My System Forces Me to Live off Women

Chapter 829: Chapter 433: Ten Years Later (Part 4)
Li Yilan wasn’t at all embarrassed after being exposed; instead, she was righteous and articulate, saying, “What’s lazy? If it weren’t for my proper guidance, would you, a young master whose fingers don’t touch spring water, know how to do housework? Without me, would those two sweeping robots function? Their achievements should be counted as mine.”
“And I wasn’t idle myself. I just braved the cold wind and cleared the snow on the terrace with my hands!”
Huang Zhiyi glanced at the terrace through the window. Hmm, a brand new little snowman was piled in the shadow, which made him scrunch his eyebrows and laugh out loud: “Clear the snow? Aunt, you really know how to clear! And cleared so beautifully!”
Li Yilan lifted her head with pride, “Beautiful, right? You can pile one too; it’s just that there’s not much snow… Don’t change the subject, I ask you, have you done the cleaning downstairs well?!”
Huang Zhiyi shrugged: “There’s no need to sweep; the coffee table is pretty clean, just a wipe will do… But where should I place the folded dust covers of the furniture? Do they need washing?”
“No need to wash, you bring them up and put them in that cabinet… Wait, give me the cloth, you get another one yourself.”
“Okay.”
Li Yilan hadn’t expected Huang Zhiyi to work quite swiftly, and after directing him to organize the dust covers, the two started cleaning upstairs together. At this point, the little girl wasn’t sleepy anymore, and her thoughts aligned with Huang Zhiyi’s—hurry up and tidy up, and then call brother (dad)!
Among them, Huang Zhiyi worked especially hard because he was taller, leaving the windowsill to Li Yilan, while he voluntarily took charge of cleaning the bookshelf area.
But soon, he was drawn to something inside the bookshelf.
The bookshelf was filled with books mostly standing upright, displaying their spines. Yet, in the central highest grid of the bookshelf, there were two “books” whose size and thickness were three to four times larger than the others. These two books were placed differently, with their covers facing up, revealing a dark red leather surface, which felt special, smooth, and vintage, seemingly of some kind of animal leather. The corners of the books bore intricate patterns, looking beautiful and mysterious, like legendary Magic Books. These two books looked down on the books in the grids below, as if receiving homage.
“Hey, just wipe the glass of the bookshelf, no need to open and wipe inside!”
“Aunt, what kind of books are these? Why don’t they have names?”
Curious, Huang Zhiyi picked up a ‘Magic Book’ in hand, and before Li Yilan could respond, he couldn’t help but open the cover. As soon as he saw the first page, his jaw dropped in astonishment.
“This is… the wedding photos of dad and Mrs. Wu?”
Li Yilan approached with the cloth, humming and laughing: “That’s right, haven’t seen them, have you?”
“No.”
Huang Zhiyi instinctively shook his head and continued absorbedly flipping through them. The main characters in the photos were very familiar to him, but it was the first time he had seen dad in formal suit and Mrs. Wu in a wedding dress.
Wait a minute, is it really the first time?
Huang Zhiyi was dazed, feeling memories buried as a baby were gradually awakening, the images in the album starting to overlap with memories in his head, yet he wasn’t quite sure: “I seem to have attended this wedding; I remember, Mrs. Wu held me while wearing a wedding dress?”
Flipping to the next photo, it was indeed of Wu Wenyue in a wedding dress holding him…
“Yes, I remember now!”
Like an adult reminiscing, Huang Zhiyi felt nostalgic, saying, “Aunt, I remember now, I was held by mom in the audience back then, but… the memory is so fuzzy, how many years ago was this?”
Li Yilan took over the wedding album: “Look at the first page; the date should be there, November 27, 2123, yep, Ten Years ago, brother and Sister Yue got married Ten Years ago.”
Huang Zhiyi was a bit incredulous: “Ten Years? It feels like dad and Mrs. Wu in the photos don’t look any different from now.”
“Just Ten Years, a blink of an eye!”
Li Yilan waved her hand with feigned world-weariness and took down another large red album from the bookshelf: “Want to see this one? It’s my brother and your Aunt Xu’s wedding album.”
“Of course!”
In a hurry, Huang Zhiyi took it, first looking at the date on the first page, December 2, 2123, just three days later than the previous one, then glanced at the specific photos, and exclaimed again.
“Aunt, I seem to have attended this one too! Aunt Xu was crying so hard at the scene.”
“Your memory is pretty good.”
Li Yilan sniffed and urged: “Just take a look, we need to go downstairs; I still need to call my brother.”
“Hold on, hold on.”
“Hurry up!”
Huang Zhiyi didn’t move but started flipping through the photos at a faster pace. With Aunt repeatedly urging, he had no choice but to return the two wedding albums to their original spot, but a question arose in his mind.
“Why are dad’s wedding photos here at grandpa’s house? Shouldn’t they be kept by him?”
“How could he keep them himself?”
Li Yilan turned back, looking at him as if he were dumb, to which Huang Zhiyi immediately realized: “Fear of Zhao… oh, alright.”
“You’re not all that dumb, just a bit slow.” Li Yilan commented, ready to go downstairs, but after taking two steps, she turned back, tiptoeing to retrieve the two wedding albums from the bookshelf.
“Aunt, what are you going to do?”
Huang Zhiyi expressed confusion, and Li Yilan rolled her eyes: “Just praised you, and then you act dumb. This year, my eldest sister-in-law will also be coming; if she sees this upstairs, she won’t feel good and might end up in a cold war like two years ago, making everyone unhappy… I can’t reach; help me get them, I need to hide them!”
