My Superpower Is Piloting Magical Girl Corpses?

Chapter 333 A Forbidden Name and... a Brain-Computer Interface?!

No matter what she sent, Vivi simply kept calmly copy-pasting the same message.

It didn’t matter if she typed slowly, as long as she dealt true damage.

Katsumi was one of the top students in the class, a girl who could be said to be on the same level as Xiyuji. Her magic power was already at level nine, and she used a level-nine weapon too.

Usually, when Katsumi bullied her in private messages, Vivi’s curses were always as ineffectual as a childish pout.

But things were different now.

Lies never hurt anyone. The truth was a razor-sharp blade~

This felt so good.

Only when she saw that the tips of the other girl’s pointed ears had turned red, and that she’d finally stopped replying, did the white-haired girl come back to herself, satisfied. Her slender black tail swayed back and forth behind her.

By then, all the other students in the classroom had deftly pulled data cables from beneath their seats, plugged them into their brain-computer interfaces, and closed their eyes.

Vivi wasn’t in a hurry. She couldn’t log in without an interface anyway, so she simply closed her eyes and started chatting with Lin Guang in her mind.

“They’ve gone to the Green Room.”

Vivi explained in her thoughts, “You saw it online yesterday, right?”

Lin Guang knew what she meant.

By transmitting magic-power signals through a brain-computer interface and using certain specialized equipment, it was possible to simulate the senses of touch, smell, and taste almost perfectly.

And the Green Room... was more or less a forest.

It was the kind of place the poor people of Neon City could go their entire lives without seeing, something found only on the wealthy’s floating islands or in their ecological parks.

In an environment like that, people could relax both body and mind to the greatest extent. It was easier to enter a deep meditative state, and the increase in magic power was far more efficient than simply sitting still.

Lin Guang didn’t respond. Instead, he asked softly, “Does your school have a library or a records room?”

“A library? I knew you used to be some big shot magical girl or something... Public schools don’t have things like that.”

“All the records here are stored electronically. Once your student credentials are verified, you can log into the school’s internal records room from anywhere on campus.”

“Good,” Lin Guang said. “Lend me your glasses and account.”

“Go ahead.”

Vivi agreed without a care.

She tapped the frame of her glasses, bringing up the login screen. After successfully verifying her iris and fingerprint, she entered the school’s internal database.

“What do you want to look up? I can search for you.”

Vivi asked casually.

“A detailed list of every magical girl in Neon City’s history.”

Lin Guang said calmly, “I searched the public network last night, but most of the information was incomplete or whitewashed, so it might not be accurate.”

“Since this is a magical girl school, the database should have more detailed records.”

Vivi suddenly understood.

“You’re looking to see if your own name is on there, aren’t you?”

“Yeah.”

A page quickly appeared, displaying name after name.

“Scroll down as fast as you can.”

“Oh.”

At her direction, the list on her glasses’ lenses began racing by.

The school’s internal database really was comprehensive. Its records went back more than a hundred years, to the time when Neon City was first founded and its first magical girls appeared.

Hundreds, even thousands, of names, along with photographs and biographies, streamed across the lenses like a waterfall.

In just a dozen seconds, the progress bar reached the very bottom.

“Did you find it?”

Vivi’s eyes were swimming. She hadn’t been able to make out anyone’s name.

But she knew Lin Guang could see through her eyes.

“No.”

“Oh... By the way, why are you making this so complicated?”

Vivi couldn’t help complaining. “Why not just type your name in?”

As she spoke, the white-haired girl instinctively focused her gaze, intending to open the search box on the lenses and type in the name Teresa.

But the next moment,

a rather stern voice suddenly sounded in her mind.

“Stop.”

Vivi’s finger froze in midair. Somewhat annoyed, she muttered, “What’s with you? You scared me.”

“Don’t mention my name on any network, in any search engine, or even to anyone.”

Lin Guang’s voice was faint. “Haven’t you realized something?”

“I was probably a magical girl in the past.”

“But if my name can’t be found in this school’s internal database, or even on this most comprehensive list of magical girls throughout history... then perhaps searching for it is a trap that was set long ago.”

“...?”

The white-haired girl froze.

That gentle, calm voice rang out again. “I must have done something in the past.”

“Something, whether good or bad.”

“Otherwise, no one would have gone to such lengths to erase all traces of my existence.”

This sort of thing had been recorded in countless works.

As a high-end player, she had no interest in walking straight into a trap like this.

Vivi mulled over what he’d said.

Suddenly, she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up.

The name Teresa... might be connected to some kind of secret?

And one so forbidden that it couldn’t be allowed to exist in the world, couldn’t be made public, and had to be erased entirely.

Could simply searching for it bring disaster?

What... level of secret was this?

“Oh... Ohhh.”

Vivi nodded, still a little dazed.

It took her quite a while to process it, her mind filling with countless thoughts.

Then...

she suddenly froze again.

“I have a question.”

“?”

“Teresa, you were the one who used my glasses to go online last night, right?”

“Yeah.”

“But you don’t have eyes, so you can’t see anything. You’d need to share my vision.”

“Yeah.”

“........”

Vivi suddenly opened her mouth, realizing something, and looked around at her classmates, who had entered the Green Room.

“Y-y-y-you!”

“?”

“You have a brain-computer interface?!”

“And it’s the wireless kind that doesn’t need a cable plugged in?!”

Lin Guang said calmly, “If you have a wired interface, I have one of those too.”

At his words, the white-haired girl immediately opened her backpack and started rummaging through the sphere like a thief.

Then...

beneath the orange-yellow gemstone, she spotted an inconspicuous little data port.

“Oh my god, why didn’t you say so earlier!”

“I thought you knew.”

“Uh...”

Vivi was at a loss for words.

She really had been stupid. She should have thought of it sooner... Teresa had no eyes, and without something like this, she couldn’t use those glasses.

But then she thought of something else, and her whole body trembled. She murmured, “You can share my five senses, change the information my senses receive, and even alter my magic-power signals...”

As she spoke, her orange-yellow eyes grew brighter and brighter, but her expression was still a little timid.

It was as if she were suppressing an indescribable hope, yet afraid of receiving a disappointing answer.

“Then...”

“Teresa, can you be my brain-computer interface?”
