Sean lowered his head when he realized Brandon’s eyes were now fixed on him. He slowly took his hands off the keyboard before reaching for the hand of his fake mother sitting beside him.

"Mother..." Sean called in a childish voice. "I’m hungry. When are we going home?" he asked without lowering his voice in the slightest. "Didn’t you say you would take me to Grandma’s house again after this?"

Sean’s fake father finally noticed the suspicion in Brandon’s eyes. He cleared his throat softly.

"Ke... wait a little longer. The event will be over soon," he said without lowering his voice. "Didn’t you promise to learn about business after we returned from Grandma’s house?"

Sean’s fake mother nodded as well. She gently patted Sean’s head.

"You need to start learning about this. Look..." She picked up a green grape from the table and offered it to Sean. "Eat this, okay? Mother will cook your favorite food once we get to Grandma’s house."

"Brandon?" Laila called, her brow furrowing when she noticed Brandon’s sudden change in attitude.

Brandon brushed aside Laila’s hand as she tried to pull his arm away. He stepped down from the stage and slowly walked toward Sean’s seat.

Damn it... Sean cursed under his breath.

He hurriedly hugged the woman affectionately.

The woman immediately played along and pulled Sean into her embrace.

"Kevin, restore the computer screen," Sean ordered.

Kevin, who had been listening to the sounds around Sean all this time, nodded and hurried to work, ignoring Zahn, who was now watching him excitedly, as though waiting for something big to happen.

Second by second passed. Kevin’s computer screen began filling with various codes that even Hans, who was now standing not far from him, couldn’t understand.

Brandon’s footsteps drew closer.

Without realizing it, Sean tightened his grip on the woman’s hand beside him.

Damn it. Is Mother’s former lover really this clever? Did I misunderstand something?

Sean’s mind raced as he tried to find a way out.

Cold sweat began to dampen his forehead.

Am I going to get trapped here? With the man who kidnapped Mother?

"Enter!"

Kevin continued checking the results of the program generated by all the code he had just written while biting his lip.

"Come on... hurry up..." he muttered nervously.

Brandon’s footsteps finally stopped right in front of the table where Sean was sitting.

The man stared at Sean for a few moments before shifting his gaze to the computer in front of him. His brow furrowed deeply. His instincts told him that something was wrong.

However, the computer screen Sean had been using, which Kevin had previously taken control of, had now returned to its original settings.

"Stand up. Show me your face and take off your mask," Brandon ordered.

Sean swallowed hard. His fingers clenched tightly around one another.

Am I finished now?

"Stand up!" Brandon ordered again.

Everyone immediately turned to look at Sean, who was still clinging to his fake mother.

"Y-Young Master, is something wrong?" Sean’s fake father asked, his voice trembling with nervousness.

Brandon ignored him and looked at Sean again.

"Can’t you hear me?"

Brandon then turned to his secretary standing beside him.

"Take that child—"

"Brandon!" his father interrupted, his face darkening. "Don’t forget what we’re doing right now. The supervisory board is still here."

Brandon brushed his father’s hand aside without answering, then signaled to his secretary.

The secretary nodded. He immediately grabbed Sean’s arm and dragged him in front of Brandon.

Sean glared at the secretary’s hand for daring to grip his arm so roughly. Red marks were clearly visible on his skin, but he didn’t dare say anything. His dark eyes merely blinked several times as he faced Brandon.

I really don’t have a single useful father. He left me in a wolf’s den and just ran away?

Sean glanced at Brandon several times before shifting his gaze toward the stage.

I really need to find another father for Mother!

"Take off your mask," Brandon ordered.

"Brandon!" his father called again, trying to stop what he believed had become unreasonable behavior.

Sean’s dark eyes narrowed. "Kevin, carry out Plan B."

Kevin nodded. His fingers tensed for a few seconds before moving again. "I’ll do it."

Seeing that Sean had no intention of following his orders, Brandon stepped closer and bent down.

He raised his hand, intending to pull the mask off Sean’s face.

However, Sean immediately raised his hand to stop him and tried to dodge.

Brandon studied him with a calculating gaze before finally giving a low chuckle.

"So, you’re the problem?" he asked.

Sean shook his head. He then looked at Brandon with an innocent expression, as though he had no idea what was going on.

I’m the problem? Is this man actually stupid, too? He’s the source of the problem, yet he dares to call me the problem?

"Hold this child down. Take off his mask for me," Brandon ordered.

His subordinates nodded and immediately restrained Sean.

Everyone in the room frowned. They looked at Brandon in confusion, unable to understand what the man intended to do to a five-year-old child.

"Let go of me!" Sean finally shouted.

Brandon’s eyes gleamed when he heard Sean’s voice ring out clearly in front of him.

"Sir," his secretary called after receiving a phone call.

However, before he could report anything, commotion erupted around them once again.

Brandon frowned and turned toward his secretary.

"What happened?"

The secretary immediately took out his phone and handed it to Brandon.

Brandon’s breath caught in his throat. His eyes narrowed unconsciously. He immediately turned and headed back toward the stage, no longer paying any attention to Sean.

Behind him, Brandon’s subordinates quickly moved into action after receiving orders through their voice intercoms. They returned to their respective positions.

Brandon’s father glared at his son as Brandon passed him.

"Handle the problem cleanly," he said. "Don’t ruin the supervisory board’s assessment of us."

Brandon let out a harsh breath and nodded before climbing back onto the stage. Meanwhile, his father moved toward the members of the supervisory board to explain the problem that had just occurred.

Brandon took the microphone handed to him by his secretary and faced all the guests once again.

"The Vein family’s stock offering ends here. We will close the Vein family’s stock exchange at noon today because the shares have reached their maximum price," he announced without showing the slightest hint of fear. "As for the issue that has emerged on social media, the Vein family will provide an explanation."

After saying that, Brandon stepped down from the stage with a grim expression. He and his secretary then walked toward the members of Melvin Continent’s supervisory board.
