My Taboo Harem!
Chapter 1356: Outer Reality Singularity 2
"Because I knew all long silly, don’t take me for you! I just didn’t realize her true depth and potential until her awakening."
That drew Melissa’s attention as well, although for a different reason. She knew what she was, but she had never understood everything Sienna had seen while the Great Immortal essence tore through her body.
Sienna continued without changing her tone. "The Great Immortal essence that was being absorbed into mom’s body had already accounted for every route it should have taken. I knew where the energy would divide, where pressure would gather and which pathways should have received it. Then Mom’s body began changing before those things happened."
Dravenna’s eyes narrowed.
"A stream of Essence moved through her cultivation and reached a place where it should have followed the three paths that had always existed there, yet before it could choose between them, another path quietly opened on its own. Elsewhere, Essence flowed toward an old weakness buried inside her cultivation foundation, only for that weakness to mend before the power even touched it. The changes continued one after another, her cultivation reshaping itself so quickly that every pattern trying to settle around the awakening was forced to change with her. It was as though Mom’s foundation had stopped waiting for the awakening to transform it and had begun preparing itself ahead of whatever came next. Of course you wouldn’t understand this and think its science... its not dummy."
Dravenna looked offended.
"I searched for a bloodline responsible for it," Sienna said. "At one point, part of the Great Immortal essence disappeared from my perception entirely and resurfaced deeper inside her cultivation already refined."
Dravenna stared at Melissa again.
Melissa caught it immediately. "If you’re going to spend the entire conversation looking at me every time she says something strange to you, this is going to become irritating very quickly."
"You never mentioned any of this."
"I was slightly occupied by important things and we’ve not talked for years, how exactly would you know shit about me."
Dravenna’s mouth tightened before she looked back toward Sienna. "And that’s when you recognized she had started awakening beyond just her cultivation?"
"I suspected it would happen at some point; just not this quickly and the very start." Sienna replied.
Dravenna almost smiled but Melissa noticed before the expression could fully form and pointed toward her. "Don’t."
"I didn’t say anything."
"You were about to."
"I was just thinking."
"Do it somewhere quieter... your stupid head."
Sienna waited until their exchange died naturally before continuing. "Grandmother has never been avoiding mom because she dislikes her."
That caught Melissa more effectively than anything else Sienna had said.
Her irritation faded, replaced by something more guarded. "What does that mean?"
Sienna finally turned her attention fully toward her mother; this was the part Melissa did not already know:
"Grandmother has always been careful around you in ways she isn’t careful around even Ancient beings. She involves herself in events surrounding you, watches things connected to you and interferes when she believes she needs to, but she rarely reaches directly into your existence unless there is a reason."
Melissa’s brow furrowed. "Because I’m a Singularity."
"Yes."
Dravenna leaned forward slightly. "She can’t see her properly."
Sienna glanced toward her. "Not in the same way she can see almost everyone else; well apart from Phei."
"Your soul does not sit inside Reality the same way ours do," Sienna said. "Reality surrounds it, accommodates it and attempts to write laws around it, but it cannot. Your cultivation or power was never the reason Grandmother avoided you."
Dravenna understood before Melissa did, and the realization showed immediately in her eyes. "She can’t see her properly."
Sienna glanced toward her. "Grandmother can see possibilities, observe the people and what they’re connect to the events touching them and the consequences spreading outward from decisions already made, but she cannot look directly through mom with the same certainty she has over almost everyone else."
Melissa slowly unfolded her arms while Sienna continued:
"Grandmother can manipulate probability across beyond absurd imagination can imagine, prepare events centuries before the people involved are born, watch branches of causality most Gods do not even know exist and create contingencies for futures that haven’t happened yet. Around mom, all of that becomes less reliable because the central existence involved was never fully written into the structure she is trying to read."
Melissa blinked several times. "So she avoids me because I’m difficult to predict?"
Sienna’s lips moved faintly. "If that were all, she would probably find it entertaining."
Dravenna’s gaze sharpened at that answer.
Sienna allowed slightly more weight into her voice. "She avoids you because an Outer Reality Singularity can affect things that should theoretically stand far and also quicken or slow certain events destined to happen beyond the reach of the present and future. Your strength does not completely determine how deeply your existence can interfere with another existence because the part responsible is not operating through cultivation in the first place."
Dravenna slowly leaned back as the meaning settled in. Melissa stared at her daughter. "You’re saying my mother is scared I’ll hurt her?"
"I’m saying Grandmother does not gamble when she cannot calculate the consequence; well she liked to gamble very much to the point she even restrains her power just to play; just not with you." Sienna replied. "Yes she’s all power and all and she could restrain your current body, seal your cultivation or destroy this body if she truly wanted to; all that absolute things. What she cannot guarantee is what happens if she reaches directly into the deepest part of your existence, especially if you resist her emotionally or instinctively or if you get angry... mom to the existence you’re like a ticking time bombs that can alter events of those around you no matter how powerful they are and it can be either for bad or good; and you’re weak to control those out comes."
One could even say Chaos was staying away to protect her child and those around her from catastrophe of an Outer Reality Singularity.
This time Dravenna’s smile managed to appear before Melissa looked toward her: "Powerful bitch."
Sienna continued, unwilling to let the two of them drag the conversation sideways again.
"Anyway Grandmother knowing what mom is explains the distance, but that isn’t the part I’m most concerned about."
Melissa looked toward her daughter again. "There’s more?"
Sienna’s expression became thoughtful.
Dravenna noticed immediately. "What?"
Sienna did not answer at once, and the pause was enough to make Melissa’s irritation slowly disappear.
Dravenna leaned forward and said before Sienna: "If the Empress has known what Melissa is for her entire life, then what changed? Melissa has always been an Outer Reality Singularity. Whatever caution Chaos had around her should already have existed."
That was the question.
Melissa watched her daughter become quiet, then followed the direction of her eyes when they lowered from her face.
Toward her stomach.
Dravenna followed almost immediately.
Melissa noticed both women staring and instinctively placed one hand over the small swell beneath her clothes. "What?"
Sienna remained quiet for several breaths, and for the first time since the conversation began, the Nether Goddess looked genuinely thoughtful rather than completely certain.
When she finally spoke, her voice was quieter. "Mother, Grandmother avoiding you may no longer be about what you could eventually do to the existence and those around you."
Melissa’s hand remained over her stomach. "Then what is it about?"
Sienna looked directly at the child she could not yet see.
"Phei."
Sienna continued carefully. "You aren’t simply connected to him anymore. You love him, you’ve bound your life to his, and you’re carrying his child. Whatever you both are now exists inside the child growing inside you since they were created from the both of you; your deepest essences, souls and everything you two are!"
Dravenna’s gaze remained fixed upon Melissa’s stomach.
Phei himself had already become one of the strangest beings to ever exits and the deeper foundations beneath had been transformed so thoroughly that the laws no longer applied cleanly to him.
Every awakening had only pushed him farther from anything ordinary, changing what he was at levels far deeper than simple strength; not to mention now Melissa herself.
There was no longer any reasonable way to treat the combination of these two ordinary.
Whatever was developing inside Melissa’s womb had been conceived from existences whose very foundation had already escaped the boundaries meant to define.
Melissa’s fingers moved slowly over her stomach. "Our baby is fine."
"The baby is healthy," Sienna said immediately. "Nothing I’ve seen suggests otherwise."
Melissa’s shoulders loosened slightly, though her eyes remained fixed upon her daughter. "Then what exactly are you worried about?"
"I don’t know what happens when what you are and what Phei is meet inside the same child."
That answer silenced both women.
Sienna did not attempt to dress the uncertainty in certainty she did not possess.
Their child belonged to both of them.
Dravenna exhaled slowly as that finally settled. "Fuck."
Melissa immediately looked toward her. "That’s a terrible reaction to my baby Jade bitch."
"It was a reaction to the situation."
"Have a better one."
Dravenna wisely said nothing else.
Sienna’s gaze remained upon Melissa’s stomach for several more breaths before she finally raised her eyes.
"So yes... Grandmother avoiding you may no longer be about what you could eventually do to her," she said again, quieter this time. "She may be far more concerned with what happens when an Outer Reality Singularity has a child with Phei knowing already who he really is."
***
A/N: This makes me wonder... how powerful is their child going to be if Melissa is like this, while Phei himself has so much in him he doesn’t even know he does and according to Sienna, their child is likely to awaken most if not all of them.
