My Taming System Makes Me Overpowered
Chapter 298: Evening in the high bath
As the amber rays of the afternoon gradually softened into the deep, velvety indigo of twilight, the High Celestial Spa transformed into a world of quiet, glowing enchantment. The sea of clouds visible through the towering star-quartz archways turned a magnificent shade of deep rose and violet, reflecting off the polished obsidian walls like liquid gemstones. Soft bioluminescent night-blooms around the perimeter of the grand pool began to unfurl, casting a soothing, turquoise radiance over the gentle thermal mist.
The water of the high bath remained delightfully hot, its liquified spirit energy humming with a constant, comforting warmth that dissolved every remaining trace of weariness from the flesh.
Vince remained unmoving against the smooth obsidian bank, a central pillar of absolute, calm authority. His broad, muscular chest was still beaded with sparkling condensation from the steam, the purple-black matrix over his heart glowing with a slow, hypnotic rhythm that matched the quiet pulse of the sanctuary. His dark hair was damp and swept back, emphasizing the sharp, noble lines of his jaw and his dark amethyst eyes, which observed his consorts with lazy, possessive contentment.
On his right, Solaria had shifted slightly, her head pillowed softly against his chest right over his steady origin core. Her golden hair was damp, floating around her shoulders like spun silk upon the shimmering surface of the water. Her amber eyes were half-closed, gazing out through the arches at the emerging stars. Her hand rested flat over his ribs, her slender fingers lightly tracing the defined contours of his abdomen.
"I could stay in this water for an entire century, Sovereign," Solaria whispered softly, her sweet, melodic voice carrying a heavy, contented rasp. "In the old days, evening was always a time of prayer and vigilance—watching the skies for unexpected threats or cosmic anomalies. To sit here with you, watching the stars simply exist without burden... it feels like a divine dream."
"It is no dream, my priestess," Vince spoke smoothly, his deep velvet baritone vibrating through his chest directly into her cheek, sending a pleasant, familiar shiver down her spine. "The stars burn because I allow them to. You have nothing left to watch for."
Vetra let out a low, husky rumble in her throat, shifting her weight against his broad shoulder. The dragon-kin enforcer had turned onto her back, floating effortlessly in the warm liquid while keeping one hand anchored firmly over Vince’s knee underwater. Her crimson-gold dragon eyes flashed with a lazy, wicked glint under the dim starlight.
"He’s right, Sun-Princess," Vetra purred, her sharp fangs showing in a slow, sleepy smirk. "The only anomaly in this universe right now is how the Sovereign manages to keep five women completely mesmerized without even moving a muscle. It’s practically cheating."
"It is not cheating, Vetra, it is gravitational pull," Elena corrected softly from Vince’s left side.
The chief administrator was reclining gracefully with her back resting against Vince’s side, her head tilted back against his shoulder. Her silver hair hung over the obsidian rim, soaking in the shallow water behind them. Her golden eyes were serene, gazing up at the twin moons ascending into the azure sky. "When an entity possesses absolute origin authority, devotion is simply the natural law of physics. We are merely following our proper orbits."
Vince let out a dark, low velvet chuckle that rippled the water around them, his long, broad fingers reaching over to lightly pinch Elena’s chin, tilting her face up to meet his dark gaze. "Always applying logic to passion, Elena."
Elena’s cheeks flushed a beautiful, rosy pink under his touch, her golden eyes dilating as she leaned up to press a soft, lingering kiss against his jawline. "Only because my logic always arrives at the exact same conclusion, my Sovereign... that I belong entirely to you."
In the center of the deep basin, Lyrielle glided through the warm, glowing liquid like an ethereal siren of the night. Her long silver-white hair trailed behind her in shimmering waves, catching the turquoise light of the bioluminescent blooms. She reached the edge of the obsidian dais where Vince rested, placing her hands on the submerged ledge between his legs and pulling herself up slightly so her soft, pale chest rested against his knees.
"The night air is growing crisp, Lord Vince," Lyrielle murmured, her violet eyes swimming with serene, unconditional devotion. She reached out, picking up a silver pitcher of warmed honey-nectar from the floating tray and pouring a thin, sweet stream into a crystal goblet. She held the chalice to his lips, watching with quiet adoration as Vince drank slowly from her offering. "Shall I play the lyre to welcome the starlight, or do you prefer the quiet?"
"Your voice is music enough, Lyrielle," Vince replied smoothly, his thumb reaching out to gently wipe a stray drop of sweet nectar from the corner of her soft lips before pulling her closer into the fold.
Lyrielle let out a soft, blissful sigh, resting her chin on his knee, completely content to simply exist in his shadow.
Near the shallow steps, Barnaby had constructed a tiny fortress out of floating jade blocks and glowing lotus blossoms. The small lotus-nexus was sitting waist-deep in the water, humming a sweet, wordless tune to herself as her 100% bloomed Lotus Core radiated a comforting golden aura.
Suddenly, she looked up, her bright eyes catching Vince’s gaze. With a joyful squeal, she abandoned her stone fortress, swimming over quickly and splashing her way into Vince’s lap, resting her back against his broad chest while Solaria gently wrapped a arm around her to keep her warm.
"Look, Vince! The stars are blinking at us!" Barnaby chirped happily, pointing a tiny finger up through the open quartz arches at the brilliant, multi-colored star clusters forming in the night sky.
Vince wrapped his broad arms around all of them—holding Barnaby on his chest, Solaria against his heart, Elena flush against his side, Vetra resting on his shoulder, and Lyrielle cradled at his knees. The dark, comforting weight of his twilight authority expanded outward, creating a warm, impenetrable barrier around the high celestial spa that kept the cool night wind at bay while filling the air with an intoxicating, cozy warmth.
There were no realms to conquer, no cosmic balance to restore, and no battlelines to draw. Under the infinite, starlit canopy of the Garden Realm, the Sovereign of Creation leaned back against the ancient stone, surrounded by the absolute love and unbroken devotion of his queens, letting the quiet evening fade into an endless, peaceful night.
