Chapter 2077 - 2173: Heaven’s Blessing

Chapter 2077: Chapter 2173: Heaven’s Blessing

The Boss, that fool, is investigating this matter too. I can ask her about it!

"Hmm, actually if you want to make a comparison, I feel Kim Jun-hyun is more like an envoy from the old society, or perhaps he is just a front. You sent him to the police today; I’m worried something big might happen!"

Feeling worried, he spoke to Su Xuan. Kim Jun-hyun is now a very awkward figure in Chengdu; everyone wants to act against him, but nobody can!

"Haha, I really don’t believe this nonsense. Don’t worry about it!"

Su Xuan smiled faintly. Not to mention that guy’s leg which is connected to an important matter; even without that leg, Su Xuan wouldn’t fear such a fool!

According to Ming Yue, the Boss knows more about this matter, so after leaving the law firm, Su Xuan drove to the city government. It’s been a while since he last saw the Boss, and Su Xuan didn’t know how she’s doing now.

When Su Xuan arrived at the city government, he called the Boss, who quickly came downstairs to meet him, seeming very excited upon seeing Su Xuan!

"Oh my, I was just thinking about you, and unexpectedly you came. Seems like the heavens are watching over me!"

"Come on, what are you saying?"

Su Xuan felt a bit awkward, as he didn’t understand what she was talking about!

"Your phone couldn’t be reached and I couldn’t contact you on WeChat. I’ve been worried sick all this time, but now it’s better!"

Apparently, the Boss had been looking for Su Xuan these days!

"Haha... I say, Boss, you wouldn’t be trying to get me to introduce you to a wife, would you? By the way, didn’t you say you were going to be transferred to Monkey’s hometown to be mayor? How come you didn’t move later?"

Su Xuan was curious too. During Monkey’s wedding, the transfer order had been issued, but afterwards, it somehow didn’t happen!

"Originally, I was indeed preparing to transfer over there, but just before the move, our local mayor encountered an incident, and afterwards the higher-ups decided to let me stay here to take over all the mayor’s responsibilities, given my familiarity with this environment and my status as a local."

Speaking seriously to Su Xuan, he explained!

"I see, the mayor encountered an incident? What happened?"

Su Xuan was shocked; he had met and interacted with the former mayor!

"Cough cough... It might have been murder!"

Lowering his voice, the Boss spoke, leaving Su Xuan shocked. This was quite a big matter! 𝖋𝙧ⅇ

"Was the murderer caught?"

Su Xuan felt that Chengdu might be facing that old situation again; someone seemed to want to stir up trouble here!

"No, actually the official verdict was sudden death, caused by overworking. But it shouldn’t be sudden death. Since I took over as mayor, the higher-ups have given me a secret mission to investigate this incident; it might be linked to an even bigger matter!"

Lightly rubbing his nose, Su Xuan spoke softly!

"Why didn’t you tell me about this before?"

Even though Su Xuan isn’t technically a government member now, he’s still a Huaxia man with strong patriotic feelings!

"Of course I contacted you! Right after I returned to Chengdu, after that incident, I contacted you, but then you disappeared!"

The Boss said dejectedly, feeling helpless about Su Xuan’s unpredictability!

"Okay!"

Su Xuan felt a bit awkward; he realized he was probably at Cloud Sky Peak during that time, losing connection with the outside world for about a month, so it must have been around then!

"Is there any progress now?"

Su Xuan whispered as he asked, noticing the Boss seemed to have something to discuss with him!

"After a long period of secret investigation, we finally have a lead. We’ve found out that the former mayor was tracking a case before his death—a case involving an organ trafficking organization!"

"An organ trafficking organization?"

Su Xuan’s heart skipped a beat; he wondered if this matter was related to the organ trafficking organization he encountered in Miaojiang, which had many experts and mercenaries!

However, after that incident, there was no more news!

"Wait, is it codenamed Empress?"

Su Xuan asked hurriedly! Back then, the Empress from Phantom Sound Pavilion had told him she was also a secret agent, investigating the evil organ trafficking organization called New World!

If it weren’t for him, the Empress might have already faced disaster. She didn’t tell him much about this matter back then. Now he wonders if the Empress’ superior was the former director!

"You... you knew about this?"

Looking at Su Xuan, the Boss felt surprised; she didn’t expect Su Xuan to know about this matter!

"Empress is my junior sister? Back then, when I was in Miaojiang with Mengxue seeking treatment, I actually encountered the leader of that organ trafficking organization. They were a group of experts!"

Su Xuan explained seriously, thinking that those experts were truly exceptional, with advanced equipment and tough mercenaries!

"Your junior sister? No way, such a coincidence!"

Staring at Su Xuan, she felt really surprised!

"Yes, her name is Xia Chan. What discoveries have you made?"

Su Xuan had lost contact with his junior sister, Xia Chan, for over two years. Xia Chan had left him her contact information, but after entering the Great Desert, he lost touch with her!

"Xia Chan? Su Xuan, let me be honest with you. According to our investigation, your junior sister, codenamed Empress, might have encountered an incident. This case is highly confidential due to the powerful adversary, so we’re secretly investigating it to avoid alarming them. Based on our findings, it seems the Empress had relayed some crucial information before the former mayor was silenced."

Su Xuan felt staggered; Xia Chan had gotten into trouble. How could this be? That childhood sister of his, Zhi Liao, was in danger. Was their separation truly a farewell?

"Is there any news about her?"

"According to our long-term investigation and tracking, we’ve concluded that the Empress might have another identity as a member of New World!"
