My Son Is the Result of your Seed

Chapter 25: Explosion Beneath the Alpine Ice

  • Next Chapter

The echo of the real Julian Rington’s voice cracks, shattering the silence of the underground laboratory. The main navigation monitor on the fortress wall suddenly displays a thick red line with a violently blinking digital countdown:

[TACTICAL UNDERGROUND NUCLEAR DETONATION: 00:03:00]

Arthur Rington’s eyes widen broad, the old hands holding the quantum consciousness transfer helmet trembling violently. The old man turns his body to face the Lake Geneva transmission screen, where the figure of Julian, with burn scars stretching across the left side of his face, stares back through the surveillance camera with a smirk of absolute victory.

"Impossible," Arthur whispers raspily, his voice losing all its dictatorial authority. "I buried your helicopter at the bottom of the North Sea thirteen years ago myself!"

"You buried the bodies of my guards, Father," Julian’s laugh sounds cold and shrill through the speakers, bouncing off the fortress’s granite walls. "I climbed out of that helicopter wreck before the explosion hit, letting the world believe that I had perished, while I built a shadow empire beneath the icy waters of Switzerland."

The quantum transfer helmet on Alexander’s head suddenly hums loudly, emitting an electrical short circuit that instantly blows out its connecting cables due to frequency interference from Julian’s transmission.

Alexander staggers forward, his knees landing on the concrete floor. His breath comes in heavy gasps, his eyes radiating a violently churning silver and golden glow.

"Arthur..." Alexander’s voice is raspy, yet it carries a cold authority that makes the fortress guards hold their triggers. "Let those children go."

Arthur turns sharply toward Alexander, his face contorting as he holds back a burning rage. "You think you can dictate terms in this situation, Alexander? If this fortress explodes, we all perish together!"

"Your consciousness transfer technology is not finished, Arthur!" Genevieve snaps from behind her titanium chains, tears soaking her pale cheeks. "If you do not disable the locking codes on Ethan and Stella’s tanks now, the serum inside their bodies will freeze and destroy the DNA template you desire!"

Arthur stares intently at the cryo-stasis tanks. The blackish fluid inside the tanks begins to churn, emitting small air bubbles that signal the biological cell destruction process has begun. Time keeps running out: 00:02:15.

The old man snorts in anger, then presses the emergency button on the manual console beside the tanks.

The tank safety valves open, blasting out cold nitrogen vapor. Ethan and Stella cough softly, the two children’s small eyes opening limply inside the embrace of the glass tubes that are beginning to lose air pressure.

"Daddy..." Stella moans weakly, her voice barely audible.

"Daniel!" Alexander orders without looking back. "Get the children out of here!"

Daniel, who was previously sprawled in the corner of the room from an electric shock, immediately crawls up. With what strength he has left, he charges toward the tanks, smashes the outer safety glass, and pulls out the tiny bodies of Ethan and Stella, holding them close in his embrace.

"I will not let you leave!" Arthur screams while raising an assault rifle from a guard’s hands, aiming the muzzle straight at Daniel’s back.

However, Alexander moves faster than a lightning strike.

Driven by the mutated serum energy surging through his blood vessels, Alexander charges forward, slamming his elbow into Arthur’s chest until the old man flies back, crashing into the main control desk!

The rifle in Arthur’s hands is thrown far away. The old man collapses, clutching his tight chest, coughing up fresh blood that soaks the marble floor.

"You have lost, Arthur," Alexander says coldly, standing tall over his own biological father with sharply glowing silver irises.

Before Arthur can respond, the concrete floor of the laboratory suddenly vibrates violently. The first explosion from the underground detonators installed by Julian tears through the fortress’s outer foundation, triggering a giant avalanche from the peak of the Alps that buries the main entrance!

"Out! Get out of here quick!" Daniel’s shout breaks through the panic as he carries Ethan and Stella toward the emergency evacuation tunnel behind the stone wall.

Genevieve tears at her restraints, taking advantage of the chaos to break free. She runs to Alexander, grabbing his arm. "Alex, we have to go! The entire structure of this fortress will collapse to the bottom of the lake!"

Alexander turns to Arthur, who lies dying on the floor, then shifts his gaze to the monitor screen displaying Julian’s face at Lake Geneva.

Julian behind the screen laughs hysterically, watching the fortress ruins begin to swallow his father’s headquarters. "Enjoy your watery grave, Rington family!"

The monitor screen suddenly goes completely dark as an electrical short circuit hits the entire central installation.

Alexander pulls Genevieve’s hand, running to catch up with Daniel into the pitch-black underground evacuation tunnel. Behind them, collapsing granite rocks and lake water begin forcing their way in, drowning all the dark secrets of genetic engineering into eternal darkness.

They manage to break through a gap in the glacial rock on the mountainside, emerging right at the brink of a steep cliff where an automated Vanguard network rescue helicopter waits with blades spinning wildly against the snowstorm.

Daniel swiftly places Ethan and Stella into the helicopter’s warm cabin, followed by Genevieve, who sits limply beside her children.

Alexander stands at the cabin doorway, turning one last time toward the peak of the Alps, which now collapses entirely in one massive, high-pressure explosion.

The shockwave from the tactical underground nuclear blast flattens the entire Obsidian-Rington fortress in an instant, leaving behind a thick cloud of white smoke blending into the snowstorm.

Alexander leaps up into the helicopter cabin, pulling the emergency door tightly shut. The helicopter darts sharply, cutting through the night sky, leaving the icy mountains toward an unknown direction.

Inside the dim cabin, Alexander sits leaning against the aluminum wall. He gazes at his own palm, which still emits a faint golden glow—proof that his body’s structure has changed forever.

Genevieve sits across from him, cradling their two fast-asleep children. She stares at Alexander with tear-filled eyes, laden with guilt and a profound silence.

"We survived that fortress, Alex..." Genevieve whispers raspily. "But Julian. Julian is still out there. He holds control over the world’s entire military satellite network."

Alexander does not answer. He closes his eyes tightly, feeling the pulse in his wrist beating in sync with the frequency of the pure serum flowing inside his body.

Suddenly, the small navigation screen inside the helicopter cabin turns on by itself without being touched.

An encrypted data file automatically downloads into the helicopter’s computer system. The screen displays a single new GPS coordinate point blinking in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, accompanied by a short digital-formatted text message:

[POINT ZERO COORDINATES: LAZARUS ISLAND]

[PATH TO THE ERADICATION OF THE REMNANTS OF THE RINGTON & DE LA CROIX DYNASTIES]

[SEE YOU AT THE FINAL ENCOUNTER, LITTLE BROTHER. —JULIAN]
