My Players Are So Fierce
Chapter 3159: A Game Without Gold Farming Won’t Survive Long; Likewise, In-Game Economy Matters (Part 2)
This is an organization of twelve hundred people. Running such a large organization isn’t much simpler than managing a company in real life. To better manage the guild, Chen Long even registered a company in reality.
The Zodiac Brothers are the basic members of this company.
It’s clearly mimicking the feat of signing a labor contract in reality by Happy Stick and Little Brother Fu. As for who the big sponsor behind Proud Unyielding in reality is, Chen Long has always been unwilling to disclose it, not even mentioning it.
But the extra private number of Loyal Brother on his phone silently explains everything.
Thanks to the exceptionally robust gold coin exchange business on third-party platforms, Chen Long has led his siblings in making a tidy profit over the past few months, further igniting everyone’s passion for the game and making them more attentive to operating the guild.
It’s said that the student faction is actively negotiating with sports students to form a company and has boldly hired Crow Brother to serve as their legal advisor.
They have much to learn in operating a guild. While Proud Unyielding is considered a typical “mixed bag” by veteran players, it hasn’t caused any scandal from equipment distribution since its establishment.
It’s not because the guild members are particularly virtuous; it’s mainly because Chen Long implemented the “DKP” system from the start, establishing the rule of “the more you work, the more you earn,” which has led other players to secretly mock the Proud Unyielding players as “clocking-in workers,” lacking the boldness and freedom typical of gaming.
But despite the talk, after other small guilds began to fall apart due to unfair equipment distribution, Proud Unyielding emerged as a “pure stream” among players.
The DKP system, despite its issues, at least ensures players’ basic rights are protected from harm.
Unfortunately, Chen Long currently isn’t accepting more membership applications.
The guild has already reached the management limit of its current system. If the number of people increases further, it might become chaotic. To accept more members, they’d need to appoint leaders in the Zodiac management and establish the Thirteenth Group, or delegate authority to form more “sub-groups” within the guild.
But deciding who to promote as a leader is an important question, which is why Brother Goji tirelessly helps newbies with equipment and storyline quests.
Although his name is humorous, Brother Goji, as a newcomer, has his ambition. It’s unlikely he’ll become the “lord” of the Thirteenth Group since he’s new to the game, but he hopes to own a hundred-man battle troupe soon.
“Goji, check the forum!”
Just as Goji was aiming his gun at another suspicious bush, a newbie beside him, fiddling with a Berserker Rifle, nudged his arm and whispered:
“The development team posted news! The new post specifically discusses new players; they’ll open 3500 slots when the new DLC launches in twenty days.”
“What? 3500 slots?”
Startled, Goji retracted his aim and said to his colleague “Erxianqiao Tan Bro” beside him:
“I remember the rest of our team ranks between 1500 and 2500 on the reservation list, right? Does that mean they can get in after twenty days?”
“Yeah, then our team brothers can form a ten-man team approximately.”
Brother Tan grinned, then frowned:
“But the captain also approached me about it. You know, the captain’s a passionate fan of tactical flags, eager to form his own Mercenary Corps once he learned about the game. But his reservation ranks over 13000.”
He’s quite petty; if he knows we got in and he didn’t, he’d sulk for sure.”
“Why care? He’d be a newbie too, needing us to guide him.”
Goji chuckled, leaned against a sniper point, and scanned the post on the forum. Not only did it announce the 3500 slots, but also a series of updates for newbies entering the game.
The most significant change is new players entering the game won’t enjoy free race transfers anymore; afterward, transferring races relies strictly on reputation with the target faction. After securing the necessary items, they must obtain a reserve corporal rank in Transylvania to submit an application.
This means newbies must first earn military merits for Transylvania before transferring races, and the service fee goes to the Blood Vulture Clan Midnight Faction.
“Damn, that’s greedy.”
Goji returned to the game, complaining to “Erxianqiao Tan Bro” beside him:
“Now we’re all contributing wholeheartedly to Sir Murphy’s cause. Luckily, this minor update doesn’t affect us old players. I haven’t used my free race transfer opportunity yet; planning to switch to Forest Elf or Moon Elf after heading to the Elf Kingdom. What about you?”
“Me? I’m easygoing. I think the Nord template works well as is, plus I’m not a professional player chasing strength.”
Brother Tan shrugged and said:
“I’m just here to unwind. After I earn my first pot of gold, I’ll plan to run some business and maybe form a trading company. Even if I can’t get rich in reality, it won’t stop me from striving to become a millionaire in the game. Hey, Old Liu just messaged me, said he won the Mountain People template in the ‘Newbie Set Sail’ event on the forum.”
