Ghani Wen cleared his throat softly, breaking the silence that had suddenly fallen over the room after the three men spoke.

"Tino Nair, you are no longer the Head of the Supervisory Council of the Melvin Continent. Your term ended ten years ago, right after you made that outrageous decision. You have no right to overturn the decisions made by the people of my Melvin Continent."

Tino sneered. He crossed his legs, then tapped the wooden cane in his hand against the marble floor.

"Whether I have the right or not isn’t something you can determine based solely on your position. Ghani Wen, don’t get too arrogant. You hold this position because I chose to step down back then. Even though I’ve lost control over the council, do you think I no longer have any power in this place?"

Ghani snorted.

"I rose to this position through my own abilities. Everyone knows that. It had nothing to do with you stepping down, Tino," he declared.

Their gazes met for a few moments before both men finally turned toward Hana, who was still clasping her fingers tightly. She looked like a truly poor woman who had no abilities whatsoever, other than crying and blaming fate.

"I’ll allow you to stay in the Supervisory Council’s dormitory for the next month. You can live there while learning the truth about what happened to you seven years ago," Ghani said.

Hana nodded. "All right, I—"

"No!" Dion, Orland, and Hans interrupted almost simultaneously.

Ghani looked at the three men with a faint smile.

"What? You—"

"We’ll arrange Hana’s accommodation ourselves," Dion cut in.

"You can’t let her stay in your den," Hans added.

"None of us knows what you might do to her over the next month," Orland continued.

"Heh..." Ghani sneered. "You suspect that I might do something to Hana Frash? Do you think I’d harm her when she’s the only reason you’re here as suspects in the first place?"

The three men did not answer. They simply stared at Ghani with identical expressions.

Ghani stared back at them, then gently massaged his temples. Who would have thought he’d end up in a situation where the very people he suspected were now suspicious of him in return?

He waved his hand. "That’s not possible. Hana is the only—"

"The only way for you to keep us here?" Orland Hesh interrupted.

"Exactly," Ghani replied.

"You can send your people to watch Hana around the clock, but we’ll decide where she stays. Besides, our people must be allowed to stay there as well," Orland said.

"I agree," Dion said.

Hans nodded in agreement.

Ghani clicked his tongue softly, then turned his attention to Hana.

"What do you think, Miss Hana? Do you agree?"

Hana looked at Orland, Dion, and Hans one by one before turning back to Ghani.

"Head of the Supervisory Council, may I bring my children with me?"

The three men frowned.

"Hana, do you suspect that we’d do something to our own children?" Hans asked.

"They’re my children," Hana replied briefly.

"They’re our children, too," Dion retorted.

"I don’t know what might happen. Given your status and positions, you could have children with other women as well. Before this, I had no idea who you really were," Hana explained hurriedly. "That’s why I thought the children would be fine with you. But now that I know your positions, how can I simply hand over all three of my children to you?"

Dion looked at Hana in frustration. Orland and Hans wore similar expressions.

"Do you think we’d be that much of a bastard?" Orland asked. He pointed at Dion beside him. "Apart from him, Hans and I have never touched another woman."

Dion glanced at the two men, then snorted.

"I’ve never allowed another woman to carry my child. You’re the only one I’ve allowed," he argued. "I swear on the Sexa family name that if I have a child with another woman, my business will collapse!"

Hana blinked several times. Clearly, she didn’t believe him.

Given the situation she was facing, how could she simply trust anyone? Brandon, the man who had once liked her so much, had put her in this predicament with no way out. Now, she had to deal with three other men whose behavior she assumed would be no different from Brandon’s.

Hana only wanted to make sure her three children remained safe. That was all.

Seeing that Hana was still hesitant, Hans snorted. He tapped his fingers against the armrest several times before adding, "We must also live with our three children. If you agree, I’ll allow them to stay with you."

Dion and Orland immediately looked at Hans in admiration. Who would have thought he could come up with such a brilliant idea?

Hana frowned at his suggestion.

"Crazy..." Ghani muttered.

He finally couldn’t hold back any longer.

"You want me to send my people to keep an eye on all of you while you live together under one roof? Do you think the people of the Supervisory Council have nothing else to do?"

Orland cleared his throat.

"I’ll cover your people’s food expenses for a month. Wouldn’t that be beneficial to you?" he said, looking at Ghani.

"I’ll pay their salaries for a month," Dion added. "Wouldn’t that help save the Supervisory Council’s budget?"

"I’ll also give you a larger dividend this year," Hans chimed in.

Ghani stared at them in disbelief. Were these really the rulers of the Melvin Continent, who were famous for being shrewd at avoiding trouble and responsibility?

All this time, he’d had to rack his brains just to gather enough evidence to make them surrender a portion of their assets, whose value was insignificant compared to their total wealth.

Seeing that Ghani still hadn’t answered, Dion spoke again.

"Do you want shares in my company? I’ll give you two percent. Is that enough?"

"I’ll also give you some control over my technology company," Orland added. "You can even use my people to train your subordinates. The Supervisory Council’s surveillance system was so easy for my son to hack, even Dion Sexa’s men could break into it."

Hans looked at Ghani.

"What do you want? Do you still want more of my shares? I already gave you twenty percent in the past. Are you planning to take the entire inheritance that should belong to my son one day?"

The Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council, who was sitting behind Ghani, was about to speak. However, before he could utter a single word, Dion had already turned his gaze toward him.

"I’ll discuss our business later. I want this matter settled first."
