My SSS-Rank Innate skill: Infinite Adaptation core
Chapter 282: Heading to the Imperial Castle
With that, Bai Chen left the mansion to explore Everhart City and demonstrate his remarkable medical skills to its residents.
Of course, Nova wasn’t about to let him wander around completely unprotected. He secretly sent Hybrid Five to follow Bai Chen, keeping an eye on him and protecting him from any potential trouble.
Three hours passed quickly, and soon Nova, Asia, and Rieka were ready to depart for the Imperial Castle.
Fortunately, Nova was already dressed appropriately for the occasion, so he had no need to change. He wore a luxurious black coat with a refined yet adventurous design.
Its high collar, fitted waist, and elegant silver embroidery gave it a distinguished appearance, while the subtle metallic accents along its edges added a touch of extravagance without making it look overly flashy. Complementing his well-fitted black trousers and polished black boots.
His outfit struck the perfect balance between noble elegance and the bold appearance of an experienced adventurer.
Rather than looking like someone who had dressed solely to impress the nobility, Nova appeared like a powerful young man who could walk straight out of a grand palace and into a dangerous battlefield without needing to change.
Since the ceremony would be broadcast across the entire continent, his appearance was more than suitable for the occasion.
Standing before him were Rieka and Asia, both dressed in beautiful gowns that perfectly complemented their distinct charms.
Rieka wore an elegant purple dress adorned with delicate ornaments that shimmered whenever they caught the light.
The graceful design accentuated her figure, while the rich purple fabric lent her an air of nobility and mystery. Her natural beauty, combined with the elegance of her attire, made her look utterly breathtaking.
Beside her, Asia wore a beautiful blue dress decorated with a few carefully placed silver ornaments.
The cool blue fabric and delicate silver accents complemented one another perfectly, giving her an ethereal elegance reminiscent of a princess from an icy kingdom. Her graceful bearing and refined beauty made her resemble an ice princess who had stepped straight out of a fairy tale.
The two women stood side by side, each possessing a beauty of her own. Rieka’s appearance was elegant and captivating, while Asia’s was cool and enchanting.
Their contrasting colors and temperaments only enhanced their individual charms, making it difficult to decide which of them was more beautiful.
Together, they were a truly mesmerizing sight.
Inside the System Space, Nyxara was growing jealous. She also wanted to dress up beautifully in front of Nova, but despite always looking breathtaking, she wasn’t satisfied. Seeing Asia and Rieka dressed so elegantly had caused her competitive spirit to flare up.
Noticing Nyxara’s expression, Liya tried to comfort her.
{Don’t worry, Sister Nyxara. You can dress up for him anytime you want. It’s not like you need a special occasion for that.}
"You don’t understand..." Nyxara replied, shaking her head. "Doing it without a reason doesn’t feel as natural as it does when there’s a purpose behind it. Although, I can always wear an even more elegant dress if my husband wants me to."
"Princess, from what I can tell, Lord Nova likes seeing you in red and black dresses. He seems to like the gothic vibe you give off," Velena added.
Nyxara immediately turned her head toward her.
"How can you tell that?"
"Sigh... And you were calling me dumb." Velena rolled her eyes before continuing. "Of course, that doesn’t mean his love for you would change if you wore something else. It’s not as though he wouldn’t like you in a different dress."
She paused briefly before explaining further.
"From what I can tell, you first met him wearing the dress you have on right now. Its combination of black and red complements your overall personality perfectly and enhances your charm even more."
Nyxara was surprised to learn this. If that was the case, she would have to get herself more dresses like it.
"If that’s true, then I’ll get thousands of dresses similar to this one!"
Liya rolled her eyes again after hearing Nyxara’s declaration. She really was such a child sometimes.
{"Who cares about dresses? He likes me more when I’m not wearing any clothes,} Liya added smugly.
"Tch! Shameless!" Nyxara clicked her tongue.
Velena sighed and shook her head at the two of them. I need to make my move soon so that Lord Nova will notice me, too... she thought.
However, she still hadn’t found the right opportunity.
Meanwhile, outside the System Space, Nova couldn’t hear their conversation. Liya only allowed their voices to reach him when they had something important to say, as she knew he would get annoyed if they kept chattering in his mind.
Nova was already standing outside the mansion with Rieka and Asia, waiting beside a luxurious carriage. Fred would serve as their coachman and escort them to the Imperial Castle.
They were currently in a special district reserved for VIPs, where distinguished individuals and important guests resided during their stay in the Imperial Capital.
The district was relatively close to the Imperial Castle, and its roads were far less crowded than those in the rest of the city.
As a result, they would be able to travel swiftly without having to worry about crowds gathering around them along the way.
As Nova and his wives sat inside the carriage, Fred guided it toward the Imperial Castle at a steady pace.
From a purely practical perspective, taking a carriage seemed unnecessary. After all, if someone could fly, why bother traveling by carriage at all?
However, when summoned to a royal or imperial castle, following proper customs and etiquette was generally considered appropriate. Of course, these traditions weren’t strictly enforced, but observing them was still a sign of respect.
If Nova had been alone, he wouldn’t have cared about such formalities. However, his family had only recently become nobles, and he didn’t want others to ridicule them for appearing ignorant of noble customs.
Besides, taking a carriage for a short distance wouldn’t cost him anything. It wasn’t as though he would lose anything by doing so. So, why not?
As the carriage moved toward the Imperial Castle, Nova continued chatting with his wives, both those accompanying him outside the System Space and those inside it.
Naturally, he spoke with Rieka and Asia, who were sitting beside him. He also conversed with Nyxara and Liya inside the System Space, while Velena occasionally joined their discussions.
Although Velena wasn’t officially his wife yet, Nova treated her much the same as the others, with the exception of matters involving intimacy.
As they drew closer to the Imperial Castle, Nova opened a small, square-shaped window in the carriage and looked toward Fred, who was driving it.
"Are all the Racial Emperors already here?" he asked.
"No, Lord Nova. The meeting will take place tonight, followed by a banquet. I was planning to inform you about it later, as all of you have been invited as well," Fred replied.
"So, they haven’t arrived yet?" Nova asked.
"That would be difficult to say. Some of them might already be here, but their arrival hasn’t been officially announced yet," Fred explained.
"Hmm. And what about the other two winners?" Nova asked.
"Yes, Princess Celine arrived yesterday and has already been escorted to the Imperial Castle. Lord Liam is there as well," Fred replied.
Apart from Nova, Asia, and Rieka, Celine Varkhess and Liam Everhart were the other two winners of the Empire’s Grand Youth Tournament. They were also among the junior candidates who would be entering the Secret Realm in ten days.
