Chapter 391 - 389: Liuyu Continent
Chapter 391: Chapter 389: Liuyu Continent
He wouldn’t have known had he not checked.
The discovery was a shock.
The Round Disc Mechanical Race fell silent.
It stood guard beside Su Qing.
It didn’t say another word.
The Mechanical Race’s logic dictated that the powerful must not be offended.
It also dictated that it shouldn’t cause the other party even the slightest bit of trouble.
Most of the beings on the Flying Ship could not withstand the wrath of a powerful expert.
After a little over ten days of warp travel,
Su Qing felt the ship come to a stop.
"Your Excellency, we have arrived at the Liuyu Continent."
"After you disembark, please do not display your Taichu Seal. It will help you avoid trouble," the Round Disc Mechanical Race said from the side.
Su Qing was reading and paid it no mind.
Several hours later, after Su Qing had committed the book’s knowledge to memory,
he asked, "Mechanical, how long will the Flying Ship remain on the Liuyu Continent before departing?"
"Sir, for one Taichu Year."
"It’s a relatively short stop, as we have another destination after this."
"One year?" Su Qing pondered for a moment.
He stood up.
’One year, then.’
Su Qing needed to go out and explore the Liuyu Continent.
And he could buy some seeds while he was at it.
"Take me outside. I want to set foot on the Liuyu Continent and see it for myself."
Su Qing had just finished reading an introduction to the Liuyu Continent and its classification of species.
’How to describe it? It’s an incredibly extreme continent.’
From the outside, it looked like an elliptical star, but the inside was a completely flat continent. It had no sun or moon.
On their continent, there was something called the "Huo."
It provided a certain kind of power,
which was the source of the Liuyu Continent’s true transformation.
The people there...
Or rather, there were no people.
They were all Jade.
Living beings resided on both sides of the flat continent.
But the areas with the "Huo" were generally home to White Jade.
The side without the "Huo" was entirely black jade.
These jades received the "Huo’s" baptism.
And slowly, they grew.
Then, under the influence of the Taichu Daoist Palace, most of the jade transformed into Jade People.
Actual people made of jade.
Su Qing didn’t particularly care what these jades were like.
However, the Liuyu Continent was home to many plants he had never seen before, which was why he wanted to go searching.
...
"Yes, Your Excellency."
"Please follow me."
The Round Disc Mechanical Race led Su Qing away.
Many eyes followed Su Qing wherever he went.
Su Qing paid their gazes no mind.
"Your Excellency, please allow me to accompany you down to the Liuyu Continent."
"It will save you a great deal of trouble."
Su Qing had no intention of refusing. He nodded. "No problem. Stick with me."
"Yes, Your Excellency."
They reached the exit of the Flying Ship.
There was no one else around.
But Su Qing could perceive numerous presences.
They all shared the same physical location and environment, but each individual was in a separate pocket of space.
It was as if a single area had been partitioned into countless separate spaces.
Su Qing could clearly sense someone using this spatial separation to approach him.
The power of their soul had already pierced through the spatial barrier, attempting to search him for something.
’The Round Disc Mechanical Race didn’t notice a thing? Its limitations are pathetic.’
It was a thief who used the Space Dao Path—not someone who stole Dao Paths themselves.
His power wasn’t great, but he was still stronger than the Round Disc Mechanical Race.
Su Qing suddenly reached out, shattering the spatial distance between them.
He grabbed the figure’s shoulder and, before they could even react, yanked them out into his own pocket of space.
The figure began to panic.
"Mechanical, this person was just trying to steal something. Deal with them," Su Qing said, his face devoid of expression. He couldn’t be bothered to kill someone on another’s turf.
"You think some being who hasn’t even entered a Dao Path can deal with me?" The figure transformed into a golden-haired mouse, and with a kick of its legs,
it shot through space.
The Round Disc Mechanical Race was stunned. "Your Excellency, I need to notify Lord Sodero. Please wait."
Su Qing sighed. ’This disc is of limited help.’
He reached out again, his hands tearing through space to once more snatch the fleeing golden-haired mouse.
"Spare me, spare me! I’ll never steal again!"
The mouse immediately begged for mercy. It was thicker than a man’s thigh and could only be described as grotesquely plump.
Su Qing completely ignored its pleas for mercy.
A tiny wisp of Star Power manifested from him.
He wanted to test something.
Peering into its soul, Su Qing found the mouse’s spatial brand.
He wiped his Star Power over it.
The brand corroded, as if eaten away by acid.
It vanished from the depths of the mouse’s soul.
’Just as I thought.’
’The power of one Dao Path can extinguish the power of another.’
’The knowledge from the Jianmu is useful after all.’
"What are you doing!?"
"You might as well just kill me!"
"You’re making my power vanish!"
The mouse seemed to deflate, and by the end, it couldn’t even form a complete sentence.
Su Qing finished erasing the creature’s brand.
’Indeed, power gained from a brand is unreliable.’
’Ultimately, one’s own innate strength is what matters.’
’With the exception of power from certain special Dao Paths, of course.’
Having witnessed this, Su Qing came to a realization.
One Dao Path could erase another. It wasn’t as dependable as his own Dual Cultivation of Life and Spirit.
’Those powerful experts who follow Dao Paths must be aware of this weakness. They surely have a way to resolve this issue in the long run.’
’That’s how they’d prevent their brands from being destroyed when corroded by another Dao Path’s power,’
’which would cause them to lose all their strength.’
But that wouldn’t happen to Su Qing.
’This fellow’s development of his Space Dao Path was quite impressive.’
’But his soul was far too weak.’
Su Qing could shatter its soul with a flick of his finger.
He tossed the golden-haired mouse onto the floor.
The heavy mouse hit the ground with a dull THUD.
"Disc, take care of this. I’ve erased its Dao Path."
The Mechanical disc was stunned.
"Yes, Your Excellency. Lord Sodero will be here shortly."
"It will take just ten seconds."
「Ten seconds later.」
A humanoid Mechanical Race member appeared before Su Qing and said to the disc, "Where did that creature go?"
"Lord Sodero, it’s on the ground."
"A Bounty Rat? But it has no Dao Path power."
"Tuya, do you know the penalty for a false report?"
"I’m the one who erased its Dao Path Power. Just take care of it," Su Qing interjected.
Sodero’s scanner ran a continuous search until it finally pulled up Su Qing’s file.
His attitude shifted in an instant.
The "Extremely Dangerous" classification in his knowledge base gave him the ability to properly assess the situation.
"My deepest apologies, Sir. I was not aware of your identity. I will handle this mouse immediately."
"Mm." Su Qing hadn’t expected him to be so accommodating.
After a nod, he turned to the disc-shaped mechanical beside him. "Tuya, lead the way out."
"Yes, Your Excellency."
...
「Liuyu Continent」
The moment Su Qing stepped out,
he found himself on solid ground.
The gravity here was quite high; it felt like an extra twenty-five pounds of weight pressing down on him.
A purple, glowing object hung in the sky, perpetually illuminating the land.
The sight was truly fantastical.
Under the violet light, Su Qing found it a significant challenge to see clearly.
"Take me to the exchanges here."
"The ones belonging to the Jade People Race, the Jade Race, and the Mixed Jade People."
The ground here...
It was almost entirely made of Jade.
Under the violet radiance, Su Qing had to look very closely to discern the true colors of the jade landscape.
Purple was most abundant, followed by green, and then white.
Other colors existed, but they were rare.
Su Qing picked up a stone to examine it.
It was solid Jade.
"Of course, Your Excellency. I have located the largest trading posts of four major factions."
"Each is located in the largest city of its respective people."
"Give me the coordinates. Walking is too slow," Su Qing said to it.
"Understood."
The disc then displayed the specific locations on the continent for Su Qing.
After memorizing the four locations,
Su Qing grabbed the disc.
And in an instant, he arrived at one of them.
"Ah!"
"Someone from the Flying Ship just appeared!"
They were surrounded by jade-like humanoids.
This was the domain of the White Jade People.
Almost everything was made of jade, similar in both its overall form and its intricate details.
It was a bizarre, indescribable phenomenon—plants made of jade,
and bodies that seemed carved from jade.
The bodies of the White Jade People, however, were opaque.
The sudden appearance of Su Qing and the disc had startled some of them.
"Everyone, I’ve only come to trade. I mean no harm."
He said this because he saw many of the White Jade People grabbing their belongings without a word and leaving,
or otherwise fleeing the area in a hurry.
Su Qing had no choice but to try and placate them first.
