"Alright, Rose," he said, his voice dropping into a low, measured tone. "What was it you wanted to talk about?"

"Does Rose really need to voice her question out?" Rose smiled, tilting her head with effortless charm as she met his gaze with an unblinking, tranquil calm.

"Yeah."

"Oki." Rose let out a soft, melodic giggle.

Closing the short distance between them in the enclosed front cabin, she slid smoothly across the center console.

She reached up with a pale, slender hand, running the pads of her cool fingers along his cheek and strong jawline.

She leaned in close, inhaling deeply to savor the lingering traces of female human perfume and sweat that clung to his skin and shirt fabric.

"Rose wants hubby to explain why hubby’s clothes smell so distinctly like another human," she whispered softly. Her crimson gaze locked onto his pupils, mesmerizing yet undeniably dangerous.

Her thumb drifted upward, brushing gently against the sensitive curve of his lower lip. "Why hubby’s lips have a small injury, as if someone bit him during a passionate moment..."

Her expression subtly sharpened. Letting out a light, haughty scoff, she settled her weight directly onto his lap and pressed her chest against him, her long, silky crimson hair cascading over his shoulders like a rich velvet drape.

"And why hubby feels the need for another woman when he already has me."

Fredrinn swallowed hard, feeling his pulse spike as heat rushed straight through his veins. Her method of interrogation was extraordinarily seductive, yet undeniably suffocating.

He forced his mind to stay grounded. Despite her playful purrs, the underlying questions were a loaded minefield.

She had caught Jenny’s scent, pinpointed the bite mark, and possessed far more wits than she used to.

One wrong step, one clumsy excuse, and he could easily find himself on the receiving end of a deadly strike.

"Do you want me to be completely honest with you?" Fredrinn asked, keeping his voice steady.

"Of course, hubby." Rose smiled sweetly.

Her eyes darted sideways for a fraction of a second toward the translucent quest window hovering quietly at the edge of her vision.

She had followed the requirements to the letter: she hadn’t thrown a tantrum, she hadn’t made a scene, and she was questioning him in strict privacy.

Now, it was entirely on him to explain himself so she could clear the objective. Beyond that, she genuinely craved the real truth—his honesty mattered far more to her than any mystical reward.

"Okay... Tell me, Rose, do you have something called the Best Wife System?" Fredrinn asked calmly.

Rose froze completely.

Her crimson pupils dilated, and for the first time since her awakening, her effortless composure shattered into pieces. She blinked rapidly, staring at him in sheer, unmasked shock, her hands stiffening against his chest.

"H-How does hubby know about that?" she stammered, caught entirely off guard.

Fredrinn let out a low chuckle, sliding his arm around her slender waist with an easy, confident shrug. "Take a guess, wife."

Hearing him casually call her wife sent a warm, pleasant flutter through her chest, but intense curiosity quickly pushed the fluster aside.

She hummed thoughtfully, tapping a finger against her chin before her eyes lit up in sudden alarm. "The floating panel was visible to you too?! Did the other humans see it as well?!"

Fredrinn, who had been about to flash an arrogant, knowing smirk, caught himself and paused. Looking at her bewildered expression, he burst into a genuine laugh and shook his head.

"No, no. Wrong guess entirely. I couldn’t see your system interface at all."

"Then how...?" Rose tilted her head, her brow furrowing deeply in frustration. Pouting her soft lips, she gave his shoulder a light shove. "Rose doesn’t want to play guessing games anymore!"

Fredrinn smiled fondly, lifting a hand to gently stroke her crimson hair, keeping his fingers away from the sleek curve of her demonic horns. Rose instantly melted into the touch, nuzzling her head into his palm like a content cat.

"I know about it because that system came directly from me."

Rose went dead still beneath his hand. Slowly, she lifted her head, looking up at him with a piercing, brilliant crimson gaze.

"Is that the absolute truth?" she asked.

This time, all the cute, exaggerated antics were gone. Her voice was remarkably steady, serious, and laced with mature intellect.

"Yeah. It is." Fredrinn replied, slightly taken aback by how effortlessly she flipped the switch on her demeanor, but he answered her with unwavering conviction.

Rose nodded slowly, processing the revelation with razor-sharp focus. "I see... That makes sense. Don’t tell anyone else about this, okay? It has to remain strictly between you and me."

Fredrinn narrowed his eyes in slight suspicion. "Why? Are you hiding something from me, Rose?"

A bright, breathtaking smile instantly bloomed across Rose’s face as her cheerful persona returned at full throttle. "Yes, hubby! Rose cannot reveal everything to you just yet, but hubby trusts Rose, right? You won’t go around telling anyone else, right?"

Fredrinn let out a faint sigh of amusement at the dizzying whiplash of her shifting moods. He nodded smoothly. "Don’t worry. I never planned on telling anyone other than you in the first place."

He spoke with complete sincerity.

As an evolved demonic entity, Rose was entirely detached from the petty, envious greed that drove ordinary human survivors.

If she wouldn’t even spill her own secrets to him, there was zero chance she would blab his foundational abilities to outsiders.

Furthermore, her status as his voluntary thrall established an innate bond of loyalty.

To Rose, however, his response sounded like the ultimate praise. It confirmed that she occupied a unique, untouchable pedestal in his heart, far above any other creature.

"Rose agrees completely with hubby. Other humans are untrustworthy," she declared, nodding with immense satisfaction. "Hubby’s secrets are completely safe with Rose. But..."

Her smile suddenly thinned, her eyes narrowing playfully as her index finger poked his chest with deliberate force.

"That still doesn’t explain why hubby was messing around with that human ska—cough... with Jenny."
