Chapter 193: Nova’s Growing Legion

  • Next Chapter

Among them, Moonclaw stood out the most. The massive beast looked as dreadful as ever, its violet shimmering eyes fixed calmly on its Monarch.

As Nova’s first Deadborn, Moonclaw held a special place. Nova intended to keep raising it and continue making it stronger.

Its Chaos aura was now far more overwhelming after reaching its current level. It was already close to evolving into an S-rank Demonic Beast.

Behind the elite Deadborns stood a large squad of colossal Abyssal Black Eagles. There were at least seventy to eighty of them, every single one at the peak of the King Realm.

In such a short period of time, Nova had already built an army of this scale.Nova’s gaze then drifted toward the newest member of his Deadborn Legion.

The figure stood nearly 200 centimeters tall and was clearly the most powerful among them.

It was the Level 1 Emperor Realm dragon he had killed earlier that day. After being turned into a Deadborn, its form had become even more imposing.

It now stood in a dragonoid form — a humanoid body with a powerful dragon tail extending from its back. Its skin was covered in swirling black darkness, yet faint outlines of thick, powerful black scales could still be seen beneath the surface.

The moment it sensed Nova’s gaze, the Deadborn bent down respectfully.

"I greet my lord."

Its voice was deep and rough, carrying a weight far heavier than the original dragon’s. Nova was genuinely surprised. He hadn’t known that Deadborns could speak.

{ Hehehe~ }

Liya laughed softly while still sitting on his lap. Both of them watched the army of Deadborns from the bed. Nova turned his head slightly and looked down at her.

"What?"

{ I wanted to surprise you. When an undead reaches a certain level of strength, it gains the ability to speak. However, true necromancers are extremely rare... and raising an undead to such a high level is almost impossible. }

{ That’s why necromancers are usually not considered particularly powerful. Most of them can only command ordinary, low-level soldiers. Your case is different, though. Your Deadborns are unique in many ways because of your Legendary Class. }

{ For them, the required strength to gain speech is the Emperor Realm. Of course... you’ve always been able to understand each other through your link. }

Nova listened carefully and finally understood. He gently picked Liya up and set her aside on the bed. She immediately pouted at the sudden loss of contact.

Standing in front of the dragon Deadborn, Nova spoke calmly.

"I’ll call you Drago."

The dragon bowed once more.

"I thank my Monarch for granting me a name. Drago will follow every command of his Monarch."

The other Deadborns turned their gazes toward Drago, especially Moonclaw. It was clear that some of them also desired the ability to speak like him.

Nova smiled faintly at Drago’s words.

There was no longer any trace of the insolent, psychopathic dragon from before. The existence standing in front of him felt completely new.

Nova then looked toward the large squad of giant Abyssal Black Eagles and another idea suddenly formed in his mind.

He turned to Liya and asked,

"What if I merge all of these peak King Realm Deadborns together? Wouldn’t that give me another Emperor Realm Deadborn?"

"Or if I allow Moonclaw to consume all of them... wouldn’t it also become an Emperor Realm powerhouse?"

Liya listened carefully before answering.

{ The gap between the peak of the King Realm and the Emperor Realm is far greater than you think. Even if Moonclaw consumed all of them, it still wouldn’t be enough for it to reach the Emperor Realm... although— }

"Although?"

{ You can try merging all the Abyssal Black Eagles. That many should give you a very powerful Deadborn... and there is a chance it could reach the Emperor Realm. }

If one had to choose between a large army of weaker soldiers or a single powerful existence capable of dominating the battlefield, the answer was obvious.

Without hesitation, Nova took out the Void Hourglass and activated it. The cooldown of the Fusion skill was immediately disabled.

Now that he could use the skill again, Nova activated Fusion without delay.

Nova’s eyes lit up as the fusion process completed successfully.

All of the giant Abyssal Black Eagle Deadborns had been merged into a single existence — a Level 1 Emperor Realm Deadborn.

Where a large squad had once stood, there was now only one imposing figure.

The newly formed Deadborn was far larger than before, standing at least twenty meters tall. Its appearance had also changed, becoming far more terrifying and oppressive than the original eagles.

"Greetings, my Lord."

The massive creature bowed its head respectfully before Nova.

Nova quickly checked its information and confirmed that its strength was now on the same level as Drago. With this, he now possessed two Level 1 Emperor Realm soldiers within his legion.

Flying upward, Nova landed lightly on the creature’s enormous head and gently patted it.

"I’ll call you Voidwing."

The beast let out a loud, powerful screech filled with joy at receiving a name from its lord. The force of its cry was so intense that the bodies of the other Deadborns trembled slightly upon hearing it.

"I humbly thank my Lord for granting me a name," Voidwing said respectfully.

With that, Nova finished everything he needed to do for the moment. He received another 1 million Evolution Points as a reward for creating a new type of Deadborn using the Fusion Skill.

Nova then checked Drago’s storage ring and found another Emperor Realm sword. He was surprised to discover that it was actually a Level 3 Emperor Realm weapon, so he let Rouve consume it.

There were also a few thousand gold and platinum coins. These bastards were really rich. The rest of the items were useless things Nova had no need for.

Afterward, he spent some time playing with Liya. She needed his attention more than usual right now, as she was still in her developing phase.

There was also the quest he had received from the unknown existence — one that required him to help Liya become a fully independent being.

Nova wasn’t pursuing it just for the reward. What truly mattered was the possibility of giving Liya a complete existence of her own, along with a true soul.

She was already beginning to develop genuine feelings and emotions, and that made the process even more important to him.

Only after she was satisfied did Nova finally leave the system training space and return to the guest room to rest.

He was mentally exhausted.

Throughout the day, he had used far too many high-level skills, and the battle against the dragon had taken a heavy toll on both his body and mind.

Even though he had managed to kill it, the opponent had still been a genuine Level 1 Emperor Realm existence — far above his own level.

He didn’t go to his wives’ rooms. By now, they were most likely already asleep, and he didn’t want to disturb them.

Entering his own room, Nova found it spacious and comfortably prepared. A large, soft bed had already been arranged for him.

He lay down and stared at the ceiling for a moment, quietly organizing the things he still needed to do.

The tournament was approaching quickly. Next week, he would go and register his name along with Rieka and Asia’s.

He still didn’t know how strong the other contestants would be, but he was confident that his wives would perform well. Then another thought crossed his mind.

He still needed to thank Bai Chen. Ever since the last incident, he hadn’t met him again. As Nova lay deep in thought, he suddenly sensed a presence entering his room.
