My Talent Panel Can Add Points

Chapter 821: Luring the Snake Out of Its Hole! (Part 2)

The outsiders were a talented bunch, after all, all of them were Dominator Level powerhouses. With preparations, taking over Happy Town entirely was quite simple.

Moreover, compared to the first assault, this time there was at least a deeper understanding of Happy Town’s internal workings, so the preparations were even more smooth.

Silver closed her eyes, quietly focused her Spiritual Power to activate Energy, and silver-blue specks of light appeared at her fingertips and nails. One by one, technological lines slowly condensed in the air, materializing into a concrete projection.

To avoid excessive Energy consumption, which would result in a lack of Energy for subsequent battles, Silver deliberately slowed the condensation speed, maintaining the Energy output at a steady threshold, as she gradually sketched out the outline of the weapon.

This was her preparation.

….

About half an hour later, a technological Ion Cannon towering five meters high was finally formed, its barrel shimmering with a cold metallic luster, intersecting pipelines exuding a strong sense of technology. The massive body was completely covered by the invisible curtain above. From the outside, the dense forest still appeared unaltered, as if nothing had changed.

“Finished.”

Silver displayed a brilliant smile on her face, placing one hand on the Ion Cannon, while sending a message to inform others that she was ready.

Everyone responded one after another.

The next moment, the Ion Cannon began charging, the muzzle gradually gathering a dazzling blue-white glow, a wave of powerful Energy quietly spreading, as the curtain could no longer entirely conceal this aura.

“Buzz….!”

Soon, the unmanned drones hovering above detected an anomalous Energy fluctuation, but when the message was relayed back to Happy Town, the screens in the monitoring room still showed no anomaly.

It was as if nothing had happened.

This is because the drones had been hacked, so they couldn’t detect the anomaly. Happy Town’s technology tree wasn’t bad, but there was a stronger Upper World of technology, making it not too difficult to crack.

…

In the security room, a man as tall as two meters and covered in tattoos opened his eyes and looked at the monitoring, discovering nothing unusual.

“The drones were hacked.”

He instantly came to the conclusion.

Thus, the man directly pressed the alarm, the sound of the alert transmitting throughout the town as Happy Town’s defense forces activated at light speed.

The piercing alarm echoed through the town, and many combat drones equipped with laser weapons immediately changed direction. Like a swarm of bees, they crazily rushed towards the Energy source that the man had perceived in the dense forest, with all their barrels targeting the area.

“The reaction speed is quite fast.”

Silver looked up at the sky full of drones, but a cold smile curved at her lips, her eyes showing no hint of fear.

Before firing, she had already anticipated this situation. She took a silver sphere, which she had prepared long ago, out of her pocket. Beside her, Jia Meishu elegantly unfolded a spatial passage, smiling and gesturing to invite.

Then, Silver pressed on the sphere, casually letting it drop into the spatial passage.

Suddenly, on the other side of the spatial passage, the sphere instantly appeared among the cores of countless drones, falling down and explosively detonating in mid-air.

“Boom!!”

A faint purple interference ripple instantly swept through the entire airspace, accompanied by not only the explosive roar but also a shrill static noise erupted.

The previously aggressive drone swarm instantly malfunctioned collectively, their signals thoroughly disrupted, rotors ceased spinning, and they fell like kites with broken strings, densely crashing down on the forest ground, creating a continuous collision sound.

Amidst the sound of countless drones falling, the Ion Cannon finished charging.

“Whoosh!!”

The deafening roar of the cannon tore through the forest’s tranquility, as a thick blue-white ion beam carried destructive power, cutting across the sky and striking fiercely onto the outer barrier of Happy Town.

“Boom!!”

The violent explosion sounded, flames soaring to the sky, smoke and dust billowing, the once steadfast town defenses were instantly torn open with a breach, the entire town slightly trembling under this heavy strike.

The lingering reverberations echoed in the forest, smoke rising at the breach created by the blue-white beam.

“Quite capable indeed.”

In the dense forest stood a man in a black robe with a smile on his face. His figure was hidden under the shade, watching Happy Town from afar, as he slowly raised his hand with a sinister aura emanating from him, muttering under his breath.

“Now is the time most suitable for me to act, countless have just died, their souls have yet to dissipate, the perfect time to craft them into Spirits.”

“Hehe…hahaha…”

“It’s truly laughable; within Happy Town, there’s not a single person adept with souls. If there were anyone who could observe my actions, the preparations wouldn’t have been so simple. It’s been a long time since preparing has been this easy.”

With those words, a bone-chilling wind suddenly descended from the sky, sweeping through the shattered town barrier, sweeping across every street and alley. The wind carried a chilling stillness, making one’s bones shiver, and even the surrounding light seemed to dim a little.

In the next instant, a bizarre scene suddenly played out.

The remnants of those who had died in the recent assault, their lingering souls were awakened, transforming into ‘Spirits’ floating in mid-air, revealing ferocious expressions.

‘Spirits’

This is a special form of Life. They are half-illusory, half-real, their shape a vague outline of the deceased, surrounded by a faint blue glow. They possess weak physical touch yet are not completely solid entities, incapable of being eliminated through purely physical means.
