My Professions Have Too Much Personality
Chapter 603 - 330: Steady Progress, Endless Abyss
Su Chen reached out and closed his hand. The drops of Divine Blood vanished in his grasp, one by one. When only the last drop remained, the panel finally reacted—
[The Purifier has obtained enough Divine Blood and is attempting analysis. It is disgusted by the excessive impurities and requires more time to complete the process.]
Four drops? Su Chen’s eyebrow twitched. ’That’s not too bad.’
With only one drop left, Su Chen had no intention of trying for the Lost Flame. By his calculations, he’d need to collect around ten drops to be on the safe side.
’Let’s see... As for the Faceless Ghost, I can trade Sun’s name for a drop or two. But I definitely can’t tell him the real plan, or something unexpected is bound to happen.’
Su Chen calculated. ’If I mix in some half-truths, I can probably squeeze another three or four drops out of the Faceless Ghost. Five drops will be the absolute limit. That still leaves a significant shortfall.’
’Old Hei, oh Old Hei, why’d you have to go quiet on me?’
Su Chen sighed. If Black Tuo were still active, he could have gotten some from him.
Crimson, Cunning Fox, Dark Plague... He ran through the other Great Deceitful Gods whose Believers he could potentially impersonate.
He’d never had any contact with these Great Deceitful Gods. While he could try to probe them, he wasn’t familiar with their individual temperaments.
’No need to rush. I’ll take it one step at a time.’ After a moment’s thought, Su Chen decided not to treat the matter of the Lost Flame as his top priority.
He had his panel. The Lost Flame wasn’t important enough to make him completely abandon his plans and dive in headfirst.
He would stick to his original plan and proceed with caution, focusing first on the Melting Holy Profession and purifying the Fog Ashes.
His surroundings gradually disintegrated, and Su Chen returned to the real world.
...
No one outside of his own Profound Celestial Sect knew that Lu Huai had gone missing. The only other party aware was the Royal Court, which needed the Profound Celestial Instrument and had been urging him to leave quickly.
To prevent the situation from escalating, the Profound Celestial Sect kept the matter quiet.
However, ever since Lu Huai was sent out of the Copper Heart, rumors had quietly begun to circulate.
"I heard that the surge of Divine Dawn Light from the Copper Heart Department a while back wasn’t from some talent the Bronze Sect was secretly cultivating. They say it was the result of a transformation."
Someone in a Dragon Abyss restaurant spoke in a hushed, secretive tone.
The Peak Star Conference had drawn people from countless factions. Two or three months had passed since the start of the preliminaries, and the initial excitement had died down.
Now, the main activity was networking with other factions. All sorts of collaborations were born from these casual conversations, which was another important aspect of the Peak Star Conference.
"A transformation? What do you mean?" someone asked, their interest piqued.
"It means they used the Profound Celestial Instrument to transform from Star Amber to Divine Dawn."
"The Profound Celestial Instrument? The treasure of the Profound Celestial Sect? I thought its limit was Star Amber. Are you serious?"
Anyone qualified to come to Dragon Abyss, even those just here for the spectacle, represented at least a minor hegemon in their own region. Naturally, they knew about the Profound Celestial Instrument.
"Serious?" someone in a corner chuckled. "It was definitely the Profound Celestial Instrument. And do you know who it was that transformed and gained Twin Divine Dawns?"
The voice was just loud enough, instantly drawing the attention of a large group of people.
"Who was it? Come on, friend, don’t leave us hanging. If you’ve got exclusive information, spit it out."
The speaker, a portly middle-aged man, took a slow sip of his drink. He pointed out the window, where a massive leaderboard for the preliminaries was clearly visible.
"What’s that supposed to mean? Who is it?"
He chuckled. "Who else could it be? Su Chen!"
As his words fell, the restaurant immediately erupted in clamor.
"Su Chen? It’s him again?"
The portly middle-aged man shook his head. "The Bronze Sect isn’t even trying to hide it. All their higher-ups already know. The news will be all over the place soon."
"The man has some incredible luck!" someone said, their tone a mixture of envy and jealousy. "First, he gets chosen by the Great Venerable Red Flame Thunder Resonator on a Desolate Planet, and now he achieves an unprecedented transformation into Twin Divine Dawns using the Profound Celestial Instrument."
"Luck?" The middle-aged man scoffed. "If only it were just luck."
...
BAM!
A dull thud echoed. Wu Yue slammed his palm on the metal tabletop, leaving a deep dent. He shot to his feet, his expression grim. "Su Chen? Twin Divine Dawns?"
Across from him, Sheng Huaixu’s brows were tightly furrowed, his heart in turmoil. "The Profound Celestial Instrument can actually do that?"
He himself only had a single Divine Dawn. As for the Dual Divine Dawn Talent, even counting all the long-famous figures, there were only five in the entire Dust Star Sea.
No, now there were six.
A Star Seed with Twin Divine Dawns is only born when conditions are absolutely perfect. One might not appear in the Dust Star Sea for hundreds, or even thousands, of years.
Sheng Huaixu couldn’t help but glance at the massive leaderboard outside, his mind in turmoil. He feared they wouldn’t have to wait for the next Peak Star Conference; Su Chen was poised to cause a sensation at this one.
Wu Yue’s expression was ugly. "A reversal of fortune? The Bronze Sect hasn’t even hit rock bottom yet. How are things already looking up for them?"
As the days passed, the news spread far and wide. The Prophet Council was quick to update its rankings.
On the Talent list, Su Chen was ranked sixth. Due to his age, he was placed just behind Xiao Linfeng, a fact that immediately sparked heated debate across the Dust Star Sea.
Meanwhile, the Profound Celestial Instrument was thrown into the spotlight. This was especially true at this particular juncture, as the Star Seeds of every Sect were aware of the Spirit of Sun.
Some Star Amber Level Star Seeds had already given up hope.
But now, Su Chen’s transformation into Twin Divine Dawns via the Profound Celestial Instrument had rekindled a flame of desire in their hearts.
...
"Sigh..."
In a room at the Profound Celestial Sect’s residence, Lu Huai leaned back on the sofa and sighed deeply, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "The news is completely out. Several Sects have been secretly contacting us, asking about the transformation method. How the hell would I know what the transformation method is?"
