“Terrifying.”

Ye Mingqiu gazed at Happy Town in the distance, murmuring to himself.

Although Silver and Black Hoss do not possess strong direct combat strength, given enough preparation time, their abilities can manifest an entirely different and terrifying battle power.

Speaking solely of Black Hoss’s ‘Spirit’, its mechanism is particularly sinister; Ye Mingqiu, in his normal state, cannot eliminate this creature.

Moreover, as it lacks blood, he cannot sustain his power through blood absorption, making it exceptionally hard to deal with.

If they were to attack from eight hundred miles away using ‘Spirit’ to annoy him, he indeed would have no choice but to flee. If they are closer, he could find a way to directly eliminate their physical form, but… the likelihood is they possess more than just this ability.

“Sigh~”

Ye Mingqiu sighed helplessly, feeling he was akin to a primitive person with slightly enhanced stats, only capable of countering certain flamboyant mechanisms.

I am still too weak.

Oh, right, I have Hostility Perception, so I don’t have to fear being tricked and killed by others. That’s one worry off.

“They’re coming!”

Jia Meishu shouted in a low voice, immediately assuming a combat stance with keen eyes scanning ahead.

He is the space system powerhouse of the squad, also the one with the strongest Perception.

Ye Mingqiu’s perception is not as strong as Jia Meishu’s; his perception is hyper-sensitive only against those who hold hostility towards him, not towards those merely moving in his direction without known specifics of location or identity.

‘Seems like that wasn’t utilized after all.’

Ye Mingqiu thought.

The “that” referred to a tracking system that locks onto its target for direct elimination. This tracking is powerful enough to locate targets over considerable distances for capture or slaughter.

The methodology behind it remains unclear, but what’s known is that the tracking isn’t real-time. If it was 24-hour real-time tracking, there would have been no need to deploy so many drones for progress.

Of course, it could be possible to conduct real-time monitoring, but given the sheer number of targets, real-time monitoring of individual units would be meaningless, so they opted not to use this method for positioning, instead choosing to deploy drones directly.

The value of their tracking method might not be as significant as Demon Hunters imagine.

….

Elsewhere

Cyan Ghost cloaked in blue light, wielding a chilling long blade charges out first from Happy Town’s fortifications, followed closely by several Level 3 Executors and dozens of Level 2 Stewards, arrayed in a defensive formation targeting directly towards the direction amidst the woods where the Ion Cannon roars.

“Everyone be cautious!”

Cyan Ghost’s cold voice was subdued, eyes combing the dense forest as he ran, expression extremely solemn, as if masked danger lurked between every branch and leaf.

He continued, “They deliberately drew us out; this is an overt strategy. Ahead, there must be traps they’ve set, so stay alert!”

“Understood!”

“Acknowledged!”

Stewards and Executors behind responded in grim voices, footsteps naturally lightened, gripping their weapons more tightly.

‘This is such a dreadful feeling.’

Cyan Ghost furrowed his brows tighter, the turmoil of irritation and heaviness brewing endlessly within.

He detested being knowingly lured into a predicament but having no choice. Staying in town, they could indeed solve the Spirit disaster, but by then the town would have been almost obliterated by Ion Cannon fire; action was imperative.

More troubling was he did not know the opponents’ exact location, only the approximate area of the Ion Cannon… but are they truly there? What if it’s remotely controlled?

Furthermore, resolving the summoner of ‘Spirit’ is the priority; he can’t find them!

Damned!

The wanted positioning system is utterly useless!

First, it only works once the opponent has killed above-Steward ranks, which he’s uncertain they have.

Second, even if someone was killed, it wouldn’t matter; too many have recently done so, making it impossible to pinpoint the specific individual to apply the system.

Previously catching Demon Hunters worked because their actions were limited, and abilities uncomplicated; capturing them required no thought, needing no concern over identity.

Using the wanted positioning against these primitives is astoundingly effective! No problems at all!

But!

These outsiders are all damned Three-Body People!

This situation is incomparable to dealing with Demon Hunters!

With unknown identities and large numbers, the wanted positioning system’s effect becomes considerably reduced, failing to deliver the same fearsome effect as before.

…..

The official team from Happy Town cautiously treaded through the woods, pace gradually slowing, fearing to rush and trip over pre-set traps.

“Boom…!!”

The Ion Cannon’s thunderous echo resounded again, flames rising from Happy Town’s direction, Cyan Ghost’s pressure mounting exponentially; dragging on, the town might soon be lost.

“Accelerate forward!”

Cyan Ghost grits his teeth.

The situation is dire indeed, yet there remains some good news… they are now close to the Ion Cannon’s firing location, soon able to stop it.

Just as they accelerated, without warning the space beneath their feet warped and folded.

Then, a slender space corridor silently opened, and from its other side rolled out a fully silver bead, falling with a plop onto the pile of fallen leaves at their feet.
