My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 444: Wizard
He would slaughter a few ninjas from the Wo Country and put some of the Great Snow Mountain sects in their place.
Otherwise, they might actually start thinking he was old and useless. How dare they defy his word and even band together to oppose him?
“Seven Kills Sword Master of the Martial Arts Grand Ceremony,” the figure completely shrouded in black cloth said coldly. “Let’s see just how strong you really are, or if your reputation is all for show.”
His pronunciation was bizarre, sending shivers down the spine of anyone who heard him.
This man was a Wizard who used a kind of wicked Magic, but it required him to chant Spells.
So, as the man walked toward the fighting stage, he was already muttering under his breath.
Chu Feng witnessed this. He hadn’t expected the man to be so dishonorable, starting his preparations before even stepping onto the stage.
And since the Wizard hadn’t officially entered the stage, attacking him would be against the rules.
“This guy is shameless,” Chu Feng muttered, at a loss for words.
The man was only moving his lips, and his movements were so subtle that many people didn’t notice a thing.
The moment the man stepped onto the stage, a strange black mist began to swirl around him.
This left the crowd baffled; they could only sense that something was incredibly strange.
“Shameless bastard,” the Seven Kills Sword Master grumbled, having also noticed.
He hadn’t expected the man to start preparing in advance—a truly insidious and despicable villain.
“Die! Dark Night Demon Sky!” the man snarled with a grin. The pupils in his eyes began to transform, shifting from round to vertical slits, a truly bizarre sight.
Seeing this, the Seven Kills Sword Master’s expression turned grave.
From below, Chu Feng observed intently. He discovered that as the man chanted his Spell, some kind of power seemed to be gathering from the surrounding void.
His Divine Soul had perceived it keenly.
‘What is this? Some kind of communication or summoning? Where is this power coming from? It looks pretty potent, but it’s just an external force. He’s completely ignoring his own strength. If someone gets in close, he’s a dead man sooner or later!’ Chu Feng thought.
In Chu Feng’s view, no matter the method, one’s own power should always be the foundation.
Only by strengthening one’s own body and soul could one achieve lasting power; otherwise, all efforts were futile.
However, this was merely Chu Feng’s personal philosophy.
How others chose to pursue their Cultivation, and by what methods, was none of his business.
It was possible that other methods of Cultivation existed; it was hard to say for sure.
But based on everything Chu Feng had encountered so far, he believed focusing on one’s own power was still the better path.
‘After all, I’m still just feeling my way through things. There’s so much I don’t understand yet.’
The path of Cultivation had always encompassed many different methods. Some specialized in the Divine Soul, others in the physical body, and still others, like this Wizard, relied on summoning external forces.
There were even those who advanced their Cultivation by awakening the power of ancient bloodlines within their bodies.
Although such paths were perilous, it all came down to personal choice, and some people were perfectly suited for these particular methods of Cultivation.
“Die!” The Seven Kills Sword Master felt an intense sense of danger, so he lunged forward with his sword in that instant.
CLANG!
His longsword struck the strange black mist but was stopped cold, unable to pierce through!
The Seven Kills Sword Master’s expression changed drastically. He never imagined such a thing was possible.
At the same time, the sky above began to grow dark.
But it was only the afternoon; it couldn’t possibly turn dark as night so suddenly. The sun had been shining brightly just a moment ago.
This sudden development didn’t just startle the Seven Kills Sword Master; the surrounding Martial Cultivators were also profoundly shaken.
None of them had ever imagined the match would turn out like this.
Could a mere Wizard possess such great power? Could he command the clouds and mist? Could he make the very sky change color?
“Hah! I have already reached the Martial Arts Limit. Did you think I’d be frightened by such petty tricks? Taste my blade!” the Seven Kills Sword Master said with a cold glare.
He then began to swing and slash relentlessly, unleashing wave after wave of Sword Qi. He refused to believe that he couldn’t shatter the man’s bizarre black mist barrier.
As Martial Cultivators, they all shared one belief: use absolute power to shatter everything!
No matter the defense, with enough power, it could be annihilated!
Otherwise, if these so-called Wizards were truly that powerful, the entire Great Xia would have fallen long ago.
Clearly, their abilities were more for intimidation than true power.
There had to be people who could deal with them.
Many Martial Cultivators within the Great Xia Country had some knowledge of these so-called Wizards and knew what they were about.
But they had never seen one like the man today. He was a rare and formidable sight indeed.
The sky grew completely dark, as if night had fallen.
Many people could no longer see what was in front of them; they couldn’t even see their own hands held before their faces.
But Chu Feng’s Divine Soul was powerful. He could clearly sense that the black mist only covered a radius of a few hundred meters; it just happened to have enveloped everyone present.
