Just then, the sound of a silver bell echoed from the hall’s wall.

They instinctively looked over and saw a silver bell hanging on the wall.

"Trespassers in the Great Emperor’s Castle shall die!"

A voice had suddenly rung out.

The Crystal Coffin shattered, and the skeleton inside rose to its feet.

The two stared in astonishment as the skeleton climbed out of the Crystal Coffin.

’The skeleton can talk?’

’What the hell? Is this some kind of city of the Undead?’

A flurry of thoughts raced through their minds. Just then, green flames ignited in the eye sockets of the risen skeleton.

"An Undead Creature!"

Liu Mei exclaimed in surprise.

Chen Yu glanced at her. ’Undead Creatures?’

’Such strange lifeforms exist?’

’Then again, if there are Lava Monsters like Red Lotus Godzilla in the volcano, I guess having Undead Creatures here is pretty reasonable too.’

"How dare you trespass in the Great Emperor’s castle! You will all die!"

The skeleton before them spoke, its voice echoing through the hall.

The skeleton raised a bony claw, and a ball of green fire shot instantly toward Chen Yu.

"Insolence! You dare to resist!" the skeleton roared, green Ghost Fire blazing in its eye sockets.

Its bony claws, wreathed in that same eerie Ghost Fire, swiped directly at Chen Yu.

With a single glance, Chen Yu’s Biological Force Field suppressed the Undead Skeleton.

"Insolence! How dare you disrespect a guard of the Great Emperor! Kneel!" the suppressed Undead Skeleton bellowed.

Chen Yu: "..."

Liu Mei: "..."

This thing definitely had a screw loose, being so arrogant even while suppressed. It had some intelligence, but not much.

CRACK!!

Chen Yu stomped on the Undead Skeleton’s frame, and the terrifying Power of the blow instantly crushed its bones.

"Insolence! Insolence! This is rebellion! Rebellion! You rabble! How dare you lay a hand on this guard!"

The Undead Skeleton continued to shriek.

It tried to struggle, but it was pinned motionless by Chen Yu’s Force Field.

"Who is the Great Emperor?" Chen Yu asked, looking down at the Undead Skeleton.

"Rebellion! Rebellion! Rabble! Rabble!"

"Chen Yu, it doesn’t look like we’re going to get anything out of it. This thing... it doesn’t seem very intelligent," Liu Mei said from the side.

Chen Yu looked at the pinned Undead Skeleton, feeling rather speechless.

’Does it just repeat the same lines over and over?’

Chen Yu’s gaze shifted back to the contained green flame, and that eager craving washed over him again.

’Can I... eat this?’ a thought surfaced.

"This stuff is great. Want some?"

Staring at the "green flame" Chen Yu was offering her, Liu Mei looked at him in complete shock.

Her expression seemed to say it all.

’Are you out of your goddamn mind?’

"This stuff can enhance your Spiritual Power," Chen Yu explained.

Liu Mei: "?"

Listening to Chen Yu, Liu Mei could only stare at him in disbelief.

"Enhance... Spiritual Power?"

Chen Yu nodded.

"Yep. I just tried it. It tastes pretty good. It’s really cool and refreshing, kind of like eating a popsicle."

Liu Mei: "..."

’How can you just casually try something like that?’

A chill ran down Liu Mei’s spine as she looked at the burning green flame.

"Are you serious?"

"Of course. Why would I lie to you? Here, I’ll eat another one to show you." As he spoke, Chen Yu swallowed the green flame in one gulp.

"Ah, that hit the spot!" Chen Yu’s face took on a look of pure satisfaction.

He then let go of the Undead Skeleton he was holding down.

"Hit me again!"

"ROAR!"

The Undead Skeleton roared and blasted another ball of green fire at Chen Yu.

His Force Field contained the flame. Chen Yu once again pinned the Undead Skeleton with one hand and turned to Liu Mei.

"Come on, try some. It’s great."
