully circled around the bluish-black stone coffin that radiated a terrifying aura.
「Finally.」
It flew into the main chamber!
Upon entering the main chamber, the scene captured by the Mosquito Avatar’s compound eyes left Lin Yi completely stunned!
A complete mess!
Shocking to behold!
The solemn and dignified scene he had imagined for the main chamber was nowhere to be seen.
On the contrary, the massive coffin in the center of the chamber, which should have been the final resting place of the tomb’s owner, was now shattered into pieces!
Fragments of Wood and stone were scattered everywhere.
And in the middle of these fragments was a pile of equally shattered, scorched pieces of a corpse!
The pieces had long lost any human shape, as if they had been utterly torn apart and incinerated by some kind of berserk power!
But the strangest thing, the thing that drew Lin Yi’s gaze the most, was the ball of flame burning fiercely atop the scorched corpse fragments!
The flame was a solid golden-yellow!
It burned silently, making no crackling sounds, as if it had incinerated sound itself.
What was most horrifying was that this flame seemed to have been burning here for hundreds of years!
The corpse fragments beneath it had long since carbonized, and the surrounding ground was scorched black and cracked.
Yet it showed no signs of extinguishing. Instead, it exuded a strange aura of being Eternal and undying!
The entire scene was as if a heaven-defyingly powerful zombie was about to break out of its coffin and ascend through its tribulation, only to be struck down by terrifying Thunder from the heavens, instantly obliterating its body and soul!
All that remained was this strange flame, a testament to both its existence and its destruction!
However, when Lin Yi observed that strange flame carefully through the Mosquito Avatar’s senses, an indescribable sense of familiarity instantly flooded his mind!
That feeling...
That pure, Origin aura...
’Spiritual Essence!!’
Lin Yi’s mind was practically screaming!
’This feeling... That’s it! It’s exactly the same as when I encountered the Kidney-Water Spiritual Essence!’
