My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 360: A Thousand Reminders and Ten Thousand Instructions
"This won’t work. Everyone recognizes me. If we keep going like this, we won’t be able to get through. I’ll take my wife and go on ahead. We’ll wait for you all up front," Chu Feng said.
"Alright, you two go on ahead then," Chu Tianshan said, nodding.
Chu Feng wasn’t wrong. Too many people idolized him. Once they spotted him, they would all surely want to come over and say a few words.
"Let’s go, honey." After he spoke, Chu Feng took Su Miaoke’s hand and they went ahead.
The path to the southern canyon was relatively easy to traverse. It had been cleared out long ago, so they made good time.
Even while leading Su Miaoke, Chu Feng’s pace remained incredibly fast; he didn’t slow down at all.
They reached the entrance of the southern Grand Canyon in just over ten minutes.
The area was still quiet, with few people around. There were only about twenty-odd Foundation Establishment Realm Cultivators, elites chosen from the various sects of the Great Snow Mountain to be responsible for security in the southern region.
Upon seeing Chu Feng, all twenty-odd Foundation Establishment Realm Cultivators bowed respectfully. "Greetings, Venerable Chu Feng!"
"Where are the two Venerables from the Three Swords Sect?" Chu Feng asked.
"Those two Venerables from the Three Swords Sect are already inside the Grand Canyon."
"How long until the selection trial begins?" Chu Feng asked again.
"Once everyone has arrived and received their scoreboards, it can begin," one of the Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators replied.
"Fine. I’ll wait outside the Grand Canyon today," Chu Feng said. "When you go in, pay close attention. You must get any situation under control immediately."
In truth, they could only do their best to control the situation; no one could guarantee a perfect outcome.
"This is my wife," Chu Feng said. "Keep an eye on her. I’m not asking for anything else, but she absolutely cannot be in any danger. Understand?"
"As you command, Venerable Chu Feng!" the Foundation Establishment Realm experts nodded.
Besides, several of them were from the Celestial Sword Sect. They would have looked out for her even without Chu Feng’s orders.
But now that Chu Feng had spoken, everyone certainly knew what to do. After all, this was a figure at the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm.
Not to mention, Chu Feng’s reputation was renowned. The opportunity to do him a favor was something they could only dream of.
"Then I thank you all!" Chu Feng said, cupping his fist to the group. Then, he and Su Miaoke sat down to one side to wait quietly.
"Hubby, aren’t we kind of... pulling strings here?" Su Miaoke asked cautiously.
"We are. What of it?" Chu Feng asked.
’She was his wife, so he was arranging for people to look after her. What was wrong with that? He was a Martial Arts Venerable, after all.’
’If anyone had a problem with it, they were free to come and make trouble.’
"You’re just going to say that so bluntly?" Su Miaoke was stunned. She hadn’t expected Chu Feng to be so direct and unabashed.
In her view, this sort of thing was a little embarrassing, and it was awkward to talk about so openly.
But in Chu Feng’s eyes, there was no need to hide it. It was what it was. If anyone had a problem, they were welcome to come and find him.
’After all, his power was right there for all to see. Who would dare object?’
Soon, nearly half an hour had passed, and people began to arrive.
As they arrived, staff members began handing out scoreboards in order.
Inside, there were practically no rules. If you had connections and were well-liked, you could form teams as you pleased. All you had to do was earn three points and survive for five days to advance.
Chu Feng and Su Miaoke were lounging on chairs that had been prepared for them off to the side.
Just then, Bai Han walked over, her face hidden behind a veil.
Otherwise, chaos would erupt wherever she went. Her devastating beauty could easily bewitch the minds of others.
"Senior Sister Bai Han, you’re here too?" Su Miaoke called out, getting to her feet when she saw her.
"Mhm. Ten disciples from the Celestial Sword Sect are participating, so I came to have a look," Bai Han said.
For a sect of the Celestial Sword Sect’s caliber, its ambitions were far greater than those of many Martial Arts Families.
They were aiming to take first place. Even if they couldn’t win the championship, they had to at least finish in the top ten.
Then again, that was merely the Celestial Sword Sect’s goal. Whether they could achieve it was hard to say; after all, far too many geniuses had shown up this time.
"The Chu Family is here. I’m going now," Su Miaoke said, giving a light kick to Chu Feng, who was still lounging in his chair.
"Go on, be careful," Chu Feng instructed. "If you run into danger and have no way out, just say your husband’s name. Tell them who you are. They won’t dare touch you."
In fact, Chu Feng had also secretly placed a few Divine Soul Marks on Su Miaoke as a precaution.
If Su Miaoke were to encounter danger, his Divine Soul Marks could help her block an attack, and Chu Feng would be able to sense it as well.
This was the difference between a Spirit Cultivator and a Martial Cultivator. Martial Cultivators relied almost entirely on their fists.
Spirit Cultivators had far more advantages and a wider array of techniques. Naturally, their offensive power and overall strength were greater.
"I know, don’t you worry," Su Miaoke said with a smile.
