Many of the students had looks of unconcealed admiration and eagerness on their faces as they gestured for Lin Yi to go straight to the front of the line.

Just then, with a soft HISS, the heavy alloy door to one of the combat rooms slowly slid open. A student walked out, his face etched with fatigue yet beaming with excitement.

The students queuing at the door didn’t immediately rush to take his place. Instead, they all turned to look at Lin Yi and invited him forward in unison:

“Forest God! Are you here for an assessment? This combat room just freed up! Please, go ahead!”

“That’s right! The Forest God goes first! We’re in no rush!”

Seeing their genuine enthusiasm and the path they had cleared for him, Lin Yi offered a warm smile. Without any pretense, he cupped his fist in gratitude.

“Then I thank you all!”

He wasn’t about to refuse an offer that would save him precious time.

“You’re too kind, Forest God!”

“It’s only right!”

“Go for it, Forest God!!”

“Do your best, Forest God!”

Watched by countless fervent gazes and amidst a chorus of cheers, Lin Yi, holding his Owl Dragon Spear, walked with steady steps into the combat room that had just been vacated.

The heavy alloy door closed silently and swiftly behind him, cutting off all the noise and gazes from the outside world.

The red light above the door lit up once more.

In the hallway, the excited discussions didn’t cease; in fact, they grew even more intense:

“Oh my god! Lin Yi actually came! Hasn’t he been holed up in the Body Technique Cultivation Room for the last twenty-something days?”

“Yeah! He didn’t even show up for the last class placement assessment, and that was so important!”

“And now he suddenly shows up at a combat room… could it be… could he be confident enough to challenge the legendary Tier Nine?”

“No way! That’s Tier Nine we’re talking about! In the hundred years since our training camp was founded, not a single student from any year has ever managed to clear that Hell-difficulty stage!”

“Could it be… that today… the Forest God is going to make history and become the first person to do it in a hundred years?!”

Countless pairs of eyes were fixed on that closed alloy door, its red light glowing ominously.

Tension, anticipation, and disbelief clashed in the air.

The entire hallway fell into a brief, heavy silence.

…

Inside the combat room, the cold alloy walls reflected a pale, sterile light.

WHIR!

A faint activation sound broke the silence.

The floor in the center of the room slid open silently.

The familiar black mechanical puppet slowly rose, coming to a steady halt before Lin Yi once again.

Under the overhead lights, its cold metal body gleamed with a dark, dangerous sheen.

“Student Lin Yi, your current record is: Tier Nine, 17 minutes and 46 seconds. Do you wish to repeat the assessment?”

The cold, synthesized voice echoed through the room.

“Bring it on!”

Lin Yi growled.

The battle intent in his eyes was so intense it seemed tangible.

Though he kept his Qi and Blood contained, he still exuded a faintly sharp aura that could make one’s heart tremble, like a peerless Divine Weapon on the verge of being unsheathed.

「Twenty days ago.」

It was the same place, the same opponent.

Back then, even giving it his all, he had only managed to last a grueling 17 minutes and 46 seconds against this mechanical puppet before he was declared defeated!

In his eyes, the mechanical puppet had been an unbeatable existence.

Its terrifying Fourth-Grade attack power and speed, combined with an astonishingly durable alloy body that would give even other Fourth-Grade Martial Artists a headache, was overwhelming.

At the time, Lin Yi couldn’t see the slightest glimmer of hope for victory.

However, things were different now!

Although Lin Yi was still in the Third Grade Realm and the total volume of his Qi and Blood hadn’t increased significantly, he now had four great Intents: Fast Gun Intent, Thunder Light Intent, Overlapping Waves Intent, and Wave Intent!

His strength had skyrocketed by an unimaginable degree!

‘This Tier Nine mechanical puppet before me?’

‘It no longer posed any threat at all!’

“I request the Tier Nine assessment!”

Lin Yi said calmly, his voice filled with absolute confidence.

“Command confirmed! The Tier Nine test will now commence. Student Lin Yi, please prepare. Countdown: 3… 2… 1… Begin!”

The instant the mechanical voice faded, the eyes of the mechanical puppet in the center of the room flashed a piercing scarlet!

A violent, murderous aura instantly flooded the entire combat room!

WHOOSH!

A dull BOOM erupted from beneath the mechanical puppet’s feet as its massive metal body blurred into a black afterimage, tearing through the air!

Its enormous fist, clad in Fourth-Grade alloy, flew straight for Lin Yi’s face, carrying enough titanic force to shatter boulders!

It moved so fast that to an ordinary Third-Grade Martial Artist, the attack would have been nothing more than the blurred shadow of a fist!

‘Slow! Far too slow!’

A look of disappointment flickered in Lin Yi’s eyes.

The attack, which would seem lightning-fast to anyone else, was as clear as a slow-motion replay to his eyes, now enhanced by his Thunder Light Intent.

The once-suffocating pressure now just seemed clumsy and laughable!

CRACKLE!

A faint peal of thunder echoed!

Lin Yi’s figure abruptly blurred, as if he had transformed into a leaping silver serpent of electricity, impossible for the naked eye to follow!

He had pushed his *Thunder Light Step* to its absolute limit!

The puppet’s seemingly inescapable punch only tore through the faint afterimage Lin Yi had left behind.

Meanwhile, amid a flash of lightning, Lin Yi’s true form had appeared like a phantom less than three feet behind the mechanical puppet!

“Break!”

A sharp glint flashed in Lin Yi’s eyes. The Owl Dragon Long Spear in his hand seemed to become an extension of his body, instantly infused with Fast Gun Intent!

There were no fancy moves—only the purest speed and precision!

A glint of cold light flashed. The tip of the spear shot forward like a silver meteor, tearing through the air with a piercing shriek as it stabbed with unerring accuracy toward the center of the puppet’s back.

CLANG!!!

The deafening shriek of metal on metal erupted through the room!
