My Online Girlfriend Has a Twin Sister
Chapter 759 510: We Are Sisters After All
A sliver of light filtered through the dancing curtains, casting a long streak upon the wooden floor.
「The next morning.」
A wisp of hair clung to Jiangg Ning's forehead. Her hair trembled in time with the dancing curtains, and her exquisitely beautiful face was serene with sleep.
A man's arm was wrapped around her neck, holding her tight, his fingers buried deep in the soft comforter.
One couldn't help but wonder what kind of person was lucky enough to have such a perfect lover.
Chen Yuan had been tireless last night. All she could remember was being drenched in sweat, her back and legs aching.
It didn't end until she was exhausted.
Throughout, Chen Yuan had made her call him 'darling' countless times. Ningning submitted, having no choice but to comply. She lost count of how many times she praised him, but he only grew more pleased with himself, seemingly without end.
In the end, once she was exhausted, she simply closed her eyes.
She fell asleep almost instantly.
That just went to show how sated she was.
RUSTLE… RUSTLE…
Perhaps it was the sunlight, but Jiangg Ning wrinkled her delicate nose and her eyelids twitched. Her cheek slid down the pillow slightly, brushing against Chen Yuan's hand.
Jiangg Ning slowly stirred awake. She stared blankly at the ceiling for a moment as her senses returned, then tried to shift her body.
Instantly, a wave of tingling soreness washed over her, and a strained look appeared on Jiangg Ning's face.
A soft groan escaped her, and Jiangg Ning gave up on trying to get out of bed. Instead, she rolled onto her side, finding a more comfortable position.
The faint morning light chased the dimness from the bedroom.
'This expensive, big bed really is useful. At least the two of them could mess around on it as much as they wanted without worrying about falling off.'
In the sliver of light filtering through the curtains, Jiangg Ning looked over at Chen Yuan sleeping soundly beside her. They were so close she could count every single one of his long eyelashes.
'His eyelashes alone didn't seem to belong to a boy. They were just too long, fanning down over his eyes.'
'For some reason, Jiangg Ning suddenly recalled her grandmother telling her as a child that people with long eyelashes were fierce and hot-tempered... She had even worried about it back then, because Yaoyao's eyelashes weren't as long as hers.'
Jiangg Ning stared quietly at Chen Yuan's face, not even blinking.
'It suddenly felt so surreal.'
'Here I am, lying in bed with a man, without the slightest feeling of unease.'
'And what's more, I actually feel a sense of happiness and fulfillment from the bottom of my heart.'
'It seemed she already had everything that made life complete; she didn't dare wish for anything more.'
'Time would fly by in the blink of an eye.'
'A day, a season, a year.'
'And to think, this wasn't the end, but the beginning. In the future, there would be countless mornings just like this one, waking up feeling so content... stirring slowly from her dreams to see his sleeping face.'
Jiangg Ning suddenly had the urge to burrow into his arms and feel his body heat—a warmth so intense it felt like it could melt her.
'Maybe this is what it means to love someone. It's not just your heart fluttering in one romantic moment, but being able to enjoy that feeling every single moment you're in love with them.'
Jiangg Ning studied him for a long while, then bit her moist lip. Maybe it was her hormones, or maybe she was just dizzy with love, but after a soft rustle as she shuffled closer, Jiangg Ning leaned in, taking the initiative to try and steal a kiss.
Her eyes wide open, Chen Yuan's sleeping face grew larger and larger in her vision.
Suddenly, when their lips were just a hair's breadth apart, he opened his eyes.
"What are you trying to do so early in the morning?"
"You... you're awake?" Jiangg Ning's heart skipped a beat. 'I can't believe he caught me in such a shameless act.'
"I woke up half an hour ago. I just didn't want to disturb you since you were sleeping so soundly."
"So you were just pretending to be asleep."
"I was just resting my eyes... Ningning, why is your face so red?"
Chen Yuan wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her in, until their bodies were pressed flush against each other in an instant.
"Want to get intimate?" he asked softly.
Jiangg Ning's whole body trembled, and her beautiful eyes went wide as she stared at him.
"It's so early..."
...
"Yaoyao, are you awake yet?"
Chen Yuan and Jiangg Ning had already finished breakfast, but it was nearly noon and her little sister still wasn't out of bed.
The two of them were about to head to work at the Mingzhu City Inspection Team, so they had to wake Jiangg Yao to let her know. Besides, Jiangg Yao was supposed to travel abroad with their grandmother that afternoon.
Today was her last day at home.
"Honestly... She always sleeps in so late. How many times has she said she needs to take care of her skin, yet she still stays up all night and never changes," Jiangg Ning muttered to herself in the hallway.
Then she pushed open the door to the spare bedroom.
The curtains in the room were drawn tight, making it dark and gloomy. In the middle of the bed, she could vaguely make out a human-shaped lump.
"Yaoyao, rise and shine! Didn't we agree you'd get up early today? Just what time did you stay up until last—"
As Jiangg Ning spoke, she froze mid-motion, her hand on the comforter.
Having lifted it halfway, she realized something was wrong. It wasn't Jiangg Yao under the covers, just a pillow.
'Where had Jiangg Yao gone?'
Startled, she quickly threw the entire comforter off the bed.
There was no sign of her. Only a piece of paper, dislodged by the movement, drifted slowly to the floor.
Jiangg Ning knelt and picked it up.
"Sis, if all goes according to plan, you'll see this note in the morning. It's 3:06 a.m. right now, and my flight takes off in two hours. I've arranged with our cousin and Grandma to go to Paris first, then transfer to Saint-Malo. Since I missed the flight with them, I have to leave early."
"Even now, as I'm writing this letter, I'm still hesitating. I don't really want to go abroad... The thought of leaving you and Chen Yuan is terrifying to me. That's why I kept hesitating and missed my chance to book the original ticket."
"Then again, maybe it wasn't a mistake. Maybe this is for the best."
"Because if I wait until morning and see the Young Master, I know I'll regret my decision and refuse to go. I really can't bear to leave him... even if it's not for long."
"To be honest, this trip isn't just about making up with Grandpa and Grandma. There's another reason, a hidden one. Mom really wants you to figure out the answer in your heart, and soon. She's afraid that with me here, I'd be too much of a distraction for you. After all, I know what you're like."
"Sis, we're sisters. I know you better than I know myself."
"Don't lie to yourself. Please, face the truth in your heart. While I'm gone, it'll just be the two of you. Cherish this time together. After thinking it over and over, this is the only thing I can do for you... You've always treated me like a child, but I'm grown up now. You don't have to do everything for my sake. It's okay to be a little selfish, to fight for what you want. Only then will you have no regrets.
—Jiangg Yao."
After she finished reading the note, Jiangg Ning looked around the room and realized the suitcase was long gone.
Her little sister had boarded a plane in the dead of night, while the two of them were still fast asleep.
She must have made this decision because she was afraid that seeing Chen Yuan would make her lose the courage to leave.
For a moment, Jiangg Ning was stunned. She sat on the edge of the bed, motionless for a long time.
She lowered her gaze.
