My Seed Gives Systems In The Apocalypse
Chapter 144: Absolutely Shameless
Once Sophia and Carmen had vanished up the shadowy staircase, Jenny let out a quiet breath, turning her complete and undivided attention toward Fredrinn.
"Everyone decided to stay on the second floor," she said, her voice dropping to a calm, steady rhythm. "They’re currently dividing themselves into small groups and sharing rooms."
"Everyone?" Fredrinn raised a brow, surprised by how smoothly the logistics had unfolded without his direct supervision.
"Yeah. The rooms down there are pretty spacious, easily big enough for three or four people to share without stepping on each other’s toes," Jenny replied with a careless shrug, crossing her arms over her chest. "Besides, it’s a lot better for their mental state right now. Grouping up makes them feel safer than sleeping alone in an unfamiliar place, you know? Strength in numbers."
Fredrinn nodded thoughtfully, understanding the psychology of ordinary survivors after living through an apocalypse. "What about Andrea, Naomi, Rhea, and Vivienne?"
At the mention of those names, Jenny’s lips tightened. She clicked her tongue in subtle annoyance, the corner of her jaw clenching.
She really didn’t want to stand here discussing other women with him—especially not Andrea.
Still, Jenny wasn’t about to lie or play petty games with him.
Keeping her voice measured, she answered, "Andrea is still waiting downstairs in the lobby for you to head down or call her up. The rest—Vivienne, Rhea, and Naomi—decided to take one of the larger rooms together with a few of Vivienne’s female students."
Before Fredrinn could question why Andrea had been left behind to wait alone, Jenny quickly added, "I told her to stay put down there just in case we ran into trouble clearing this floor. We heard some loud fighting sounds echoing down the stairwell earlier, so I figured it didn’t hurt to be cautious."
For all her personal jealousy, Jenny wasn’t cruel.
She might have resented Andrea’s closeness to Fredrinn, but she had no desire to harm her.
"I see..." Fredrinn murmured, glancing back down the corridor toward Charlie, Selene, and the grisly carpet of shredded meat.
The floor was quiet now, but the issue of the captive undead remained. Fredrinn looked at the demonic beauty still nestled comfortably against his side.
"Rose, do you think Charlie and Selene can hold these bastards down for the entire night? I think it’s smarter to deal with them in the morning, once the nocturnal buff wears off and you can control them without any strain."
Rose let out a lazy, delicate yawn against his chest. Instead of offering a verbal answer, she simply lifted one pale hand and gave a casual, dismissive flick of her wrist.
The moment the gesture was made, Selene moved like an uncoiling viper.
The zombified schoolgirl dashed forward, her broken blade flashing under the led light.
With mechanical, chilling precision, she cleaved through joints and sinew without the slightest hesitation.
Schlick! Crack!
Neither of the three pinned zombies were spared. In less than three seconds, six severed limbs hit the floorboards with wet, heavy thuds, splashing dark, viscous gore across the hallway and turning an already revolting scene into a pure slaughterhouse.
The mutilated zombies hissed and gnashed their teeth, thrashing their bloody torsos in futile fury, completely stripped of their mobility.
"They can regenerate their limbs tomorrow when we feed them the carcasses," Rose explained sweetly, her chin resting on Fredrinn’s collarbone as she lazily kicked open the door to a nearby guest room. "Until then, they’re completely useless. They can’t regrow flesh without ample nutrition and ambient energy to fuel the process."
Charlie rose from the floor, his massive spine popping with a series of loud, hollow cracks after maintaining his heavy pin for so long.
Without a single word, the undead brute leaned down, gathered the three limbless torsos into his thick arms, and carried them into the opened room.
Displaying a surprising amount of tactical sense, Charlie casually hurled the writhing monsters into completely separate corners—one to the far right, one to the left, and the last against the rear wall near the bathroom.
By keeping them isolated, he eliminated the risk of them cannibalizing one another in the dark to jumpstart their regeneration.
With the cargo delivered, Charlie took up a silent vigil near the foot of the bed, while Selene glided in behind him, pulling the heavy wooden door shut with a decisive click.
"There," Rose beamed, looking up at Fredrinn with a dazzling, innocent smile. "That’s settled, hubby!"
Fredrinn let out an amused chuckle, rubbing her head slightly. "I can always count on you."
He turned around, preparing to head down the stairwell to fetch Andrea himself, but the sight of the third-floor hallway made him pause.
The floral wallpaper was spattered in black slime, severed arms and legs littered the carpet, and the stagnant, rancid stench of opened guts filled the air.
He grimaced slightly, running a hand through his hair. "Damn... I was honestly planning to set a romantic mood tonight, but how the hell is anyone supposed to feel romantic after walking through this kind of mess?"
Rose giggled against his ribs, her crimson eyes gleaming with sultry amusement. "I can feel romantic, hubby~" she purred, her melodic voice dipping into a low, seductive rasp. "And if your other little girl—whatever her name is—has a problem with the blood... Rose can take her place instead~"
To emphasize her wicked promise, Rose slowly traced the tip of her tongue over her plump cherry-red lips, her eyes hooded with unmasked desire.
A jolt of electric heat traveled straight down Fredrinn’s spine, stirring a deep, primal fire within him.
Remembering the threesome he had promised, Fredrinn didn’t hesitate for a second.
"Oh, you’ll definitely be helping your hubby," Fredrinn said with a grin, tightening his grip on Rose’s slender waist. "After all, we’re all staying in the exact same room tonight."
Rose smirked back, radiating supreme confidence.
In her mind, no human woman could ever compete with her in bed.
Standing just a few feet away, Jenny felt the blood instantly rush to her head. Her face burned, turning a brilliant, furious shade of crimson as the implication sank in.
’All of us in one room?!’ Her mind screamed in chaotic disbelief, her heart hammering wildly against her ribs. ’And he’s actually planning to do that... SHAMELESS! ABSOLUTELY SHAMELESS!’
