My Talent Skill Mutated
Chapter 296 - 117: Cosmic Abyss, Devouring Life
A True God personally stepped in to clean up...
That was something Chen Yu had not expected.
It was a huge surprise.
"The situation in the South Sea has been completely stabilized. That hidden South Sea Black Dragon was dealt with by the senior as well," the man with sunglasses and long hair told Chen Yu.
"The South Sea Black Dragon..."
Hearing the man’s words, Chen Yu finally remembered.
Back when the South Sea was in chaos, besides the Flame Demon Spirit, there had also been a much more terrifying Ninth-level Black Dragon Beast.
He, however, hadn’t run into it.
"What a pity..." Chen Yu sighed.
The Dean: "...?"
The man with sunglasses and long hair: "?"
"What do you mean, ’what a pity’? Don’t tell me you actually hoped that Black Dragon would cause trouble?" the man with sunglasses and long hair asked, looking at Chen Yu, speechless.
"..."
"How are you feeling now?" The Dean looked at him, changing the subject.
Chen Yu nodded. "I’m fine. Just a bit drained, that’s all. I should be recovered by tomorrow."
The Dean looked at him and said, "Good. That means you’ll be just in time for the start of the school year."
"The academy has prepared a personal celebration for you. The day after tomorrow is the first day of school, so we’ll hold it then."
"A personal celebration?"
Chen Yu stared at the Dean, stunned.
The Dean nodded. "That’s right. You received an extraordinary promotion, so of course we have to hold one. This is a great honor. You’re only the second person to receive it since Dongfang Yi."
"Can I trade it in for something else?" Chen Yu blinked.
The Dean: "?"
"Trade it in for what?"
Chen Yu replied, "I don’t think the celebration is important. If possible, I’d rather exchange it for resources. For example, some Divine Spirit Pearls. They don’t have to be high-quality; regular ones will do."
"..."
’This kid... he’s got money on the brain.’
Looking at Chen Yu, the Dean’s eye twitched. He stared, utterly exasperated. "This is a personal honor and an academy tradition. It can’t be exchanged."
"Fine, then," Chen Yu sighed.
"..."
"However, there is an opportunity. Are you interested?" The Dean said, suppressing his annoyance as he looked at Chen Yu.
’An opportunity?’
Chen Yu paused, looking at the Dean. "What opportunity?"
"The chance to go to the Astral Realm," said the man with sunglasses and long hair.
"The Astral Realm?"
Chen Yu stared at him, stunned.
’Where is that?’
’Another world? Or an Abyssal Realm?’
’Why have I never heard of it?’
Chen Yu looked at the two of them, his mind full of questions. The Dean looked at him and explained, "The Astral Realm is a special world. You can think of it as a type of Abyss World. However, the Astral Realm is different from a normal Abyss World; it’s a cosmic Abyss."
"It’s extremely dangerous, but the opportunities are also immense. It depends on your luck. If you’re lucky, you can increase your strength in a very short time."
"Extremely dangerous..."
Hearing the Dean’s words, Chen Yu latched onto the keyword, and his eyes instantly lit up.
’Danger!’
’A place that even a Ninth-level Martial Artist would find dangerous must be extraordinary.’
’But for him, that was good news.’
’The more dangerous it was, the greater the opportunity to earn a massive amount of Source of Life.’
’After all, the rougher the seas, the greater the gains!’
Physical Evolution and Skill enhancement required an enormous amount of Life Force.
Having awakened the Life Force Field, he could not only earn a large amount of Source of Life, but he could also drain the Life Force from beasts to strengthen himself.
’Killing two birds with one stone!’
’The more powerful his Life Force, the more power he could unleash from his Skills.’
As it stood, aside from one or two abilities, Chen Yu was far from being able to unleash the full potential of most of his Skills.
His current strength, cultivation base, and vitality weren’t enough to sustain them.
"The Astral Realm is a vast, cosmic Abyss. The Nine Realms of humanity have each opened an entrance to it. Before the Alliance Assembly, a certain number of slots for each realm are allocated to its academies."
"It connects to all Nine Realms of humanity!"
Chen Yu’s heart pounded, and he looked at the Dean in disbelief.
"Does that mean I might run into academy elites from other realms in the Astral Realm?"
The Dean nodded. "Yes, you can."
"Then couldn’t you travel to other realms through the Astral Realm?" Chen Yu’s eyes lit up.
The Dean shook his head. "You’re overthinking it. The Astral Realm has special cosmic laws that not even a True God can break. You can only return to the same realm you entered from."
"I see..."
The light in Chen Yu’s eyes dimmed.
"The number of slots for the Astral Realm allocated to each realm is limited. Each academy only gets one," the Dean said, looking at Chen Yu.
"And you’re giving that slot to me?" Chen Yu quickly understood the Dean’s meaning. After all that had been said, he would have to be incredibly dense not to get it.
The Dean nodded. "Yes. This slot has already been reserved for you."
"So when do I go?" Chen Yu threw off the covers and looked at the Dean.
The Dean: "..."
"Don’t be in such a hurry. It will be some time before you can go to the Astral Realm. It will be after the school year starts, at least. We’ll notify you of the specific time."
Hearing this, Chen Yu pulled the covers back on.
"Alright, just get some rest. Don’t overthink it. What’s yours won’t run away. As for information about the Astral Realm, I’ll transfer it to your communicator account in a bit. You can look it over beforehand and prepare yourself," the Dean said to Chen Yu.
Chen Yu nodded.
...
After the two of them left, Chen Yu lay in bed, still thinking about the Astral Realm.
’A cosmic Abyss World!’
’This was the first time he had ever heard of such a place.’
He had never heard anything about the Astral Realm before.
A short while later, the wristband on his bedside table vibrated. A new message notification appeared. Chen Yu picked up the wristband and opened the message.
A virtual screen projected in front of him. Chen Yu’s gaze fell upon it, and he carefully read the description of the Astral Realm.
Soon, Chen Yu finished reading and had a general understanding of the Astral Realm.
