Chapter 1085 - 1088: Thoroughly Understand

Melody Thorne was somewhat absent-minded along the way, she couldn’t fathom who would target the Thornes for kidnapping, or what their objectives were.

"Jared Quinn, let’s head back to the Thorne Family’s place."

"Alright."

At the Thorne residence entrance, Melody Thorne turned on the lights and looked repeatedly at the place where Finn Thorne had been beaten. When Finn was young and got into danger or a fight, he feared they couldn’t find him, so he would always leave marks on the ground or somewhere to make it easier for them to find him.

"Why is there nothing?" Melody Thorne scanned the surroundings.

"What are you looking for?"

"I’m looking for markings Finn Thorne might have left behind. That guy is always clever, he should have left something to help us find him."

"I’ll help you." Jared Quinn began searching from where Finn Thorne entered the Thorne Family’s place, to where Finn was knocked down, and finally was thrown onto the sofa.

"Here, there’s blood." Jared Quinn moved a pillow off the sofa, the only place with markings, though it was Finn Thorne’s blood.

"Finn definitely left it on purpose, but what is this?" Melody Thorne looked up; it resembled an X — it must be a mark, but what does an X mean?

Jared Quinn squinted at the mark, whispering, "Knight Palace Gate, a gang."

"It seems like it’s Knight Palace Gate’s sign. Have Jenson keep an eye on the activities there to see if they have captured anyone recently."

"Okay, I’ll call them now."

Upon hearing the news, Jenson and Ona immediately set out to investigate.

"Melody."

Selina Sloan and Elias Hale hurried over.

"What’s happening? Uncle Thorne is missing?"

"He must have been kidnapped; Harold Chapman’s people are still investigating."

"Knight Palace Gate?" Elias Hale also noticed the symbol on the pillow.

"At present, they’re the only suspects we’re focusing on, still waiting for confirmation," Jared Quinn spoke,

and the blood mark was somewhat unclear, whether to wait for news from Jenson and Ona.

"Both of you are confident it’s them; you recognized the mark instantly—there can’t be a mistake—I’ll go find Ona to ask if they can take me inside for a look."

"Hold on, that’s not a suitable place for women." Elias Hale stopped her.

"Why?"

"At the border between Country A and Country C, there are two gangs: one is Knight Palace Gate, the other is The Cerulean Sect. Knight Palace Gate is full of men, and their biggest hate is women, while The Cerulean Sect is all women, and they deeply hate men. These two gangs: one forbids men from entering, seeing them means killing them; one forbids women, seeing them means killing them."

"Seems like Mr. Hale has a thorough understanding of the underworld affairs."

"Not exactly thorough, but since we do business, we inevitably want to avoid entanglement with the underworld—having more understanding doesn’t hurt."

"Then how do I get in?" Melody Thorne asked anxiously.

"Wait for news from Jenson, as soon as they update, I’ll go have a look." Jared Quinn reassured her.

"I’ll go with you; I’ve been quite curious about Knight Palace Gate, but never been inside."

"Do as you please. I’ll first take her home to rest."

Jared Quinn drove Melody Thorne’s car away.

"Let’s go, I’ll give you a ride," Elias Hale offered.

"No need, I drove myself," Selina Sloan declined, as though she were rejecting any further ties with Elias Hale.

"Selina, is this the only way for us?"
