My Players Are So Fierce – Handsome dog Frank
Chapter 2915 - 972: Old Edward’s First Kill
Chapter 2915: Chapter 972: Old Edward’s First Kill
"Ugh! This pile of rotten flesh is disgusting, how could a proper wolf person mutate into this? It’s almost like they’re chosen by Na Gou, and this smell! Even burning them is this nauseating!"
As dawn approached, outside the half-person factory that had been thoroughly cleared once, over forty surviving players gathered around a large bonfire and dragged the wolf people’s bodies to burn them, including the Filthy Overlord that Brother Qu and Captain Mia had jointly taken down. They even poured a lot of fire oil on them before igniting them with incendiary bombs.
With a whoosh, the flames leapt up.
It didn’t at all sound like they were burning bodies but rather like igniting a pile of dry wood yearning for fire. As the flames roared, strange gray ashes danced wildly in the air, releasing an even more nauseating smell, making those half-bodied people and human slaves rescued from the factory feel like they were in another world.
In truth, the players didn’t want to go through all this trouble. After all, the town was almost flattened by bombing, leaving these bodies here wouldn’t have been an issue, but Brother Qu had understood the danger of these corrupted entities from the earlier "chaotization" of the Gouqi.
He insisted that the players must burn the wolf people’s bodies and never leave them on the battlefield, to prevent a large-scale conversion into "Chaos Folk" later.
The players grumbled about this extra work, but they soon became cheerful because the rescued slaves led them to open the armory that the wolf people had prepared for the frontline war.
Besides an astounding number of explosives, they also captured some bizarre firearms.
In the warehouse, Brother Qu picked up a strange firearm with a caliber so large that a child could fit their fist inside. This thing looked more like a grenade launcher than a gun, but it had all the structures of a firearm.
However, it fired specially engineered bombs.
This thing had no firing pin. Instead, it was replaced by a spring. By chambering and releasing the trigger, it could launch a special bomb within a hundred meters, causing Old Qu and the other shooters to marvel. Isn’t this just the principle of the most primitive grenade launcher?
The wolf people can actually create this thing!
Have these barbarians suddenly become enlightened?
Upon asking further, it turned out it wasn’t designed by the wolf people.
"It’s a firearm specially designed by our mechanical engineers for the wolf people, and they call it ’Fire Fang.’"
A half-body mechanic, whose face was bruised from beatings and body emaciated from long hours of labor, said in shame:
"We truly didn’t want to aid in tyranny, we didn’t want to use our engineering skills for war, but those damn wolf people threatened us with our family and companions.
They took us to the edge of another town and threatened us to design simple and practical firearms for them.
Initially, we refused, but those bastards massacred a town right before our eyes, then took us to the front of a second town. We couldn’t even commit suicide. They said if we didn’t work honestly, they would keep killing until everyone on the Ligurian Peninsula was dead.
Waaah... It’s all our fault..."
The engineer covered his face and cried loudly, making the nearby half-bodied people, whose bodies were covered with whip scars, lower their heads. Besides fear, they also shared the same guilt as the crying one. They all had a part in the contribution to these bizarre weapon designs.
"It’s not your fault. It’s just that you were previously protected too well, and your understanding of the world is still at a fairy-tale stage. Unfortunately, for the scoundrels who have truly decided to do evil from the bottom of their hearts, there are too many ways to force you to comply once they have abandoned their bottom line."
Old Qu sighed, throwing the Fire Fang launcher in his hand to a newbie behind him. The latter was overjoyed, exclaiming happily with repeated shouts of "Brother Qu is so righteous" and ran out with his new weapon to show off.
Brother Qu smirked, glanced at the weapons pile next to him, knowing that there were enough for all the newbies, then refocused on the half-body mechanic, asking:
"Besides the grenade launcher, what other weapons did you design for the wolf people?"
"Also a backpack flamethrower and a landmine thrower. They forced us to modify the originally intricate explosives by removing most of the safety devices and overloading them, making them simple yet dangerous."
The engineer said, sobbing:
"This is just one of the several factories they occupied, and many like us are still working day and night helping them manufacture these killing machines.
Help us, we beg you!
Help us!
We can’t possibly do it on our own... Oh God, it’s so terrifying."
"Calm down, buddy, we’re here to help."
Brother Qu squatted down and said to the crying half-body mechanic in front of him:
"We know there’s a secret subway beneath the factory that leads to Charldo Harbor. We will soon go and support your city’s defense battle, but before that city is rescued, no supporters can spare manpower to save people like you.
You can follow us back to Charldo Harbor, or you can first go to rest in the Shield Dwarf’s territory.
You look terrible and truly need a good rest."
"Or there’s a third option!"
Captain Mia, standing next to Old Qu, suddenly spoke:
