[ <LUST> smirks. So the host does remember it... It was feeling quite lonely when host wasn’t talking to it. ]

After hearing the bullshit Lust was spouting, Fredrinn let out a quiet sigh of exhaustion.

He knew what was coming next.

He had gotten slightly used to Lust’s personality even though they hadn’t interacted much. The entity was consistently troublesome, always looking for an angle, and treated everything like a twisted game made entirely for its personal entertainment.

And indeed... As he had expected...

[ <LUST> wonders what the host offers for the information. There’s no free lunch in the world. ]

’Yeah yeah, fuck your free lunch. Tell me what you want.’

Most of his LP was already expended when he used them to upgrade the seed leech skill. That substantial cost had wiped his balance clean.

As for the quests, he was close to getting the third voluntary thrall he needed for the main quest, but he still had yet to find a tier 4 or higher zombie to farm some zombie cores.

He had zero idea about what Lust could even ask from him right now, given that his pockets were basically empty.

[ <LUST> pouts. It feels bored. Can host entertain lust? ]

’Sure, I will be fucking Andrea tonight and make her my third voluntary thrall. You will be entertained by that.’ Fredrinn offered directly.

He was already planning on doing it anyway. Andrea had already laid claim to him on the bus, and securing her as his third voluntary thrall was on his immediate agenda.

Using something he was already going to do seemed like an easy way to satisfy the entity without giving up anything extra.

[ <LUST> yawns. Not enough. ]

’Then more do you even wan–’

[ <LUST> completes the sentence... Not enough partners. It wants to see an orgy and show host the pleasure of multiple partners at once. ]

’Are you serious...’ Fredrinn’s eyelids twitched at the Lust’s message as he watched Max stare at the weird dude across from him.

An orgy? Right here in an uninspected, broken-down hotel in the middle of a zombie apocalypse?

While Fredrinn was mentally dealing with the perverse system in his head, the situation at the front counter had entered an entirely surreal rhythm.

Max wasn’t as dumb as Ash or as confused as Jenny to not realize that something was off. The man was sharp despite his grief, quickly catching on to the unnatural behavior of the clerk.

He was making sure to delay his answers to the creepy dude.

Even when he might sound a little retarded while doing so... Such as...

"Bring me your finest wine." Max said calmly.

Billy blinked, his professional smile remaining perfectly intact behind the gleaming marble counter.

"Sir, this is a cafe... Bar is at the 8th floor. Kindly head there for your request."

Max stroked his jaw, leaning forward slightly as if thinking over a monumental tactical decision. He let the silence hang for a full five seconds before asking in an entirely flat tone.

"What’s a cafe?"

Ash, standing behind Max, stared at the back of the older man’s head with wide, bewildered eyes, clearly wondering if the grief from earlier had caused Max’s brain to completely break down.

Jenny kept her arms folded, her amber eyes darting between the cashier and Max, trying to read the strange dynamic.

Billy, however, showed no signs of mocking him.

"It’s a small restaurant that serves easy to cook meals and coffee and hot beverages, sir."

Max scratched his beard, his brow furrowed in mock contemplation. He deliberately took another long, torturous pause, allowing the hum of the overhead cafeteria lights to fill the room.

"Hot beverages? Bring me hot sake then."

"Sir it is on the 8th floor..."

"I see. I might be confused... What’s coffee?" He asked while glancing at the menu casually.

In normal settings, anyone would’ve thrown him out of the establishment or at lost their temper over his dumb irritating questions, but Billy didn’t.

He only got mildly irritated when Max took way too long to answer, his eyebrows twitching just a fraction when the pauses stretched out, but except from that, it was clear that he was more than happy to answer any sort of retarded doubts he had.

Which was even more weird as no normal human would bother to do so. No retail worker surviving a global apocalypse would stand under a glowing sign in an overrun hotel patiently giving a dictionary definition of coffee to an armed giant with an Uzi strapped across his chest.

Seeing that Max was doing a great job at keeping the weirdo occupied, Fredrinn glanced at Rose and shrugged inwardly.

She appeared to be in a thought of her own, and it seemed just like the past where she told him that she couldn’t tell him everything.

It was sad but it is what it is.

Fredrinn turned his attention back inward, ready to seal the deal with the shameless system.

’Alright then, I will have a threesome, happy?’ He might say like he was getting forced to do that and wasn’t really interested, but only he knew how he was suppressing his excitement over it.

After all, if there was a common fantasy of MOST men, it was having a threesome at least once in their life.

Anyone who denies it is either lying or gay... Those are the only two options.

(A/N: Anyone who disagrees with my view? Speak up.)

The idea of tangling together with two women at the same time—perhaps Andrea alongside Jenny or Rose—was a thought that sent a hot spark of anticipation running down his spine.

He put on a reluctant front purely out of habit, hoping to keep some leverage.

Unfortunately, the entity wasn’t so easily fooled.

[ <LUST> adds that host wouldn’t get any LP for doing the threesome because he is ’being forced’ to do so. ]

’Wait no–’ He instantly called out, dropping his indifferent mask in an instant, ’I am not being forced, I am very eager. Give me the LP.’

[ <LUST> shakes its head in disappointment. ’Man can you not be so fickle?’ it quotes. Regardless, it is pained to inform host that LP still wouldn’t be given.

Consider it as a payment to answer host’s queries. ]

’Tsk, fuck you then.’ Fredrinn grumbled, not regretting that he shamelessly changed his mind.

It was worth a shot. In an apocalypse, leaving points or resources on the table without trying to negotiate was a rookie mistake.

’Since we are done with the deal, tell me what in the world is wrong with this guy? I refuse to believe that this dude is a human. It’s simply impossible!!! How could someone be so dumb?!’ Fredrinn asked quickly, his gaze focused on Billy.

He stared at the pale-skinned clerk standing behind the counter, dressed in his neat green uniform and apron, still patiently waiting for Max to decide whether he wanted to order coffee or not.

The lack of fear, the bizarre adherence to corporate protocol, the total detachment from the ruins outside—everything screamed unnatural.

A soft chime sounded in his mind as the interface flashed with the promised answer.

[ <LUST> chuckles... That person is indeed a human though. ]
