Chapter 3152: Chapter 1050: Dusk Miscellany · Only When Placed on the Board Does the Sacrificial Piece Emerge

The Monk Leader apparently intends to abandon the settlers of the new continent; the Scholar merely expresses surprise but has no further reaction.

Currently, aside from the first batch of explorers who arrived in the new continent 49 years ago with the Adventurers’ Guild, the remaining settlers who have established nations here are the various disgraced individuals and scoundrels from different countries who have gradually arrived from the old continent over the past thirty years.

A considerable portion were once pirates, and they have formed a maritime force outside the New Federal United States called the "Seven Islands Alliance."

In the years before the Daguan Fishmen caused trouble forcing the closure of the new continent’s sea routes, every month several batches of "settlers" would arrive via the shipping routes under the Martin Company, and their numbers along with their descendants soon surpassed 150,000; now this number has nearly reached 300,000.

However, such a small number of people cannot occupy the whole Holy Spirit Plain, hence more than half the population of the New Federal consist of Ganote people who have joined due to various complex reasons.

Most of them are slaves, though a few chieftains have been accepted as official citizens.

After all, in a world possessing Spiritual Energy and spellcraft, large-scale manipulation and brainwashing of unprotected Barbarians is not as difficult as imagined, and the Monk Leader’s sharp commentary on genocide is not without basis.

The Twilight’s purpose for coming to the new continent is simple: to find the Heart of the World to launch the World Destroyer plan. Corrupting and manipulating the weakened demigods of the Holy Spirit Plain are means employed to better achieve this target; true World Destroyers regard all races equally, making a distinction between "civilized humans" and "barbarians" meaningless in their eyes. Consequently, true Twilight believers have no interest in slaughtering Ganote people.

Conversely, those settlers who came to the new continent hoping to get rich and become above the rest don’t see it that way.

In these years the capture and massacre of Ganote people have been handled by the New Federal United States. Their complex backgrounds and flexible moral standards make them not ashamed of this, especially after they’ve seized native lands and successfully acquired wealth; the massacre gains more robust interest support.

This led the New Federal to issue many outrageous decrees in the past, such as mass purchasing Ganote scalps to make boots, crafting their bone fingers into ornaments, and making their skin into musical instruments, among others.

These heinous actions were even seen by the Twilight members as overly extreme, and ironically, some Twilight members who had witnessed the Ganote massacre found themselves more convinced that the world is utterly rotten.

Look at the worst scum this world can cultivate, how they conduct killings of their kin openly and without remorse? Simply for some slaves and money, they can throw all human boundaries into the sewer while maintaining a smile.

In such a rotten world, wouldn’t destruction be better?

In short, in the eyes of the Twilight leadership, the New Federal, almost fostered single-handedly by them, is like a tool nearing its expiry. Once it has completed its historical mission, its abandonment isn’t something to grieve over.

The three Twilight Leaders are currently discussing a "trophy" brought back by the Monk Leader, an item placed in a wooden crate, devoid of spiritual energy yet unable to be transported through the Star Realm.

"Your investigation in the Heart of the World Jungle lasted a full two years and seven months, and now you’ve returned with something claiming to bring us hope of victory.

I do not distrust you, Honorable Monk Leader.

But as you know, my curiosity about mysterious items is insatiable."

The Scholar scrutinizes the wooden crate and asks:

"May I know what is inside it from you? To prevent being driven by damn curiosity one night, rushing to open something possibly not meant for my eyes. If this causes a rift between us, it would be most unfortunate."

"There’s nothing that can’t be revealed. After all, to cooperate with this ’Honorable,’ you’ll need to put in some effort."

The Monk Leader made a gesture to proceed.

The Scholar stepped forward, flexing his fingers to open the wooden crate, then peered inside.

The crate was filled with materialized chaos energy, like a black shadow domain. These energies, extremely harmful to the material world, did not escape but acted like subdued entities, obediently fulfilling their purpose.

At the center of the shadow domain, a humanoid was trapped in a curled position, barely discernible in darkness resembling a woman’s bodily lines, with intermittent gleams lighting up her forehead.

Even under such dense chaos energy suppression, the entity still maintained a difficult yet definite resistance.

"Look at what I’ve discovered!"

The Scholar exclaimed in a surprised voice:

"A Sentinel!

It appears to be a rare high-level Sentinel Commander. How did you manage this, Monk Leader? I’ve heard these Creator’s Servants seldom appear in the material world; their bases and main battlegrounds are inside the subspace fortresses.
